Love Island host Maya Jama reveals show's FIRST EVER American bombshell as she receives teasing voicenote ahead of new series

Daily Mail4 hours ago

Maya Jama set pulses racing on Instagram on Saturday as she teased Love Island's first-ever American bombshell.
The Love Island host, 30, flaunted her legs in a silky white robe as she revealed to fans that she'd received a voice note from a mystery new islander.
At the start of the clip, Maya playfully echoed the show's signature line: 'Oh, I've got a text... I've been expecting this one.'
She then listened to the message, which teased: 'Hey Maya, I heard you want more twists. How about an American bombshell? Get ready, I'm on my way.'
While the voice note didn't reveal their identity, it confirmed that for the first time ever Love Island UK is welcoming a U.S. islander into the villa.
From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop.
Maya wrapped up the teaser with a smile, saying: 'Alright, there's the sweet, sweet sounds of an American.'
Love Island confirmed the full line-up of contestants joining the upcoming series earlier this week.
The ITV2 dating show returns on June 9 and there looks set to be the usual mix of love triangles, bedroom trysts and messy breakups as contestants make their way to the island.
This year's crop of hopefuls include a Declan Rice body double, fire breather and Maura Higgins lookalike and Maya will once again be at the helm after joining the popular dating series in January 2023.
This year, the show celebrates a decade on screens and promises to have 'more twists and turns than ever before' in honour of their 10-year anniversary.
The series, which has been streamed over two billion times on ITVX, has seen over 300 Islanders pass through the villa doors over the years, including the likes of Olivia Attwood, Dani Dyer, Chris Hughes, and Molly-Mae Hague.
Earlier this week, a Love Island producer also revealed that this year's contestants could come face to face with their ex-partners in the villa.
Speaking to The Sun, ITV's Mike Spencer-Hayter said: 'Do you know what I always say, the cast get released and then the ex's come forward. And that's how you get the bombshells.
'They will have to go through the process, but we have already a pool of really really good bombshells lined up. There's some people in that mix that are really under the radar as well.
'The casting team have been working for quite a while now. Gone to lots of different events and been out and about looking for people and I think they've done a brilliant job. We always have those killer bombshells to come in.'
It comes after Mike revealed to the Mail that the first week of the new season will see 'something big' as they 'tear up the rule book' to liven up the hit show.
Last year the show had a shock entry when TOWIE favourite Joey Essex, 34, entered the villa, to very mixed results from fans.
When asked if they will be getting another former reality TV star or celebrity in as a contestant this year, Mike said something else will be a surprise.
'No former Love Islanders are coming in this year,' he said. 'Something big is coming in week one though. Not another reality star like Joey Essex.
'We've got a big week one planned. It's not a celebrity, but totally new. It's even different this year the way islanders will couple up.
'You can't rest on people loving the show, we have to keep it exciting. Tear up the rule book a bit.'
Love Island is set to air on June 9 over on ITV2 and ITVX.

BGT star looks VERY different in racy new role 13 years after finding fame on show and splitting from partner

A POPULAR Britain's Got Talent star looks VERY different in her new racy new role. It has been 13-years since this performer found fame as part of a singing duo on BGT, and is now a West End star after splitting from her partner. 7 7 7 The star in question is Charlotte Jaconelli. The singer, now 29, was just 16 years old when she auditioned for Simon Cowell as one half of singing duo Jonathan and Charlotte, alongside her friend Jonathan Antoine. The singing pair won over the judges with their rendition of Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion 's duet The Prayer in their audition, and made it to the finals. They eventually finished as runners up on the 2012 series, narrowly losing out on the win to Ashleigh Butler and her dog Pudsey. Charlotte said at the time: "Oh my God, we came second. It's incredible." Today, the performer looks a world away from her BGT days - and is now a megastar on London 's West End. In fact, she has revealed her next racy role which sees her transformed into a sex siren. LIFE AFTER BGT After making a huge impression on BGT viewers, Jonathan and Charlotte, who first met when they were 11 years old at school, went on a UK arena tour. 7 7 7 The singing duo then recorded their first album, Together, in 2012 for Simon Cowell's label Syco. Their second album, Perhaps Love, was released a year later in October 2013. However, the pair went their separate ways in 2014 after they were both offered solo record deals by Sony Deals. But despite starting their journey together, Jonathan previously admitted that the duo were no longer as close. Asked by ITV's Lorraine if they were "still pals" in 2017, he admitted: "We don't really get to speak very often but that's the nature of it. "You don't really get the time to speak to your friends, my family comes everywhere with me and they're my longevity." BECOMING A WEST END STAR After going solo, Charlotte headed for the bright lights of the West End, and has since become a successful theatre star. She made her debut in 2018 as part of the original cast of The Boy in the Dress. Since then, Charlotte has appeared in Heathers: The Musical, and Sunset Boulevard alongside Nicole Scherzinger. Shirley Ballas gets tattoo in honour of late brother who died by suicide

Strictly Come Dancing star Shirley Ballas has taken part in a tattoo charity fundraiser to help raise money and awareness for the anti-suicide charity CALM Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas has got a tattoo in honour of her late brother - and to raise funds for a mental health charity. The 64-year-old TV star was left devastated in 2003 when her brother, David, took his own life at the age of 44. Shirley has discussed her love for her brother and her sadness over her loss in the past - as well as highlighting the fact that he struggled with depression in order to help others find the help they need. On Saturday, the dance expert got a tattoo of her late brother's first and second initials as well as his last name, Rich. ‌ Taking to Instagram, Shirley posed alongside tattooist Tal Booker, 31, the brother of Love Island star Eyal Booker, 29, and showed off her new inking. She wrote alongside the post: "A tattoo for my brother… thank you @talbooker honoured to be tattoo number 2 of 24 in your @calmzone #TattooAThon." ‌ Shirley previously discussed her loss on the Great Company podcast, revealing her family battled to have her brother get help before his tragic suicide. She said: "I was wrapped up in my life, because at that time, I had two other children I was taking care of, plus my own son, and they were all dancers, and I was just wrapped up in my world of ballroom dancing. "I was in London. He was up north, and my mother went to stay with him for six weeks. But my mother's old school, and they don't share. So, what I should have done then, if I look back now, is gotten the car straight away and gone to see the situation for myself. He was just in a bad place. "He explained it like being in a dark, black hole that he couldn't climb out of. He'd lost a lot of weight, and the doctors couldn't help him. "We tried to get him sectioned, and when, apparently, I wasn't there, but my mum was. When they took him in the car and they pulled up to the hospital, he recognized somebody that was stood on the steps, and he was too he was the macho man on the housing estate, and he was too embarrassed, he made them turn the car around. "So had she not been there that day, then maybe things could have been different. And it just nobody talked about things like that. No one talked about things like that at all, and they just popped in with pills, you know, like these antidepressants." ‌ And expressing her sadness over David's death, she said: "'I still remember the morning it happened. I call my mum to say that Mark, my son, would be performing at St Paul's church in London, and maybe they both like to come down for the day. "And my brother said, no, no, no, no, I'm feeling much better now. But you go mum, and against her better judgment, she didn't want to go. And I pushed her to go a little bit because she'd been there, you know, and was having this tough time. David didn't want to go, and it was that they chose to do that. ‌ "So, for that, I will live with for the rest of my life. She blames herself, but I blame myself because I was the one pushing her to go. She felt she shouldn't have left." Meanwhile, Tal has set out to raise funds for the anti-suicide charity CALM where he has planned to tattoo 24 designs within 24 hours. He explained via Instagram previously: "The most likely thing to kill a young person is themselves, and around 18 people day in the UK die by suicide. One of the ways we can change that, is by talking about it. "That's why I've teamed up with @calmzone to do a 24 hour tattoo-a-thon on the 7th and 8th June. To raise vital funds and start important conversations. "If you'd like to get involved or show your support, head over to to register your interest or donate at the link in my bio. Just £12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life saving call."

Nine women accuse Jared Leto of sexual impropriety in new report

Multiple women have accused Jared Leto of impropriety, with some calling the 53-year-old actor and musician's behavior 'predatory, terrifying and unacceptable'. In a new report by Air Mail on Saturday, nine women have come forward to accuse Leto of engaging in inappropriate behavior over the years, including flirting with teenagers. Speaking to the outlet, one woman said that back in 2006, when she was 16 years old, Leto approached her outside a cafe in Los Angeles. According to the woman, Leto, who was seated with the actor Ashley Olsen, who was then 19, grabbed her arm. 'I looked down and it was Jared Leto,' the woman told Air Mail, adding: 'We had a quick conversation, and he got my number.' She went on to say that Leto called her home a few days later, recalling: 'I don't know if he was on drugs or what … It was the weirdest, grossest voice … [But] for me, it's Jared, you know?' She said that Leto said he was hosting a party at his house that evening and that he invited her. The woman declined, telling the outlet: 'I didn't even have a driver's license.' Nevertheless, she said, Leto kept calling her, 'always at one, two, three AM'. 'And the conversations turned sexual. He'd ask things like: 'Have you ever had a boyfriend? Have you ever sucked a dick?'' she told Air Mail. Another woman, the model Laura La Rue, recounted a similar experience to the outlet, saying that when she was 16 years old in 2008, she was at an event in a private residence in Beverly Hills where Leto was 'watching her so intensely'. 'He asked how old I was. I said, 'I'm 16. How old are you?'' La Rue told Air Mail. Leto, who was 36 at the time, proceeded to ask for her number. The two began an email correspondence, which eventually led to her visiting Leto's home in April 2009, the outlet reports. 'I remember him teasing me the whole time I was there,' La Rue said, adding: 'He was flirting with me. He'd lean in close, then pull away, like it was a game.' In a statement to Air Mail, a representative of Leto said: 'Their communications contain nothing sexual or inappropriate … and Ms La Rue later applied to work as Mr Leto's personal assistant, further underscoring the absence of anything inappropriate in any of their interactions.' Air Mail reports La Rue denying ever applying for a personal assistant role with Leto. During a separate visit, La Rue said, Leto walked out of a room completely naked when she was 17 years old. 'He just walked out, dick out, like it was normal … I thought maybe this was just what adult men do,' she told Air Mail. Another woman who spoke to the outlet said that she and Leto began a texting relationship while she was still underage. According to her, Leto would ask her inappropriate questions during her visits to his house, such as: 'Do any of the little boys you hang out with fuck you?' The woman added that once, when she was 18, Leto 'suddenly pulled his penis out and started masturbating'. She told the outlet: 'Then he walked over, grabbed my hand, and put it on him. He leaned in and said: 'I want you to spit on it.'' Another woman, Allie Teilz, a Los Angeles-based DJ and music producer, last month on Instagram reposted a 2012 Facebook status in which she had said: 'Youre [sic] not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… In a kilt.. And a snow hat,' Air Mail reported. In her Instagram stories, which Air Mail reviewed, Teilz said: 'I was assaulted and traumatized by this creep when I was 17 … He knew my age and didn't care. What he did was predatory, terrifying and unacceptable.' A representative of Leto has 'expressly denied' the various women's accusations reported in Air Mail, including Teilz's, which the representative said were 'demonstrably false'. Leto himself has yet to comment on the allegations.
