Haryana YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra Faces Rigorous Probe Over Espionage Charges And Pro-Pakistan Content
Jyoti Malhotra, a 33-year-old YouTuber from Haryana who operates the channel 'Travel with JO', is undergoing rigorous interrogation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Intelligence Bureau (IB), and military intelligence following her arrest on espionage charges. She was apprehended on May 16, 2025, in New Aggarsain Extension, Hisar, and charged under the Official Secrets Act and the Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Act.
Malhotra is among 12 individuals recently detained across Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh in a crackdown on a suspected Pakistan-linked espionage network in northern India.
As of May 20, 2025, the interrogation, now in its fourth day, has seen limited cooperation from Malhotra, who has invoked her right to freedom of speech. Her custody is set to end on Wednesday. The investigation covers several critical areas: her 2023 trip to Pakistan during Vaisakhi, including who facilitated it and discrepancies in her footage; her connections with Ehsan Dar, a Pakistani official previously declared persona non grata, and whether she maintained contact with him; her visa overstay in 2024 and the pro-Pakistan tone of her videos; a controversial Pahalgam video where she blamed Indian security forces; and other Pakistani contacts she may have had.
Authorities are also examining encrypted chats on her devices, her use of secure communication tools like Signal and Telegram, and her international travel history to countries like China and Dubai. Additionally, they are probing whether she was instructed to gather footage from sensitive locations like Kartarpur or Kashmir, and if she acknowledges any responsibility in the alleged espionage activities.

Sule-led delegation arrives in Egypt to convey India's stance on terrorism
An all-party delegation led by NCP MP Supriya Sule has reached Egypt to present India's stance on zero tolerance against terrorism. The delegation arrived in Cairo after concluding their visit to Ethiopia on Sunday, Suresh Reddy, India's Ambassador to Egypt, received the delegation. The delegation has a packed and productive schedule in Egypt, including Ministerial engagements, Parliamentary exchanges, interactions with think tanks, media, the Indian community and others. It is one of the seven multi-party delegations India has tasked to visit 33 global capitals to reach out to the international community to emphasise Pakistan's links to terrorism. Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after the Pahalgam terror attack, with India carrying out precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in the early hours of May 7. Pakistan attempted to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9, and 10. The Indian side responded strongly to the Pakistani actions. The on-ground hostilities ended with an understanding of stopping the military actions following talks between the directors general of military operations of both sides on May 10. 'Kept pleading for help': BJP's Nishikant Dubey cites declassified files to slam Nehru's foreign policy
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey NEW DELHI: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Congress, targeting former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru over his handling of the 1962 Indo-China war. Referring to Nehru's appeals during the conflict, Dubey said, 'Nehru kept pleading for help.' The remark came in response to the Congress party 's criticism of external affairs minister S Jaishankar for 'informing' Pakistan about Operation Sindoor . In retaliation, Dubey took to X to highlight what he called the flawed foreign policy of previous Congress governments, especially under Nehru. Dubey posted a letter written by Nehru to then US President John F Kennedy, calling it 'the second letter written by Iron Lady's father Nehru ji to the American President during the China war. He kept pleading for help.' Sarcastically attacking Nehru's diplomatic approach, Dubey added, 'Pakistan is a brother, a friend, a good neighbour, we will reach an agreement with them, everything was written. But carefully read the excellent foreign policy of the great Nehru ji.' According to Dubey, the US passed Nehru's letter to then Pakistani military ruler Ayub Khan . 'America sent this letter to Pakistan's military ruler Ayub Khan. After seeing this letter, did we give Pakistan a chance to attack India in 1965 or not? What can be said about the person who tells the country's weaknesses to foreigners, especially Pakistan?' Earlier in the day, Dubey also responded to Congress leader Pawan Khera's post on X by digging further into history. He referenced another letter, Nehru's 1945 communication to British Prime Minister Clement Attlee regarding Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

‘Not targeting patriotism': Kolkata Police's full statement on lawyer arrest after int'l backlash
Kolkata police on Sunday issued a detailed defence of its decision to arrest 22-year-old law student and influencer Sharmishtha Panoli, who has been accused of stoking communal hatred through a social media video. Facing flak from several quarters over the move, the force insisted that Panoli's arrest had nothing to do with her patriotism or anti-Pakistan stance, but stemmed from the use of abusive and divisive language that, it said, crossed legal boundaries.
