A man proposed to his partner with a stunning engagement ring. She returned the favor with his dream Rolex.

It's time that men start wearing engagement rings — or engagement Rolexes.
That's what Andrew Woolf did.
The 28-year-old property manager has had a storybook romance with his partner, Marielle Woolf. They met in 2018, got engaged in 2022, and later married in 2024.
That entire time, his wife Marielle, a 28-year-old school social worker, had a plan to show Andrew how grateful she was for their partnership.
"I always knew, from the second we started dating, that I wanted to give him a Rolex," she told Business Insider. "That is the male version of an engagement ring."
A match made in college
It was Marielle's last semester of college at SUNY Albany in 2018 when her best friend asked: "Are you ready to meet your husband?"
She said yes and agreed to meet Andrew, the fraternity brother of her friend's boyfriend, at a bar.
"We hit it off and haven't left each other's side since," she said. The couple now lives together in Connecticut.
By 2021, Andrew was certain he'd found the girl he wanted to marry. He saved money for a year, storing cash inside an envelope stuffed in his sock drawer, and later visited a family friend who works as a jeweler in New York's Westchester County.
"I came up with the very silly lie: I need to get my car serviced up in Westchester," he told BI. "But I forgot to turn my location off until I was actually at the jeweler."
Marielle, of course, knew he'd visited. Still, she had no idea that Andrew spent multiple sessions working to make a perfect ring, and that he'd later purchased it and hid the box inside a ski boot in their closet.
She was also completely surprised when he finally proposed to her on the beach in September 2022, followed by a party on Fire Island with their closest friends and family.
Andrew didn't just get the girl. He also got a designer watch.
For nearly a year before their September 2024 nuptials, Marielle had secretly been working on a project: securing Andrew's dream Rolex watch, a $7,750 Air-King.
She wanted to show appreciation for her engagement ring, Andrew's proposal, and every other special moment they'd shared thus far.
"It was a full-time job trying to get this Rolex," Marielle told BI.
Rolexes can be easier to buy than some other luxury watches. Still, the process isn't always quick. Rather than going online and adding one to your virtual shopping cart, shoppers must visit an authorized retailer, where they could end up on a waitlist alongside other interested buyers.
You can also turn to unofficial secondhand dealers. It's often a more expensive path, but one that can lead to more rare and coveted timepieces.
Marielle tapped her brother for help, connected with a broker in New York City, and put her name on every waitlist she could find — even for watches she wasn't as interested in, just to increase her chances of getting one.
"It's all about relationships," she said of the buying process. "I would make sure to visit the broker every time I was in the city, and I'd remember little things about them. I'd text them every so often to ask how they were doing and just check in. It took me almost a year being on waitlists and making that constant effort."
When she was finally offered one — the exact model her husband wanted — "on a random Tuesday," she left work early and picked it up two blocks from her then-fiancé's office.
Marielle told BI that she knew Andrew would feel terrible if she gave him the luxury timepiece when he didn't have something for her. So she suggested they exchange wedding gifts with a budget of $500 each.
He went over budget with a Cartier bracelet, and Marielle did the same with the Rolex.
She recently posted a video of the exchange on TikTok, where it's been viewed more than 745,000 times.
"I did not have any inkling that she would be getting me a watch, let alone a Rolex," Andrew said, adding that it almost felt like a second proposal — this time from Marielle to him. "I was genuinely shocked."

"When we got our wedding bands, I fell in love with one that was way out of our budget," Marielle recalled. "Andrew is so selfless; he got a less-expensive band so we could afford the wedding band I wanted, even though he already gave me the engagement ring of my dreams."
Kicking off a new tradition
In the comment section of Marielle's TikTok post, dozens of viewers have asked where they can purchase a Rolex for their partner.
The couple said they'd love to see this become a more common trend, where both people in a relationship are celebrated for getting engaged.
"I'll pass down my diamond ring one day to our kids, and he'll pass down the Rolex," Marielle said.
Of course, you don't need a luxury item to woo your partner.
"If you have the means to do something — on a similar scale or a smaller one — I think it shows true partnership," Andrew said. "Not only was one person able to save [money], keep a secret, plan, and execute [a proposal] beautifully, but both were able to do it for one another."
If you can swing a Rolex, though, your husband just might end up with the partner and watch of his dreams.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Not Invited to King Charles' Birthday Parade amid Harry's Claim Dad ‘Won't Speak' to Him

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were not invited to King Charles' birthday parade for the third year in a row The Duke and Duchess of Sussex last attended Trooping the Colour in 2022 — but were kept out of the public spotlight Harry recently said Charles 'won't speak' to him amid their ongoing rift and legal battles over securityFor the third year in a row, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have not been invited to Trooping the Colour — King Charles' official birthday celebration and one of the royal family's most high-profile annual events — set to take place this Saturday, June 14. The decision continues a pattern set after Charles became monarch in 2022. The last time Harry and Meghan attended Trooping was during Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee in June 2022 — where they were noticeably kept out of the public spotlight, watching the parade from a separate room alongside other non-working royals and not joining the traditional balcony appearance. Their ongoing absence comes as the family rift deepens. The Duke of Sussex, 40, recently lost a legal bid to reinstate his state-funded security in the U.K. and admitted in a BBC interview last month that he cannot envision bringing his wife and their two children — Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4 — back to Britain under the current circumstances. 'I can't see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point,' he said. The lack of an invitation to Trooping follows a series of strained moments between father and son — including Harry's statement that King Charles is not currently speaking to him. Despite the silence, Harry has continued to express hope for a reunion. "I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point in continuing to fight anymore," he told the BBC. "Life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has," he continued. "He won't speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile." Meghan, 42, had been scheduled to attend a museum gala in Los Angeles on the same day as Trooping, before the event was canceled earlier this week amid ongoing protests in the city. PEOPLE confirmed that the King, 76, will travel by carriage at Trooping the Colour for the second year in a row (instead of riding on horseback) as his treatment for cancer continues. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined the Trooping the Colour celebrations twice as a couple following their 2018 wedding, riding in the royal carriage procession and making balcony appearances at Buckingham Palace in both 2018 and 2019. Like most large-scale events, Trooping was significantly scaled down in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID pandemic. The tradition was brought back in 2022, but the royal event is one that Harry and Meghan's children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have never attended. Prince Archie, 6, was just a few weeks old when his parents went to Trooping in June 2019. Meanwhile, his sister Princess Lilibet, 4, was born in California in June 2021 after Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties. Both Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet traveled with their parents to the U.K. in June 2022 for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations commemorating Queen Elizabeth's record 70-year reign. The Queen likely met Lilibet, who was named after the monarch's childhood nickname, during that trip, which doubled as Harry and Meghan's only trip to the U.K. with their kids after stepping back from their royal roles. It's understood that a sticking point in the rift between Harry and King Charles is the issue of automatic state-funded security while in the U.K. Prince Harry maintains that this essential protection was unfairly stripped when he and his wife stepped back in 2020, and a judge dismissed his latest legal appeal to restore this security on May 2. Can't get enough of PEOPLE's Royals coverage? to get the latest updates on Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more! "The things that they're going to miss is, well, everything. I love my country. I always have done. Despite what some people in that country have done," Harry told the BBC. "I miss the U.K., I miss parts of the U.K., of course I do," he continued. "I think that it's really quite sad that I won't be able to show my children my homeland." As the distance between the Duke and his father the goes on, royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith tells PEOPLE in an exclusive cover story, "The underlying issue is trust." Check out which missing WWE star is backstage at SmackDown today (possible SPOILER)

As of this morning, we knew that tonight's (June 13) episode of SmackDown would feature opening round matches in the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments, but we didn't exactly know which ones. That has been clarified, as WWE is now listing the following three tournament matches for the show: Cody Rhodes vs. Damian Priest vs. Andrade vs. Shinsuke Nakamura Randy Orton vs. LA Knight vs. Aleister Black vs. Carmelo Hayes Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Candice LeRae vs. Chelsea Green This is Cody's first match on Raw or SmackDown programming (excluding dark matches) since February, per the data at CageMatch. It also means that Randy Orton is back on SmackDown tonight for the first time since he lost against John Cena at Backlash in early May. Advertisement Speaking of Cena, WWE is advertising him for the show too, along with United States Champion Jacob Fatu and Money in the Bank contract winner Naomi. In addition to the above information that's been officially announced by WWE, Fightful Select is reporting that Kiana James is backstage at SmackDown today. She last wrestled in WWE on a June 2024 episode of Raw, and was reportedly on the sidelines after that due to a leg injury. That she is backstage at SmackDown today doesn't guarantee she will be featured on TV, but it's at least a possibility. There's also yesterday's story about Hikuleo scheduled to be in the building tonight, which has led to speculation about his potential debut in The Bloodline as Talla Tonga. What are you looking forward to the most on tonight's episode of SmackDown, Cagesiders? Advertisement More from

King Charles Just Posted a Taylor Swift Song on Instagram and I'm Convinced He's a Swiftie

Um, is King Charles a Swiftie? I think so! The official Instagram account for the royals recently posted a montage of the king making an appearance at SXSW London. The lively clip was set to the tune of Taylor Swift's "London Boy," a popular track off the singer's 2019 album Lover. The post was captioned: "Shoreditch in the afternoon! Hosted for the first time in Europe, The King has visited @SXSWLondon, a culture, technology and creativity festival in Shoreditch, East London. Originating in Austin, Texas, the festival aims to serve as a platform to showcase the future of the creative industries, supporting emerging artists and innovative projects. Before departing, His Majesty popped into Old Spitalfields Market to meet locals and speak to stallholders working the market's 'Antiques Thursday'." We know for sure his grandkids, Prince George (10) and Prince Charlotte (9) are huge fans of Swift. Last summer, Prince William marked his 42nd birthday by attending the singer's Eras Tour concert with the kids, and the trio even snapped a selfie with the pop star. VICTORIA JONES/POOL/AFP via Getty Images King Charles's visit to the music, film, art and tech festival on June 5 is just one of His Majesty's many appearances of late—a welcome sign, one year after his cancer diagnosis. In fact, during a recent visit to Impact Hub Yorkshire in Little Germany, Bradford, where he visited with local business owners, he was reportedly asked about his health upon meeting florist Safeena Khan. According to Hello! Magazine, the two asked each other how they were doing, with Khan explaining that he responded to her with a thumbs-up gesture when she asked about his health, telling her, "I'd like to think I'm on the better side [of my cancer journey]." This was a positive update just a few weeks after Buckingham Palace issued a statement announcing the king experienced "temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in hospital." Jaimi Joy -The king has been in good spirits as of late, as well, appearing alongside Queen Camilla in Ottawa, Canada, for his first visit to the nation after his coronation, with body language expert Darren Stanton saying, "Charles seemed really pleased to be visiting. His posture was upright, straight, and he wasn't slouching, showing that he was completely engaged in taking it all in. In terms of his facial expressions, Charles seemed genuinely happy to be there—there weren't any signs of a fake or masking smile. The emotions, from a microexpression point of view, were very genuine. He certainly looked powerful while taking on the event." Seems like King Charles is happy and healthy, which is definitely a reason to put Taylor Swift's music on your Instagram post. Want all the latest royal family news sent right to your inbox?
