Democrat mayor SMIRKS as he defends 'doxing' ICE agents
A Democratic mayor is defending the public release of names of federal immigration officers involved in mass migrant round ups, claiming that the real concern isn't their safety, but that masked agents are 'whisking people' away.
Names of agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were posted to online by the City of Nashville, as part of a public records request that mandates information about immigration be posted online to a city website.
Mayor Freddie O'Connell is currently under investigation by two Congressional committees for allegedly helping illegal immigrants in Music City evade deportations.
'I understand the concerns but it's not a process that I would characterize as doxing,' O'Connell told reporters at a press conference Wednesday.
'It was an unintentional release of names that was already part of a public record.'
However a local Republican Congressman who is leading the investigations against the mayor slammed O'Connell on social media.
'ICE agents and their families are not safe because of Freddie's reckless actions,' Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles tweeted.
'He's not even sorry. The pushback was so intense, O'Connell had to abruptly end the press gaggle. This investigation is far from over. Stay tuned.'
Identities of federal agents, which are protected in certain situations by law, were posted online, but later taken down after push back from the the Department of Homeland Security (DHS.)
'We've obviously had some concerns from DHS about releasing those names. They would still be discoverable, but that was not an intent of an executive order,' the mayor explained.
'It wasn't an intentional process. Using multiple local departments, we've had multiple people whose names have been there, but again, this is something new. We're reviewing it.
While being questioned about the release of the names, O'Connell shifted attention over to criticism of the ICE tactics during immigration arrest.
'I'm far more concerned about the overall dynamic we have about unmarked, unidentifiable masked people whisking people into vehicles. I think that's a much bigger concern.'
Videos of migrant arrests from across the country show ICE agents who have their face covered and refuse to give their name, show a badge or even identify what agency they work with.
ICE is not acting alone. Instead, the Trump administration has mobilized almost every federal law enforcement to aid in the illegal immigrant arrests as agents have been ordered to arrest 3,000 illegal immigrants a day.
FBI, DEA, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI,) and Border Patrol are among the agencies assisting ICE.

In cities like Los Angeles, federal agents have faced increasingly violent threats.
Protestors have targeted them, following them and posting the location of their hotels online with comments like, ' Burn them.'
Anti-ICE demonstrations include coordinated efforts to show up to hotels at night and honk, scream, play loud music, in an effort to disturb their sleep at night.

Popular former porn star set to plead guilty to federal child pornography charge
A popular former gay porn star is set to plead guilty to possessing child pornography after the FBI found he had allegedly sent and received hundreds of deeply disturbing videos. Justin Heath Smith, also known in the gay adult film world as Austin Wolf, is expected to plead guilty Friday to a federal child pornography charge carrying a mandatory minimum prison sentence. Smith, 43, has been in federal custody in New York since his June 2024 arrest. He allegedly exchanged 'hundreds of videos' of child sex abuse material including content involving prepubescent children and even infants over the Telegram messaging service. Smith was initially caught after the feds carried out an undercover operation that led to a search of his Manhattan apartment. Agents allegedly found an SD card containing hundred of videos of child pornography. He allegedly exchanged the sickening videos with the anonymous target of an investigation by the bureau. The two allegedly used the encrypted app Telegram to trade the horrific content, which authorities said included a video of a 10-year-old child being bound and raped. Smith, 43, allegedly exchanged 'hundreds of videos' of child sex abuse material including content involving prepubescent children and even infants over the Telegram messaging service Smith's defense attorney, Thomas H. Andrykovitz, wrote that his client 'intends to plead guilty to a mandatory minimum charge with a significant advisory range under the United States Sentencing Guidelines,' in a letter to US District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer. The plea hearing is scheduled for 11:45 am Friday in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Reports say an undercover FBI agent zeroed in on Wolf after finding him through the anonymous target of the probe, who confirmed his identity by talking to him through the target's Telegram account. Wolf's Manhattan apartment was raided by the FBI following the sting in April 2024, where cops reportedly found hundreds of videos of child porn on an SD card in his computer room. One of Wolf's last social media posts chillingly read: 'Have you seen what happens to little boys that follow me to the lock room?' He appeared in court last June after the sting operation. Prosecutor Getzel Berger described Wolf as a 'danger to children online, danger to children offline, danger to children everywhere', as he argued for him to be put behind bars awaiting trial. US Attorney Damian Williams said that 'Justin Heath Smith received and distributed hundreds of recordings containing child pornography, including a ghastly video showing a young child bound, beaten, and raped.' 'Together with our law enforcement partners, we will relentlessly pursue those predators who victimize children and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.' It is not the first time Wolf has made headlines for the wrong reasons. He was caught in 2018 having a mid-flight romp with a flight attendant. Footage emerged of the two having sex inside an aircraft restroom, with the Delta staffer still wearing their uniform when they were caught.

According to three diplomats who spoke to the news agency and asked not to be identified due to the sensitivity of the matter, Araqchi said Tehran would not return to negotiations unless Israel stopped the attacks. Israel has alleged Iran has recently "taken steps to weaponise" its enriched uranium stockpile, which can be used for power plants or nuclear bombs. Iran has always claimed that its nuclear programme is entirely Friday, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) - the UN's nuclear watchdog - said Iran had amassed enough uranium enriched up to 60% purity - a short technical step away from weapons grade, or 90% - to potentially make nuclear bombs."This is nonsense," Khatibzadeh said in response. "You cannot start a war based on speculation or intention."If we wanted to have a nuclear bomb, we would have had it way before."Iran has never developed any programme for nuclear weaponisation of peaceful nuclear activities. Bottom line." IAEA chief Rafael Grossi said that nuclear facilities "must never be attacked, regardless of the context or circumstances, as it could harm both people and the environment". Khatibzadeh also discussed potential diplomatic channels after a G7 summit in Canada. He said: "What we are hearing from Europeans is that they would like to get back to diplomacy at a ministerial level"."They are going to have a meeting in Geneva and we are very much happy that finally they have to come and talk at the table about the issues at hand."
