The RAK Art Foundation was represented at Harvard University's prestigious Graduate School of Design (GSD) by its Director, curator and cultural advisor Yasmin Sharabi.
Sharabi was invited as a guest speaker for a lecture titled 'The Sources of the Tree of Life,' held as part of the seminar Spatial Design Strategies for Climate- and Conflict-Induced Migration.
The lecture was moderated by French curator Anissa Touati.
The talk was part of the GSD's project-based seminar Spatial Design Strategies for Climate- and Conflict-Induced Migration, which explores the intersection of climate change, migration, and design.
During the session, Sharabi spotlighted Bahrain's rich cultural heritage and the role of the RAK Art Foundation in nurturing a new generation of creatives.
She shared insights into how the foundation is actively shaping a contemporary cultural narrative.

Navalny widow launches TV channel to fight Russia ‘censorship'
TDT | Paris The widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and Reporters Without Borders yesterday praised the launch of a television channel that aims to bypass censorship in Russia and preserve the Kremlin critic's legacy. The channel, called Future of Russia, will be broadcast via a free-to-air satellite platform run by the press freedom advocacy group Reporters Without Borders, known by its French abbreviation RSF. Navalny's team hopes to get greater exposure and better reach with the help of the satellite broadcasts, which will feature content that Navalny's team is producing for their YouTube channels in exile. From Olympic-distance to long-course battles, the team demonstrated its trademark resilience—none more so than in Italy, where Olympic champion Cassandre Beaugrand sealed a comeback for the ages. Beaugrand's Return Beaugrand's win in the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) race in Alghero was as much about resolve as speed. After a crash in Yokohama left her bruised and bed-bound with illness, the French star had barely trained in the two weeks prior. 'I didn't even know if I was racing,' she admitted. But what followed was clinical. Trailing early in the swim, Beaugrand bridged the gap on the bike alongside Maya Kingma, breaking away from the field with a blistering effort. Her signature footspeed then carried her past the tape, 39 seconds ahead of Bianca Seregni. Olivia Mathias rounded out the podium with her first WTCS medal. FCCIB Celebrates 10 Years of Bilateral Growth
TDT | Manama As the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bahrain (FCCIB) marked its 10th anniversary, senior officials and diplomats hailed its role as a vital economic bridge between France and Bahrain, highlighting growing bilateral trade and a shared push toward long-term investment partnerships. Economic milestone Held on May 27th at Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa, the Gala Dinner drew over 200 guests including government officials, ambassadors, business leaders, and members of the French-Bahraini business community. The event marked a decade of achievements under the theme 'Embracing the Past, Honouring the Future'. H.E. Ms. Eman Al Dosari, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, shared key trade figures showing France's expanding presence in Bahrain's private sector. 'The total trade volume between Bahrain and France now stands at $428.7 million,' she said, adding that Bahrain is home to 11 French company branches, 178 French-invested companies, and 58 French agencies. She also applauded FCCIB's Booster programme, which helps French businesses establish a local footprint in line with Bahrain's economic diversification goals.
