Kishore Kumar's voice has been the soul of some of Amitabh Bachchan's most iconic songs — from 'Are Diwano Mujhe Pehchano' and 'Apni Toh Jaise Taise' to 'Yeh Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge' and 'Sara Zamana.' For many fans, Kishore's singing is synonymous with Amitabh's on-screen presence. While their musical collaborations remain timeless, there's always been a wish among fans to see the two legends share the screen as actors. Now, veteran lyricist Sameer has revealed that Kishore Kumar, too, once expressed a desire to act alongside Amitabh Bachchan.
Recalling the moment after a song recording, Sameer said Kishore Kumar had told Amitabh: 'Amit, maine tujhe se kabhi koi baat nahi ki… par mere ek mann hai… main chahta hoon ki… maine sabko acting karte huye dekha hai… magar jab tujhe acting karte huye dekhta hoon… maine toh dekh acting chod di hai… par tujhe actor bante huye dekh… mujhe laga ki mujhe tere saath ek picture karni hai… tu mere saath ek picture karega (Amit, I've never really spoken to you about this, but there's something in my heart… I've seen everyone act… but when I see you act, I feel like I should do a film with you. I quit acting, but watching you made me want to act again… Will you do a film with me).'

Sameer recalled that Amitabh was taken aback and, folding his hands in respect, responded: 'Dada, main hi ek bacha tha kya barbaad hone ke liye?' (Dada, was I the only fool left to be ruined?)' A surprised Kishore reportedly asked him, 'Arey tu kya bol raha hai? Barbaad matlab kyun? (What are you saying? Why ruined?)' To this, Amitabh humbly clarified: 'Dada, main aapke saath 100 janam tak kaam nahi kar sakta… aap jo singing mein acting karte ho… woh mujhe expressions dene mein jaan nikal jaati hai… aapke jaise actor doosra paida nahi ho sakta… 500 Amitabh Bachchan aapke saamne kuch nahi hai… main aapke saath kaam nahi kar sakta (Dada, I couldn't work with you even in a hundred lifetimes… the way you act through your singing, I struggle just to deliver expressions. There can never be another actor like you. Even 500 Amitabh Bachchans are nothing compared to you. I can't match your level).'
Amitabh Bachchan has often referred to Kishore Kumar as a genius and credited his timeless songs for keeping him relevant in the hearts of the audience even today.

Bollywood's best hairstylist died without any money, family has nothing to eat, Amitabh Bachchan, Kapoors were....

Makeup artists and hairstylists play an essential role in Bollywood celebs' lives. From making them look classy, neat, and presentable, hairstylists and makeup artists are considered to be the reason behind celebs' glam look. Today, we will talk about one of Bollywood's famous hairstylists who worked with Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, and other actors. However, despite creating a name for himself, the man died a painful death. If you are wondering who we are talking about, then this person is Hakim Kairanvi. He worked with actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, and other A-list stars. However, his personal life was filled with turmoil. During one of his working days, when Hakim Kairanvi was cutting Amitabh Bachchan's hair, he felt a strong pain in his chest. Sadly, he passed away at just the age of 39. Hakim's son, Aalim Hakim—who is now a renowned hairstylist—said that he was hardly nine when his father died, and the family was left with just Rs 13 to survive. In an interview with Hindi Rush, Aalim Hakim opened up about his father and said, 'My father was doing Mr Bachchan's hair on a film called Mard. He felt a pain in his chest, and Mr Bachchan immediately told him to get a flight and go to a hospital near his house. He died the next day. I was only nine years old. We had no idea what to do. In those days, people didn't really save money. They spent whatever they earned. I remember we had only Rs 13 to our name when he died.' When asked whether anyone from the industry stepped forward to help or mentor Aalim, he responded, 'We didn't get any help. We got help from unexpected people. It's not like people from the film industry showed up. Some of them did, yes, but very briefly. Nobody stays with you. Bolte hain na, chadhte sooraj ko salaam. That was the situation. All the stars who used to come home every day, they stopped coming by. Nobody stayed. My mother would go around asking for help, telling them that we didn't have anything to eat. They did what little they could, but they helped only to a degree.' He added, 'They're all self-centred, and let me tell you one thing—even today, they're the same. They meet you nicely, they're friendly, but you have to work for yourself. As a child, all I wanted to do was earn my father's respect back, to keep his legacy going.' He said that he had learned nothing of the trade when his father passed and had to train himself. 'I would be inspired by newspaper cuttings of him… He worked with them all; not only Mr Bachchan, but also Shatrughan Sinha, Vinod Khanna, Jeetendra, Shashi Kapoor. He would travel with them. He was iconic.'

Neena Gupta recalls being replaced by Tanuja in an Amitabh Bachchan film: 'My blouses were also stitched', says now one gets to know through Instagram

Neena Gupta is known for a number of movies - right from 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron', 'Mandi' to movies like 'Badhaai Ho' and 'Uunchai' in recent times. But Neena doesn't feel shy to ask for work even now. The actress admits that she approaches the producer or director if she gets to know a film is announced even through social media. Neena who is gearing up for her next, ' Dino' with Anupam Kher has revealed that these days one gets to know that they are replaced in a film through Instagram. She also recalled an old film where she was suddenly replaced. Neena also spoke about the difference in the way male actors still get roles as heroes, as opposed to female actors of her age who get 'dadi' roles. Neena said duirng a chat with Nayandeep Rakshit, 'Men of my age or even older continue to play heroes on the big screen, but I am considered for a grandmother also at times. Men have more character roles, and we don't. I know other actresses who are friends, and they still don't have any work.' She added, 'I still message and reach out to people for work. If I see on Instagram that a film has been announced or I see an actor visiting a producer's office, then I call my manager and get the director's number and send a message asking if there is anything for me. You need to do that, no matter how big a star you are.' Neena recalled that recently she saw a paparazzi video of another actress of her age on Instagram visiting a producer's office and that's how she got to know she was replaced. Gupta said, "There have been times when people sign you and then replace you. Recently, I was called for a film and they said you have to do it. I said okay. They were discussing the money and dates, but a few days later, I saw on Instagram that an actress of my age is going to their office. I asked my manager to find out and learned that she was signed in my place. Instagram is not stupid; sometimes it's very useful. Then I wrote a message to that producer saying that they should at least inform if they changed their mind. He realised his mistake, and said sorry. Now, we are doing a film together soon.' Recalling an earlier time, she said, "Once, in an older film of mine with Amitabh Bachchan , my blouses were stitched, the costume was ready, and they went ahead and took Tanuja for that role. Then I got to know I was no longer in that film. But one should not feel bad and bitter about it, just move on.' While Neena didn't name the film, Tanuja and Amitabh Bachchan had starred together in a film called 'Pyaar Ki Kahani' in 1971. Other films which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Tanuja both, included Yaarana and Khuddar

"Amitabh Bachchan Should Have Married Rekha": What Umrao Jaan Director Told Actress's Biographer

It has been decades since Bollywood's biggest superstars, Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha, last shared screen space. But trust lovers and watchers of showbiz to never miss a what-could-have-been theory. Headlines on film portals once buzzed with reports of Rekha's rumoured association with Amitabh Bachchan. Then there was the entire casting and making of the movie Silsila by Yash Chopra, with the late director himself saying how he got actor and wife of Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, to agree to be on the same set as Big B and Rekha. What Umrao Jaan Director Said About Rekha And Amitabh Silsila hit the screens in 1981, the same year as Rekha's seminal film, Umrao Jaan. Umrao Jaan is set for a re-release later this month, and it is worth revisiting what director Muzaffar Ali once said about Rekha, and her relationship with Amitabh Bachchan. In Rekha's biography, Rekha: The Untold Story (Juggernaut, 2016), author Yasser Usman writes about director Muzaffar Ali telling him what he thought about the entire Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan saga. The Untold Story "She [Rekha] is a very sensitive woman... Amitabh Bachchan used to come and sit on our sets, during the Delhi shooting of Umrao Jaan. That's a fact. Whenever referring to Amitabh, she always spoke using 'inko, inhone', like women do who consider themselves married. I think she considered herself married," Muzaffar Ali told Yasser Usman, writes the latter in his book. The author goes on to write, "Unlike many of Rekha's and Amitabh's colleagues in the film industry, Muzaffar Ali was not cagey. He was direct and unequivocal: 'She is and she was in love with him. He should have definitely given her an identity. Amitabh should have married Rekha.'" A Marriage, A Rumour, A Movie, A Legend Amitabh Bachchan married fellow actor and his co-star of several films, Jaya Bachchan, in 1973. In the 80s, when rumours of Rekha's association with Amitabh Bachchan were all over glossy magazines, director Yash Chopra gave an interview to BBC Asia 's Sonia Deol about Silsila. Chopra said, "I was always on tenterhooks and scared because it was real life coming into reel life. Jaya is his wife and Rekha is his girlfriend; the same story is going on. Anything could have happened because they are working together." Silsila, a Yash Chopra film about an extramarital affair, did not find many takers in 1980s India. The film was declared a commercial flop. However, decades since, Silsila has gained a cult status; a legend that has endured, largely because of the trio at the centre: Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and Rekha.
