DOJ: Woman charged for Metrobus robbery, stabbing in DC
WASHINGTON () — The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) said a woman was indicted for a robbery and stabbing that happened on a Metrobus earlier this year.
On Wednesday, a grand jury indicted Tywanna Johnson, 29, of D.C., for stabbing someone aboard a Metrobus, the DOJ said in a news release.
The incident happened on Jan. 22 at around 11:30 p.m. while she was riding Metrobus 3303 near 15th and Duncan streets in Northeast D.C.

According to the news release, Johnson snatched a rider's phone from their hands. The person got their phone back, and Jackson took a knife out of her jacket, demanded his phone and threatened to kill him.
The rider tried to run to the front of the bus to get away from Jackson, but she lunged forward and stabbed him in the lower back.
Johnson was arrested at the scene.
Her next court appearance will be on July 14.

Topeka strip club owner indicted for machine gun possession
TOPEKA (KSNT) – New information is coming to light Tuesday following a raid by local and federal law enforcement at a Topeka strip club last week. The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced in a press release on June 10 that a federal grand jury based out of Wichita returned an indictment charging Leonard Rrapaj, 61, of Topeka with illegal possession of a machine gun conversion device. Federal law enforcement with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) investigated this case. 29-year-old Topeka man identified as homicide victim Shawnee County court documents from 2024 and a 2025 report from the Kansas Secretary of State (SOS) from 2024 listed Rrapaj as the owner of the Topeka Sports Cabaret, a strip club, which was raided by federal and local law enforcement on June 6. Law enforcement released few details following the raid, only confirming the presence of FBI agents at the club, which is located at 4216 Northeast Seward Avenue near the Oakland neighborhood. Rrapaj faces possible imprisonment of up to 10 years and a fine of up to $250,000 for the federal charge, according to court documents with the District of Kansas. Man pleads guilty to string of armed robberies at Portland weed dispensaries
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A man faces a possible sentencing of at least 20 years after he admitted to a string of armed robberies at five dispensaries and a bar. Cory Jackson, 44, pleaded guilty to six counts of first-degree robbery with a firearm in a Multnomah County court on Tuesday. He also faces charges in Washington and Clackamas counties. WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — President Donald Trump warned of 'heavy force' and 'very big force' against people who choose to protest Saturday's military parade, marking the Army's 250th birthday, Flag Day, and the President's 79th birthday. He issued that stern warning from the White House on Tuesday before heading to Fort Bragg.
