Tennis legend Rafael Nadal sends golf fans into meltdown with bizarre swing
Rafael Nadal left golf players and fans in shock after a video emerged of the tennis legend taking on TPC Sawgrass.
Nadal recently bid an emotional farewell to Roland Garros, where he won a record 14 titles during an incredible career on clay.
The Spaniard, 39, retired from tennis last year and he recently swapped the court for the course, playing a round at Sawgrass.
Nadal took on the 18 holes that host the Players Championship every year - including the iconic 17th with its island green and picturesque views.
Reports claim the Spaniard is a scratch golfer but his swing left many fans - and even players - baffled on Tuesday.
Despite being one of the most destructive left-handers in history, Nadal plays golf right handed. His technique, meanwhile, reminded many of his brutal double-handed backhand.

The Players posted a clip of Nadal's trip to Sawgrass and the footage quickly went viral. 'Guy turned his backhand into a golf swing… pretty crazy move haha, wrote PGA Tour star Michael Kim.
Those thoughts were echoed by many fans on social media. 'That swing is wild,' one wrote. 'Looks like he's hitting a backhand,' said another.
'Every swing I pictured a racket in his hands,' said a third, while a fourth added: 'Playing to scratch with that move is the proof he's one of the most athletic humans to walk the earth.'
The former world No 1 won 22 grand slams during a remarkable career that saw him tussle with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in one of the greatest eras in history.
'Being for the first time here, it's an amazing feeling,' he said during his round at Sawgrass.
'It's crazy because on TV I see the 17th green and it looks much bigger than when you are here.'
Later, when approaching on the daunting tee box, he added: 'Imagine being here, the last day, playing this shot... it's pressure. I can feel that!' But Nadal nevertheless appeared to make par on the tough 17th.

Carlos Alcaraz to defend French Open title in final as Lorenzo Musetti retires
Italian Musetti won the first set and was playing some exquisite tennis under the roof on Court Philippe-Chatrier. But the 23-year-old had treatment on his leg during a one-sided third set and called it a day after Alcaraz won nine games in a row with the score 4-6 7-6 (3) 6-0 2-0. There were echoes of a match here four years ago when Musetti retired against Novak Djokovic at 4-0 down in the fifth, later saying he was not injured but that he quit because he was 'not able to win a point'. Alcaraz, who will bid for a fifth grand slam title on Sunday, said: 'It is never great getting through like this. 'Lorenzo is a great player. He has had an incredible clay season. He's one of the few players who has achieved the semi-finals. I wish him all the best and a quick recovery. 'The first two sets were really tough. I had chances to break his serve in the match and I couldn't make the most of it. 🧡 — Roland-Garros (@rolandgarros) June 6, 2025 'He was playing great tennis. When I won the second set, there was relief. In the third I knew what I had to do – pushing him to the limit and trying to be aggressive. 'I was more calm and I could see this more clearly and I could play great tennis.' An exciting match looked on the cards when at 5-4 Musetti, who had not previously threatened the Alcaraz serve, suddenly broke to take the first set. Alcaraz served for the second set but the tension he was feeling was palpable as Musetti broke straight back. A sad ending to a thrilling encounter 💔 Alcaraz is back in the Roland-Garros final as Musetti is forced to retire. #RolandGarros — Roland-Garros (@rolandgarros) June 6, 2025 However, Alcaraz reset in the tie-break and, although Musetti saved two set points, he dumped a third into the net. Musetti planted his hand onto his face after a bad miss handed the initiative to Alcaraz, who grabbed the early break in the third. Suddenly the shackles were off for Alcaraz while Musetti was labouring, winning just five points as the set disappeared over the horizon. The eighth seed had received treatment on his left leg but was still clearly hindered and when Alcaraz broke for 2-0 in the fourth, he decided he had had enough.

Andorra vs England predictions: World Cup 2026 qualifying tips and odds
Our expert has three tips for Saturday's World Cup qualifying match between Andorra and England at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona, Spain (kick-off, 5pm BST). We think England could rack up the goals in Catalonia. Andorra vs England tips England -3 goals on handicap @ 4/5 with Sky Bet Pau Babot to commit 3+ fouls @ 11/10 with Sky Bet BuildABet - England to win to nil, Andorra to commit 18+ fouls and Bukayo Saka to score or assist @ 3/1 with Sky Bet Odds courtesy of Sky Bet. Correct at the time of publication and subject to change. Already a Sky Bet member? Check out more free bets from the best betting sites, reviewed by our experts. England should ease to victory Finding the value in a mismatch such as this can be tough but England to win by four or more goals looks overpriced at 4/5 with SkyBet. Thomas Tuchel's tenure started with 2-0 and 3-0 wins over Albania and Latvia respectively, and Andorra are another level below those sides, sitting 173rd in the Fifa world rankings, and they in turn were outclassed in a 3-0 defeat by Albania in March. England are likely to field a strong side for this one with players likely to be rotated for the friendly with Senegal next week, and attacking players such as Ivan Toney, Eberechi Eze, Morgan Gibbs-White and Morgan Rogers will want to make their mark if given the chance. Inexperienced Babot may rack up fouls Given the uncertainty with team selections, punters should tread carefully in the player markets but 21-year-old Pau Babot has started Andorra's last two games and, if he gets a run out in this one, he could rack up the fouls. Babot's inexperience showed in his last two games for his country as he recorded two fouls against Albania and an almighty seven against Latvia. England averaged 73.8 per cent possession in their first two World Cup qualifiers, so Andorra will have plenty of work to do off the ball and Babot is a decent pick to commit 3+ fouls at 11/10. Saka can shine for new boss Tuchel Those looking for a BuildABet for this contest should start it with England to win to nil. The Three Lions have kept clean sheets in their last four competitive matches, limiting Latvia to just a single shot on target in March's 3-0 win, and Andorra are without their chief goal threat Albert Rosas. Andorra to commit 18+ fouls is another enticing selection. Only Bosnia (19.5) have averaged more fouls than Andorra (17.5) in World Cup qualifying so far and England should have the lion's share of possession. Complete the BuildABet selection with Bukayo Saka to score or assist with the Arsenal man expected to feature for the first time under Tuchel. The winger managed six goals and 10 assists in the Premier League this season. Andorra vs England odds All odds courtesy of Sky Bet. Correct at the time of publication and subject to change.
