2026 4-star safety out of Mississippi has announce his commitment date

USA Today4 hours ago

After landing 2026 four-star safety Chace Collins, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko is looking to add at least one more safety in the 2026 cycle. Elko is now wholly focused on landing four-star safety Tylan Wilson, who is coming off his official visit to Texas A&M on July 13 and has already received multiple predictions to land with Texas A&M over the past week.
On Sunday, it was revealed that Wilson will announce his commitment on July 18 and will choose between Arkansas, Clemson, and Texas A&M. His commitment will reportedly be streamed, hosted by @Bingomediallc, along with special coverage by WXXV News 25.
Wilson had been a longtime Clemson target, but after his Texas A&M OV, Elko and his defensive back staff, especially Jordan Peterson, likely sealed the deal with the Mississippi standout. Wilson's versatility in coverage and ability to play in the box as a hybrid linebacker are key to his development as a productive starter in the SEC.
As I've stated throughout the offseason, in the new college football landscape, solid safety play is in high demand. Still, Texas A&M's 2026 safety rotation will lose one starter in senior free safety Bryce Anderson to graduation, while sophomore Myles Davis and freshman Rashad Johnson represent the future starting rotation, which will include Collins and, possibly, Wilson.
Standing at 6-2 and 185 pounds, Wilson is currently positioned as 247Sports' 221st-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 17th-ranked safety, and the 10th-ranked prospect in Mississippi.

Buffalo Bills superstar QB labels ex-UNC football star his 'favorite young QB'

When one of the greatest football players at a specific position speaks regarding his view of young talent at the same position, ears tend to listen. This is exactly what happened in a recent interview when Buffalo Bills superstar QB and NFL MVP called Drake Maye, "one of my favorite young quarterbacks in the league." Coming off of his first MVP season, Allen threw for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns with just six interceptions. The latter two of those three are both career highs for the seven-year veteran. Now, Allen has his sights set on a Lombari Trophy. However, this offseason, Allen gave high praise to one of the NFL's brightest young talents, who also happens to be a former Tar Heel. This interview was conducted with Liam McKeone of Sports Illustrated. Allen was responding to a question related to how former teammate Stefon Diggs can help develop Drake Maye and why is such a fan of the young quarterback. "I think he brings a lot of security for Drake. Obviously, having the knowledge of playing in the league for so long, he has that veteran mentorship that he can give to Drake. I think Drake is super talented, he's one of my favorite young quarterbacks in the league. I've spent some time around him and he's got his head on his shoulders the right way. He just does things the right way. I think that he exemplifies football. He'll take it and run, he'll throw it and to have someone like Stefon is going to help him out a lot." Heading into his sophomore season with the New England Patriots, Drake Maye is looking to build on the success of his rookie year. Last season, he threw for 2,276 yards and 15 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. He completed 66.6% of his passes while averaging just 6.7 yards per completion. The addition of superstar receiver Stefon Diggs and rookie Kyle Williams to the already budding Javon Baker and DeMario Douglas should help Maye expound on those numbers in year two. Bam Adebayo had perfect response to A'ja Wilson's zebra-themed outfit

Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson was expertly trolled by her boyfriend, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo. Adebayo is no stranger to dropping subtle tweets or posts about Wilson. Long before they hard-launched their relationship, he was there with perfectly timed thoughts of support and, sometimes, humor. When Wilson had a lousy shooting day last season, Adebayo posted, "Keep building today [brick] by [brick]." When Wilson broke the single-season scoring record, you guessed it — another Adebayo post. "U'naminous," he said at the time, advocating for her to win MVP. (There was even a point when Miami jumped in to support Wilson, too. After she shouted out her "favorite Olympian from out of town" during a jersey retirement ceremony, what did the Heat do? Post pictures of her favorite Olympian.) So, absolutely no one should be surprised by Adebayo's latest actions. When Wilson recently pulled up to the Aces' matchup against the Indiana Fever rocking a zebra-themed outfit, he had the perfect response ready to go. "Big steppa," he posted on Threads with a fitting zebra gif. We're so sorry, A'ja Wilson, but this is hysterical, and we can't stop laughing. (We make zero apologies.) This is some next-level trolling, and we hope you laughed about it, too. Any couple that can openly roast each other like this is likely having the time of their lives whenever they're around one another. So, we're totally here for any more zebra-related posts or any trolling back that will inevitably happen. Game on.

Jamie Arnold goes in top 5 of latest MLB mock draft

FSU pitcher Jamie Arnold is going to be one of the first players taken in the 2025 MLB draft, it is just a matter of how early someone will draft him. Jim Callis and Jonathan Mayo of think he will go quite early and have the Colorado Rockies selecting him with the No. 4 overall pick in their latest mock draft. The duo thinks Arnold's ceiling and floor combo makes him appealing to the Rockies. "The Rockies can get a really polished college pitcher who maybe doesn't have Seth Hernandez's incredible ceiling but still has a really high ceiling and a really high floor." Arnold had a strong junior season for the Seminoles, headlining their excellent starting rotation. He finished with an 8-2 record and a 2.98 ERA. In 84.2 innings, he recorded 119 strikeouts against 63 hits and 27 walks. He held opponents to a .208 batting average and has already made four All-American teams. If he is taken 4th overall, he would be the highest drafted Seminole since the Philadelphia Phillies took J.D. Drew with the 2nd overall pick in 1987. Arnold would also become the second-highest drafted pitcher in program history, with only Paul Wilson ahead of him. The 2025 MLB draft will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, and last from July 13-14. The Seminoles had two first-round picks last year in James Tibbs III and Cam Smith.
