Cycling-Last Tour stage to go through Butte Montmartre in Paris

PARIS (Reuters) - The final stage of this year's Tour de France will go up the Butte Montmartre, a year after the road race of the Paris Olympics went on the iconic hill, organisers said on Wednesday.
"An exceptional route has been designed, inspired by the course of the road race at the 2024 Olympic Games, which drew over 500,000 spectators last August," Amaury Sport Organisation said in a statement.
"The riders will climb Montmartre hill and pass at the foot of the Sacre-Coeur before contesting a stage whose scenario could break with the traditions established over the past 50 years in the heart of the capital."
The Tour has been finishing on the Champs Elysees every year since 1975, at the exception of 2024, when it ended up in Nice.
The Champs Elysees stage is usually a procession to the avenue, where only the final sprint is contested, but this year's route is likely to break this scenario.
The Tour starts on July 5 in Lille and ends on July 27.

12,000 expected at highway marathon in Klang Valley

The marathon will take place on parts of the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) and Sungai Besi Highway (Besraya). Over 12,000 participants are expected to join the event with four running categories, ranging from 5km to 42km. This year's 'Highway Legend' theme aims to celebrate everyday athletes who train without seeking recognition. Allianz Malaysia chief executive officer Sean Wang, representing the event's co-title sponsor, said the event was gaining more global recognition. 'Our partnership with IJM reflects a shared commitment to health and sustainability, mirroring our global support for the Olympics and Paralympics through 2032. 'The IJM Allianz Duo Highway Challenge has earned two Malaysia Book of Records titles. It is the first full marathon held on a highway and the longest marathon course on a closed highway. 'The 2025 edition has secured certification from World Athletics, an international governing body for athletics. Soccer-Wales fan hospitalised after fall from stands during Belgium match
BRUSSELS (Reuters) -A Wales football fan was taken to hospital on Monday after falling from the stands during their World Cup qualifier against Belgium at King Baudouin Stadium. The unnamed supporter fell from the upper tier into the lower tier amid celebrations when Wales equalised with a third goal, according to the Football Association of Wales. "He was conscious and speaking and has now been taken to hospital for further checks," the FAW said in a statement, while no further details about his condition have been released.
