Energy Minister Gottipati seeks Centre's support for AP plans
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar accompanied by AP Chief Secretary Vijayanand, met Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shripad Naik, on the occasion of the 4th meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) and urged the Union Minister to extend its support to Andhra Pradesh for addressing various pressing issues in the power sector and requested a positive response to the proposals submitted by the state.
During the discussions, Gottipati Ravi Kumar highlighted the urgent need for early financial sanction for the Green Energy Corridor (GEC) project, which he described as critical for strengthening the state's renewable energy evacuation infrastructure.
He emphasised that the GEC will play a key role in enabling the smooth and efficient integration of green power into the national grid, supporting both state and national clean energy objectives.
The Minister also sought comprehensive financial and technical assistance for the establishment of the Renewable Energy Management Zone (REMZ) in AP. He stressed that the REMZ would significantly enhance the forecasting, scheduling, and real-time grid management of renewable energy resources, ensuring the optimal utilization of green power generated across the state.
Additionally, the Minister made a strong appeal for the exemption of the NP Kunta Solar Park from the recently introduced General Network Access (GNA) charges. He underlined the strategic importance of the NP Kunta Solar Park in AP's renewable energy portfolio and stated that exempting it from GNA charges is crucial for maintaining its cost-effectiveness and operational viability.
Gottipati Ravi Kumar reiterated that these proposals are vital to accelerating AP's energy transition and contributing meaningfully to India's national climate commitments and clean energy mission.
In response, Shripad Naik conveyed a positive outlook and assured the Minister and the Chief Secretary that the proposals would be given favourable consideration.
This interaction marks a significant step toward securing strong policy and financial backing from the Centre, enabling Andhra Pradesh to further empower its energy sector and strengthen India's collective journey toward a sustainable and green energy future.

Bhopal: Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday reiterated complete support and cooperation to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, saying he believes that his successor would do a better job than him for the growth of the state. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, made this statement while addressing a programme in his home district Sehore. CM Mohan Yadav was the chief guest in the programme. "I am not the one who would say I have done this and that. I will be happier if Mohan Yadav do better than me for the people of Madhya Pradesh," Shivraj Singh Chouhan said while addressing a public rally in Sehore. Meanwhile, he also mentioned that his padyatra carried out in his hometown Budhni was presented in a 'wrong way'. He said that some mediapersons had made assessments on their own. "But, let me make it clear that the party's instructions are important. Mohan Yadav is Chief Minister, and I am Union Agriculture Minister," he said. Speaking further, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that being a public representative, he must come to visit the people of his constituency, and it should not be interpreted otherwise. "But some mediapersons tried to speculate that in another way which was totally wrong," the Union Minister said. During his speech, which lasted nearly 20 minutes, Shivraj Singh Chouhan sounded critical of the media a few times, asserting that his Budhni Padyatra was presented in a wrong way, whereas he was committed to follow the party's instructions. He was referring to a two-day 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Padyatra' in the Vidisha constituency which was organised in May to highlight the welfare schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government. Along with many of his supporters, his family members including son and daughter-in-law had also participated on the second day of padyatra. However, according to sources, within the party, Shivraj Singh Chouhan's march was perceived as his personal endeavour to stay connected with his Lok Sabha constituency and the state where he was Chief Minister for more than 16 years.

CPI(ML) New Democracy criticises Union government for not handing over the bodies of Maoist leaders to their families
CPI (ML) New Democracy's State official spokesperson and Indian Federation of Trade Unions State president P. Prasad on Saturday accused the Union government of violating Constitution norms and basic human rights by refusing to hand over the bodies of Maoist leaders who were killed in encounters in Chhattisgarh and other places. The party organised a condolence meeting in Srikakulam and recalled the services of Maoist top leaders Nambala Keshava Rao, Sudhakar and others who were killed recently in Operation Kagar launched by the Union government. Speaking on the occasion, he said that completion of last rites was the wish of every family but it was denied by the Union government. He said that the Maoist leaders dedicated their lives for the people's rights while ignoring their own families for many decades. Mr. Prasad said that the government cannot kill the ideology of Maoism with its special operations like Kagar and others. CPI (ML) New Democracy Srikakulam district secretary Tandra Prakash and the party assistant secretary Vankala Madhavarao alleged that the government not handed over Keshavarao's body to his family members in spite of the Andhra Pradesh High Court's order. Several leaders, including Tirupati Rao (CPI), Rao (CPIM) and Tandra Aruna (CPI-ML), offered tributes to the portrait of Keshavarao.

Amit Shah congratulates officers on anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh; says will visit state to meet jawans
New Delhi [India], June 7 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, on Saturday met and congratulated the officers responsible for the anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh, which led to the killing of top Naxal leaders. Shah also said that he would be visiting Chhattisgarh soon to meet the soldiers who played a key role in the successful operations. 'Recently met the officers who played an important role in the operations conducted against Naxalism and congratulated them on the historic success of these operations. I am also eager to meet the soldiers who made these operations successful with their bravery and will soon visit Chhattisgarh and meet them,' Shah said in a post on X. He further reiterated the resolve of the PM Modi-led government to free India from the 'scourge of Naxalism.' On June 6, Chief Minister Sai arrived in Delhi to brief Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the successful operations aimed at ending Naxalism, the way forward, and also to discuss the state's development. During his visit, CM Sai also met with Home Minister Shah and the officers responsible for the operations. In just over a month, two anti-Naxal operations have neutralised two top commanders of the banned CPI (Maoist). On June 5, officials confirmed that the body of Sudhakar (alias Gautam), a top Naxal leader, was found. On May 21, just over three weeks earlier, the body of Basava Raju was recovered. Raju was a Central Committee Politburo member and the General Secretary of the CPI (Maoist), widely known as the 'backbone of the Naxal movement.' According to officials, Gautam was a senior Maoist leader responsible for various violent incidents that resulted in the deaths of numerous innocent tribal civilians and of security personnel. His death marks a major success for the security forces and is a significant blow to the Maoist leadership, particularly in the Dandakaranya region. His neutralisation is expected to cause a considerable setback to the already weakening strength of the banned and outlawed Maoist organisation. Earlier, CM Sai saluted the jawans for their bravery in carrying out such operations. 'Operations are going on continuously, and we are achieving success. Yesterday, as well, we had a success. One Central Committee Member (CCM) was neutralised by our jawans yesterday. We salute their bravery,' he told reporters. So far in 2025, 186 Maoist cadres have been killed in counter-insurgency operations across the Bastar Range. Between 2024 and 2025, more than 403 Maoist cadres have been neutralised and their bodies recovered in the Bastar Range, following multiple encounters between Maoists and security forces, according to officials.
