Bausher Sports Centre launches team jerseys for U16, U19

Observer16-10-2024

MUSCAT: The Bausher Sports Centre (BSC) held the jersey launch for the U16 and U19 teams, which are gearing up to participate in the upcoming Oman Cricket League 2024-2025, representing one of Oman's premier sports clubs based in Athaiba.
At the launch event held at the Star of Cochin Banquet Hall in Ruwi, Neil Paily, owner of the team, announced that BSC Cricket will field different teams in the tourney while a formidable team will be placed in the U16 category, competing in 30-over and 20-over formats. Another specially selected team will contest under the U19 category, playing 50-over and 20-over formats.
While the U16 league will kick off on Saturday and last for six months, with matches to be held at Oman Cricket Academy in Al Amerat, the U19 matches will begin after the conclusion of the Men's Emerging Asia Cup, starting on October 18.
Santhosh Valappil, owner of Braveheart, expressed his pride, saying, "As an alumnus of Indian School Muscat (ISM), it's a proud moment to support children in sports. It's heartening to see kids come from afar to train and participate in these matches. We offer our full support to them. This highlights the growing opportunities for young athletes in Oman and the increasing recognition of sports as a vital career path,' he said.
Deepthi Suresh, an official from The Dance Destination (DDA), added, "Professionals are no longer confined to traditional career paths. It's encouraging to see parents increasingly open to their children pursuing careers in sports and the arts. We are always here to support such initiatives."
Dr Anup Ayyappan, Group CEO of JBC EXPRESS, The Trust Oilfield LLC, and Al Maya International LLC, are joining hands to make this the most sought-after sports event of its kind in the country, the organisers said.
