Kyiv rocked by relentless drone, missile barrage
Kyiv is facing an intense aerial attack in the overnight hours, with residents reporting relentless waves of drones and missiles and near-constant explosions echoing across the city.
ABC News' bureau estimates that dozens of drones were launched toward Ukraine's capital. While many were intercepted, several appear to have reached their targets, sparking fires across multiple districts. Authorities have confirmed at least two injuries.
It comes 24 hours after Russian forces targeted regions throughout Ukraine with more than 470 attack drones -- one of the largest overnight aerial strikes of the war, according to Ukraine's air force.

ABC News cuts ties with Terry Moran after Trump ‘hater' post
ABC News says it will not renew the contract of veteran journalist Terry Moran after he authored a social media post sharply criticizing President Trump and top White House aide Stephen Miller. 'We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post – which was a clear violation of ABC News policies – we have made the decision to not renew,' a spokesperson for the network told The Hill on Tuesday. 'At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism,' the spokesperson added. Moran was suspended by the network over the weekend for his post on the social platform X in which he called Miller a 'world-class hater' and said 'you can see this just by looking at him because you can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate.' In the since-deleted post, Moran also criticized the president, saying he too is 'a world-class hater' and adding that 'his hatred only a means to an end, and that end [is] his own glorification. That's his spiritual nourishment.' Moran's post enraged the West Wing, which called on the Disney-owned network to punish the journalist. Almost immediately once Moran's ouster was made public, White House director of communications Steven Cheung celebrated the news, writing in an X post: 'Talk s—. Get hit.' Moran's ouster comes as Trump and his allies in government are ratcheting up pressure on broadcast news networks over their coverage of him and threatening to use executive power to crack down on coverage they say is unfair to his administration. Trump has called out ABC News specifically several times in recent weeks, suggesting the Federal Communications Commission scrutinize its broadcast license. The network late last year agreed to pay Trump $15 million to settle a defamation lawsuit out of court stemming from an incorrect statement made by anchor George Stephanopoulos during a broadcast claiming Trump had been convicted of sexual assault. Moran has worked for ABC News for more than two decades and is based in Washington, D.C., having served in a variety of roles for the network.

Terry Moran Won't Return To ABC News After Stephen Miller 'Hater' Post
Terry Moran, senior national correspondent for ABC News, will not return to his position there after he referred to White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller as a 'world-class hater.' 'We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post — which was a clear violation of ABC News policies — we have made the decision to not renew,' a spokesperson for ABC News said in a statement to HuffPost on Tuesday. 'At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism.' News of the ouster comes after ABC News suspended Moran, who has been with the news network since 2018, on Sunday after he wrote on social media that Miller and President Donald Trump are both a 'world-class hater.' 'The thing about Stephen Miller is not that he is the brains behind Trumpism,' Moran wrote early Sunday morning in the since-deleted post. 'Yes, he is one of the people who conceptualizes the impulses of the Trumpist movement and translates them into policy. But that's not what's interesting about Miller. It's not brains. It's bile. Miller is a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred. He's a world-class hater. You can see this just by looking at him because you can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate. Trump is a world-class hater. But his hatred only a means to an end, and that end his his own glorification. That's his spiritual nourishment.' After Moran's post, several top White House officials called for ABC News to do something, including Vice President JD Vance, who called Moran's post an 'absolutely vile smear' of Miller. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Fox News that the White House reached out to ABC News regarding Moran's post, adding that ABC News would 'have to answer' for it. Moran has yet to make a statement. Steven Cheung, the White House communications director, wrote on social media 'Talk shit, get hit' in response to the news of Moran not returning to ABC News. This isn't the first time ABC News has seemingly caved to the administration's demands. In December, the news network agreed to donate $15 million to Trump's presidential library to settle a defamation lawsuit against anchor George Stephanopoulos' after he inaccurately said on-air assertion that Trump had been found civilly liable for raping writer E. Jean Carroll. Trump was found liable for sexual abuse. Social Media Reacts To Terry Moran's Suspension Over 'Hater' Post ABC News Suspends Terry Moran Over 'Hater' Social Media Post

Terry Moran fired from ABC News over social media posts on Trump and Stephen Miller
Veteran ABC News correspondent Terry Moran is leaving the network, following his suspension over social media posts that were harshly critical of the Trump White House. Moran, 65, was suspended Sunday after statements on X that described President Trump and Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller as 'world class' haters. He also called Miller 'vile.' Moran, a senior national correspondent for the news division who interviewed Trump in the Oval Office in April, is not a commentator. An ABC News representative said his actions violated editorial standards and his contract was not renewed. He had been with the network since 1997. 'We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post – which was a clear violation of ABC News policies – we have made the decision to not renew,' the representative said in a statement. 'At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism.' Moran's expulsion from the network is a sign that news organizations are concerned about journalists incurring the wrath of Trump who has shown a willingness to go fight back against his critics in the press. Moran is the first high profile journalist to lose his job over publicly lambasting the president and his aides. Moran wrote on a now deleted X post that 'Miller is a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred. He's a world-class can see this just by looking at him because you can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate.' Other outlets are getting pummeled by the White House as well, such as PBS and NPR. Trump wants their federal funding ended, calling their programming 'left wing propaganda.' Trump is suing CBS News over a '60 Minutes' interview in October that he claims was deceptively edited to help his 2024 election opponent, then-Vice President Kamala Harris. The suit — an obstacle to CBS parent Paramount Global's deal to merge with Skydance Media — has gone to a mediator. ABC News paid $16 million to settle a lawsuit Trump filed over statements by 'Good Morning America' co-host George Stephanopoulos, who incorrectly said on air that the president had been liable of rape, when it was sexual abuse. Walt Disney Co. Chief Executive Bob Iger has asked that ABC's 'The View' spend less time talking about Trump, who typically leads the daytime talk show's hot topics segment. Former CNN anchor Jim Acosta — who battled Trump in the White House briefing room during the president's first term — left the network rather than take a midnight time slot that would have lowered his profile considerably. Acosta has since launched his own program on Substack.
