Finn Allen rewrites history with 19 sixes in MLC, breaks Chris Gayle's world record for fastest 150 in T20s
New Zealand's Finn Allen rewrote history books as the opening batter went berserk with a 51-ball 151, including 19 sixes while playing for San Francisco Unicorn in the opening match of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 against Washington Freedom on Friday.
Batting first at the tournament newest venue - Oakland Coliseum - Allen clobbered the opposition bowlers from the outset, racing to 40 runs in just 14 deliveries with five sixes inside the Powerplay. It was just a trailer as the Kiwi opener reached his fifty in 20 balls before speeding away to his next fifty in another 14 deliveries to record the fastest MLC hundred in history. He reached 150 in just 49 balls.
Riding on Allen's majestic innings, San Francisco Unicorn put 269/5 in 20 overs on board. In reply, Washington Freedom were bundled out for just 146 in 13.1 overs with Mitchell Owen (39), Rachin Ravindra (42), Jack Edwards (21) and Ben Sears (15 not out) reaching double figures.

The answer to this question is Chopra is not an Indian passport holder despite being Indian. Although his parents live in Mumbai, Chopra holds a USA citizenship due to his birth in Detroit. Chopra's decision to chase his American dream came after BCCI recently amended their policy which stated that players with Indian passport would only be allowed to compete in the domestic tournaments. Earlier, the BCCI allowed players to play in domestic tournaments even if he had a PIO/ OCI (Person of Indian Origin/ Original Country India) card. Notably, Agni Dev's parents are Indian citizenship holders. Born to renowned Bollywood film director Vidhu Vinod Chopra and film critic Anupama Chopra, Agni Dev first played for Mumbai in age-level tournaments before bursting onto the scene for Mizoram.

Led by Du Plessis, Texas Super Kings were playing their first match of the MLC 2025. The incident took place in the 14th over of the MI New York innings, bowled by Adam Milne. Reacting to a slower back of the length delivery, Bracewell played a flat-batted shot with a decent power. Although it looked that the ball wouldn't be off Du Plessis reach, but the veteran of the sport leaped to his right like a bird to snap the ball. A couple of run-outs in the second match of the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) season between MI New York and Texas Super Kings in California had the feel of a village cricket game somewhere in Europe. The dismissals of Trent Boult and Kieron Pollard on Friday, June 13, hardly reflected the standards of professional 186, MI New York lost three wickets to run-outs in the space of just two were cruising towards the target when Kieron Pollard took on Daryl Mitchell, smashing the New Zealand all-rounder for three fours and a six in the first four deliveries of the 17th over.
