Our beauty team's favourite blush just launched a new shade and we're obsessed

Daily Mirrora day ago

This cream blusher from a celebrity-owned beauty brand is a real hit with every member of our beauty team, and it's now available in a new suits-all shade that's perfect for summer
With different skin types and tones and different personal styles, it's rare that a beauty product really impresses every member of The Mirror's beauty team, but that's exactly the case with this gorgeous cream blush stick – and it's now got even better.
We – along with loads of other beauty editors – absolutely love Pocket Blush by Hailey Bieber's skincare and make-up brand Rhode; this super-creamy stick is so easy to apply, blends brilliantly, and the shades are perfection. I love the baby pink shade Piggy, or the sun-kissed colour Toasted Teddy in the summer, while Freckle is another popular choice – until now, that is, when a new favourite has just dropped.
Rhode initially dropped Pocket Blush, £24, in the shade Sprinkle – a warm pearly pink, and the only slightly shimmery one in the line-up – as a limited-edition launch, but it proved so popular with fans that the brand has now brought it back for good.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and, after trying it, I know I'll be reaching for it all this summer. Neither too warm nor too cool, this shade instantly makes me look more awake and fresher-faced (this is also helped by the very very subtle shimmer in the formula, which reflects the light more). I think it would suit all skin tones, too.
And don't just take our word for it – Pocket Blush has been a huge hit with customers since it launched too. Writing specifically about the new shade Sprinkle, one shopper wrote: "I love this blush, it is so beautiful and it is so easy to use."
Another review titled 'My new favourite colour' reads: "Sprinkle is just the right amount of pink for me! You can be subtle or build up colour."
"This absolutely melts beautiful with all the other products and gives me such a beautiful 'I've just been in the sun' glow!" a third review of Sprinkle reads. " The perfect soft glam colour as well!"
One point that a few customers make, however, is that it doesn't last particularly long on the skin, as is the case with more cream blushes. "I love the consistency, colour and packaging [but] it has very little staying power," one person mentioned. If you need your blusher to last a long time, you might be better off using a powder formula (try Kylie Cosmetics Pressed Powder Blush, £21) or a cheek tint, such as the now-viral Milk Makeup Cooling Water Jelly Tint, £22.

Westlife star pulls out of 25-year celebrations after serious health issues leaving fans concerned

The band will continue on for their anniversary as a trio. Westlife fans have been left gutted after it was revealed that band member Mark Feehily will not be able to perform at the band's big 25th anniversary gigs as he continues to battle health issues. Mark was in the band with Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan and Kian Egan and the lads enjoyed huge success but in February 2024, he announced that he was taking a step back from the Irish boyband due to health issues. ‌ The last few years have been tough for Mark and in 2024, he underwent surgery to treat a hernia. A few years prior to that he was treated for sepsis during a Covid lockdown in August 2020. At the time of his operation last August, Mark was advised to recover and not go back on tour with Westlife as they headed off to Canada, the US, Mexico and Brazil, writes The Mirror. ‌ Many fans were hopeful that Mark would later be able to rejoin the group to mark their big anniversary, but he has now confirmed that he will be unable to attend. In a message shared on social media on Wednesday night, Westlife wrote: "To our amazing fans, We would like to take this opportunity to share some very important news with you all. "We are thrilled to announce the launch of our 25th Anniversary celebrations... On the 9th February 2001 we kicked off our first ever world tour at the Newcastle Arena. Who would have thought we would still be here 25 years later? "We have so many exciting plans to share with you very soon which will include new music, an album, special shows and many, many more surprises along the way. "Sadly, Mark will be unable to join the celebrations. We hope he can join us back on stage when he is ready and able. He sends his love and positivity to you all as always. ‌ "The four of us can't quite believe its been 25 years. We could only have dreamt of the continued love and loyalty you have consistently shown us around the world. We are so lucky to have all of you with us and we can't wait to celebrate together! Happy 25th To Us All! Love, Kian, Mark, Nicky & Shane x." In the comments sections of the post, fans had different opinions on the show doing on as a trio. One penned: "I don't know whether to cry with happiness that you're finally coming back for your 25th year anniv or sob at the fact that mark won't be joining you to celebrate it. I'm so overwhelmed…" "Love you guys... BUT, Westlife isn't Westlife without Mark. 3 just don't cut it," another wrote, with a third pondering: "I wonder if Bryan McFadden will possibly join them for some shows?" ‌ Brian McFadden was also a member of Westlife but quit the band in March 2004. Mark first opened up about his health struggles last year on Instagram, posting a statement on the band's official Instagram account, he wrote: "Hello and much love to you all! It's Mark here.. Most of you are aware that I have had some health challenges over the past while. It actually all started 3.5 years ago in August 2020 when I had surgery. Within a few days of this surgery I was in severe pain and was rushed into AandE." ‌ He continued: "I eventually ended that awful day in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) where I was informed that due to a complication with the surgery, I had developed severe "Sepsis", a life-threatening infection that would require immediate emergency surgery to rectify the problem and basically save my life. I spent the next few months in hospital. It was during lockdown. For months, due to strict Covid restrictions, I was not allowed any visitors including my fiance and my then 10-month-old daughter. It was physically and mentally a very difficult time, not to mention traumatic having to spend so long in ICU." Mark revealed that he was discharged from hospital in December 2020 but has since grappled with chronic health issues. He elaborated: "In late 2021, I became very ill in Newcastle before a concert and ended up back in AandE, this time being told I had pneumonia. I was told I had to go straight home to recover and regrettably miss the rest of the concerts that December. I was referred to a consultant who told me I needed more surgery which I went ahead with in May 2022 meaning I was forced to miss more of The Wild Dreams tour. "Three months after that surgery, I tried my best to soldier on for you guys and to go back on tour but unfortunately the physical demands of the concerts and extensive travel were proving too much for me. I developed a very large 'incisional hernia' and I was told that I needed further surgery to fix it. This would be my fourth major surgery since the start of it all, but I had no option." ‌ Fortunately, his most recent surgery was successful, however, Mark still needs time to recover. "It is with the utmost level of regret that I must now temporarily stand down from all Westlife touring until a time that I have had the chance to fully recover from the turbulent journey I have been through as an individual," he confessed. "Believe me, I wish things could be different! I would like to thank you so very much for your support and understanding of me and my health over the past few years." He expressed his gratitude towards his family and medical team for their support during his health struggles. Mark went on: "To Shane, Kian and Nicky, I love you three and I know you'll knock it out of the park. I'll be there with you in spirit for each and every show whilst you continue to fly the Westlife flag around the world." Openly acknowledging his current condition, he confided: "But for now, I have to make the right decision for my health and wellbeing, for my family, and for myself as a person. Please don't worry. Sending the most positive vibes in your direction, I will see you very soon beautiful people! WESTLIFE FOREVER! Love, Mark Feehily xx." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!

Justin Bieber could be placed in conservatorship by Hailey if she can prove 3 points to court amid his bizarre behavior

JUSTIN Bieber could be placed in a conservatorship by wife Hailey if she can prove three key points to the courts amid his concerning behavior, a legal expert has told The U.S. Sun. In recent weeks, the pop star has gone on bizarre rants and appeared incoherent in photographs and videos - leading many fans to believe it's time for Justin, 31, to seek help. 9 If Justin's behavior continues to be as dangerous as many believe, it's not out of the question that he could be placed in a conservatorship for his well-being. "As a seasoned attorney, I'll say this bluntly: If Justin Bieber's recent behavior is as troubling as reported amidst erratic social media posts, visible signs of impairment, and statements hinting at isolation and emotional instability, then YES, a conservatorship could be considered,' powerhouse legal expert Jamie Wright exclusively told The U.S. Sun. However, the decision would not be made lightly, as the acclaimed lawyer made it clear that conservatorships are 'legal nuclear options.' 'In California, a conservatorship is a court-ordered plan where a designated person (conservator) is appointed to manage the affairs, personal care, or finances of an adult deemed unable to manage these on their own. 'This isn't just about being 'out of it' on Instagram. Courts require substantial medical evidence, and the bar is high. 'Especially post-Britney, with the public and legal community rightfully wary of abuses in the system,' Counselor Wright said of Britney Spears' unprecedented, and historic, conservatorship case. She went on to explain that in most conservatorship cases, the spouse or parent would have legal standing to file. However, in order for Hailey, 28, or Justin's mom, Pattie Mallette, to have a case, they would need to 'demonstrate that Justin is incapable of making rational decisions, poses a risk to himself or others — including his infant son, or is unable to manage his financial empire,' she claimed. 9 9 9 'If a conservatorship were granted, it could have profound implications. Legally, Justin could lose control over decisions about his health, money, and even parental rights. 'Custody of his child could be questioned if there's evidence he's an unfit parent. 'It would certainly put pressure on his marriage with Hailey and would raise serious reputational questions that could derail future endorsements, brand partnerships, and touring plans. "He's young, powerful, and high-profile, so any conservatorship move would face intense public scrutiny and likely pushback," the attorney added. Justin Bieber sparks concern with series of worrying selfies as he refers to drugs in shock post 9 'But when safety, especially of a child, is on the line, no one is untouchable. If this situation escalates, the law will step in. 'Bottom line, no one wants to see another celebrity conservatorship saga play out — but if the signs are as serious as they seem, it's not out of the question," Counselor Wright stated. 'HE NEEDS HELP' Recently, Justin sparked concern with a series of comments he's made online - including openly discussing drug use and being "done with transactional relationships." Things escalated further when the Sorry singer took to his Instagram Stories, posting close-up selfies where many said he looked "unwell." One slide he shared this week featured a screenshot from an AI chat interface asking: 'Has ketamine been used to control people's emotions?' The AI chatbot allegedly answered: 'There is clear evidence that ketamine has been misused in certain law enforcement scenarios, particularly in ways that amount to chemical restraint or social control." In another slide, Justin superimposed text over a photo of himself looking defeated: 'This is how I feel after people keep telling me theres more work to do after the ive given everything I have to give.' Welcome Baby Bieber! Singer Justin Bieber and his wife, model Hailey Bieber, welcomed their first child in August 2024. The celebrity couple revealed that they were expecting in May when Hailey was already six months pregnant. The pair announced the birth on August 24, sharing their son's name, Jack Blues Bieber, for the first time. Justin shared a photo of Hailey's hand touching their newborn's foot, which was wrapped in a blanket. Fans immediately congratulated Hailey and Justin while pointing out the family connection of the name Jack. Justin's great-grandfather was Jack Arnold, and his father, Jeremy Bieber, has Jack as a middle name. He followed up with: 'I don't think any of us can handle hearing 'You just gotta try a little harder and you will be like me.' It's not true. "I listened to those fools who told me to work harder. And there's no end to trying to earn ur spot in this life because I tried. U have everything u need right now.' On another snap, he admitted: 'We wanna make our life about work so bad. But this life is about God. Loving us so we can love each other. Quit making ur life about work smh. God will always inspire u to wait to work hard. 'U think if you don't tell people to work hard that they won't. Stop playing God please.' Justin went on: 'Conditioning. Will make u feel i didn't know what the f*** u knew.' This cryptic post was followed by another black-and-white selfie with the caption: 'But I f***in always knew in my gut Jesus was always the answer to pain we are all facing. 'People still keep making me think If I work hard on myself I'll be better like them. But the harder I work on myself the more I think about myself. I though the point was to think about one another?' He finished with: 'The only thing that helps me to think about others to let go not try harder. Join me in letting go of not trying harder.' This follows reports that Justin is also facing great financial strain - allegedly owing his former manager, Scooter Braun, over $8 million, audits obtained by TMZ claim. 9 9

Donald Trump booed by theatre as he takes seat for opening night of Les Misérables

Some cast members threatened to pull out of Wednesday night's gig at the John F Kennedy Centre for Performing Arts in Washington DC. Grainy footage has captured the moment theatregoers boo and heckle Donald Trump as he takes his seat in the Presidential box for the opening night of Les Misérables. Some cast members threatened to pull out of Wednesday night's gig at the John F Kennedy Centre for Performing Arts in Washington DC because they were aware the President was due to attend. ‌ Trump enraged performers and patrons at the venue when he announced huge changes to its programming earlier this year - having controversially been elected chairman, The Mirror reports. ‌ Controversial plans included a cut on what he called "woke" productions, such as drag acts. Mr Trump and wife Melania felt the fury of the crowd as they took their seats ahead of Les Mis. It was his first time at the venue, the national cultural centre of the US, since becoming President again - and since the massive overhaul of its output. Some punters voted with their feet with empty seats spotted in the balconies and even in the orchestra section, amidst talk that patrons intended to boycott the performance. It is understood understudies filled in for main performers, who also had decided to boycott the night due to Mr Trump's presence. The Mirror is working to confirm if this was the case - and how many cast members dropped out. Sales of subscription packages are said to have declined since Mr Trump's takeover, and several touring productions, including Hamilton, have cancelled planned runs at the centre. Actor Issa Rae and musician Rhiannon Giddens scrapped scheduled appearances, and Kennedy Center consultants, including musician Ben Folds and singer Renée Fleming, resigned. ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Yet, Mr Trump remained proud as, clad in a tuxedo, he sat for the performance on Wednesday. The politician has a particular affection for Les Misérables, the sprawling musical set in 19th-century France, and has occasionally played its songs at his events. One of them, Do You Hear the People Sing?, is a revolutionary rallying cry inspired by the 1832 rebellion against the French king. ‌ Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha, were also there. Ric Grenell, the Trump-appointed interim leader of the Kennedy Center, stood nearby as the President spoke to reporters. Attorney General Pam Bondi chatted with other guests. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr took selfies with attendees. But the MAGA takeover was met with heckles in the auditorium itself. People on X also shared the irony Mr Trump chose to see a performance about a mass uprising against a tyrannical king. Images on X show audience members dressed in drag, a nid to Mr Trump's criticism the venue put on drag shows before his takeover. However, some reports suggest a minority in the audience cheered the President's arrival. When reporters told Mr Trump it was expected some cast members had pulled out due to his presence, the nonchalant world leader said:"I couldn't care less."
