Firefighter hospitalized after fire at East Tampa commercial facility
The Brief
Tampa Fire Rescue crews battled a fire at a commercial facility off of East Broadway Avenue Monday morning.
A firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
TAMPA, Fla. - A firefighter was taken to the hospital after battling a fire at an East Tampa commercial facility Monday morning, according to first responders.
What we know
Tampa Fire Rescue said they responded to the fire, which happened in the 4000 block of East Broadway Avenue at 10:45 a.m. They said the commercial facility had smoke and fire coming from the roof when firefighters arrived at the scene.

Dense smoke spread throughout the building, which caused visibility inside to decrease, according to officials. Due to the size of the building, a "second alarm" was called, which helped responders get more firefighters assisting at the scene.
The fire was brought under control within 45 minutes of getting to the scene. TFR said no one was inside the building when the fire started.
The firefighter that was hospitalized had minor injuries, officials said. No other injuries were reported.

The east and westbound lanes of East Broadway Avenue were closed while first responders battled the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Brosnahan also will executive produce. Season 2 of the show is based on the Jo Murray novel Dissection of a Murder. Due in 2026, Dissection is about an attorney named Leila Reynolds defending a man accused of murdering a judge. Season 1 was based on the Scott Turow novel Presumed Innocent. It starred Jake Gyllenhaal as Rusty Sabitch, a lawyer on trial for the murder of a colleague with whom he was having an affair. Turow wrote two other novels about Sabitch and others about his lawyer Sandy Stern, who replaced with a different character on the show. Aside from the choice to adapt Murray's novel, Apple is keeping plot details secret. David E. Kelley remains a showrunner with Erica Lipez. Gyllenhaal and Turow remain executive producers. This summer, Brosnahan plays Lois Lane in the new Superman movie. She recently appeared in The Amateur and previously starred in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Manhattan.

Deadly double-shooting on Las Vegas Strip allegedly tied to years-long feud between rival YouTubers
The deadly double shooting on the Las Vegas Strip was allegedly sparked by a years-long feud between two streamers, with one gunned down alongside his wife while they filmed live, according to reports. The victims in Sunday's shooting outside the Bellagio have been identified by friends as being Rodney Finley, 44, and Tanisha Finley, 43, an Arizona couple better known on YouTube as Finny Da Legend and wife Bubbly, according to Fox5. They had been in a feud with fellow YouTuber Sin City Manny, aka Manuel Ruiz, 41, the suspect now charged with double murder, according to an investigation by 8NewsNows. Advertisement That feud started in 2023 when Ruiz allegedly pepper-sprayed Tanisha Finley, with the rival streamers regularly escalating their animosity online, the report said. 6 Streamer Finny Da Legend, real name Rodney Finley, was one of two shot dead on the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday night. However, no guns were found near the Finleys, and no weapons were seen in any of the videos posted online, according to Las Vegas police 6 Finley was live streaming from the Strip at the moment of his murder. Jennings man arrested a month after parole release, charged with rape
JENNINGS, La. () — A Jennings man who was released from parole a month ago is accused of rape, authorities said. Tristan West, 44, of Jennings is charged with second-degree rape in connection with an incident on June 5. Jennings Police responded to a report of a rape in progress near the 1700 block of North Cary Street. The caller said the suspect was an unknown black male who was sexually assaulting one of the female residents of the home. According to investigators, the victim encountered West as he was walking in front of their residence. West asked to use the restroom as the victim and other occupants returned to their home. West entered the bathroom and came out and met the victim in the front living room, where West began the violent sexual assault, authorities said. Close Thanks for signing up! Officers said they discovered West pulling his pants up as they took him into custody. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Investigators said West is a local transient with a violent criminal history. He was recently released from parole for resisting an officer and possession of fentanyl, jail records show. West was taken into custody and admitted to sexual act and was booked into the Jeff Davis Parish jail, authorities said. He is being held on $75,000 bond.
