Here's What Diddy's Memorial Day Looks Like Behind Bars
An executive assistant at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) has revealed what disgraced music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Memorial Day will look like behind bars.
Speaking to People magazine, the executive assistant explained that Combs and other inmates will be offered several activities like games and sports to take part in on Monday.
'Spades card games, dominoes, 3-on-3 basketball tournament and soccer tournament,' the executive assistant shared.
A prison menu obtained by the outlet further discloses that Combs will be eating a standard, rotating Monday meal. The producer will start his day with cereal, breakfast cake, skim milk, and fruit. For lunch, he'll have a choice of BBQ chicken, kidney beans, macaroni and cheese, vegetables, whole wheat bread, fruit, dessert, and a beverage.
His dinner options will also consist of chicken, tofu, rice, pinto beans, canned corn, whole wheat bread, and another drink.
Combs is currently on trial for charges pertaining to sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and has denied all of the allegations against him.
Since his arrest in September last year, the Bad Boy Records founder has been incarcerated in Brooklyn's MDC which is notorious for its borderline hellish living conditions.
The facility has repeatedly been scrutinized by lawyers and judges over the years for its understaffing, outbreaks of violence, and string of suicides and deaths.
Combs' own lawyers even acknowledged the facility's pointed issues in a motion for bail filed back in September, which was later denied, highlighting that 'several courts in this District have recognized that the conditions at Metropolitan Detention Center are not fit for pre-trial detention.'
'Just earlier this summer, an inmate was murdered,' they added. 'At least four inmates have died by suicide there in the past three years.'
One of Combs' attorneys, Marc Agnifilo, also told reporters outside a Manhattan federal courthouse in Oct. 2024 that adjusting to the prison's food was 'probably the roughest part' of Combs' earlier weeks behind bars.
Jurors have so far heard from several of Combs' former employees and close confidants since the start of his trial a few weeks ago, including his ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura and previous assistant George Kaplan.
The trial is slated to last for several more weeks, with Judge Arun Subramanian expecting it to likely conclude before July. If convicted on all counts, Combs faces a potential life sentence.

Baldwin Park police shooting suspect faces murder and attempted murder charges
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced murder and attempted murder charges for the 22-year-old man who is accused of killing two people Saturday, including a Baldwin Park police officer. Eduardo Roberto Medina-Berumen faces two counts of first-degree murder of special circumstances for the death of Baldwin PD officer Samuel Riveros and Darius Wong, a 43-year-old father from Hacienda Heights. He also has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, for allegedly firing at two other Baldwin Park police officers, one who was wounded by gunfire. Wong, 43, was shot and killed as he was attempting to park his car on the street after dropping off his daughters, wife, and sister-in-law at a Baldwin Park family party Saturday evening. Minutes later, just after 7:12 p.m., police responded to reports of a man armed with a rifle, shooting on the 4200 block of Filhurst Avenue. Sheriff Robert Luna said as two police officers arrived, they found a man lying on the sidewalk "unresponsive, that ultimately, unfortunately, was Mr. Wong." The two officers who arrived in separate cars, were "immediately fired upon by this suspect, who had a rifle" Luna said. "An officer-involved shooting occurred at that time, and Officer (Anthony) Pimentel. Riveros arrived shortly after and was struck by gunfire, Sheriff Robert Luna said. More officers responded to the scene and a second officer-involved shooting occurred with the suspect. Medina-Berumen suffered gunshot wounds and remains hospitalized in stable condition, Luna said. An AR-15-style weapon with two high-capacity magazines was recovered at the scene. "Every time I hear about an assault rifle like this being used on the street, it makes the hair on my neck stand up …" Luna said. Medina-Berumen also faces a possession of an assault rifle charge. "This tragedy is a painful reminder of the dangers that law enforcement faces daily. Officer Riveros along with his fellow officers ran towards the danger without absolutely no hesitation and that's an act of profound courage… and his sacrifice will not and should not ever be forgotten," Luna said.

Child hurt in car crash at Illinois after-school camp dies, raising death toll to 5
CHATHAM, Ill. (AP) — An 8-year-old injured when a car barreled through a building used for a popular after-school camp in Illinois this spring has died. Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon posted a news release on his office's Facebook page Tuesday announcing Bradley Lund of Springfield was pronounced dead at 5:52 a.m. Monday. The death toll from the April 28 crash in Chatham now stands at five people, including 8-year-old Ainsley Johnson; 7-year-olds Kathryn Corely and Alma Buhnerkempe, all of Chatham; and 18-year-old Rylee Britton of Springfield. According to state police, a car left a road, crossed a field and smashed into a building that the group Youth Needing Other Things Outdoors was using for the camp. The vehicle traveled through the building and exited the other side. The 44-year-old driver was not hurt. Authorities have said she may have suffered a health emergency but it remains unclear whether she's been arrested, has been taken into custody or has been charged. Asked for an update, Trooper Shafer McKune of the Illinois State Police's public information office emailed a copy of the coroner's news release to The Associated Press along with a one-sentence statement saying that Sangamon County prosecutors will provide an update when they finish a 'thorough review of the investigation.' He did not say when that review would be completed. Chatham is a community of about 15,000 people outside Springfield, the state capital.
