Tej Pratap Yadav clears interview for commercial pilot training
Former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav has cleared the interview and document verification for the Ab-Initio to Commercial Pilot License (CPL) course, securing 5th rank among 18 selected candidates, as per the Bihar Directorate of Aviation's list released on June 20.
The interview process was conducted from December 16 to 18, 2024.
Tej Pratap, recently expelled from the RJD by his father Lalu Prasad for alleged "irresponsible behaviour," has made headlines over a controversial Facebook post about being in a relationship, which he later claimed was the result of hacking.
His estranged wife Aishwarya Rai later alleged she was misled into the marriage despite his prior involvement with another woman.
Following his expulsion on May 25, Tej Pratap claimed there was a conspiracy to separate him from his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD's current leader. Using Mahabharata references on social media, he insisted his loyalty to Tejashwi remains firm.
Tej Pratap, a two-term MLA and son of former CMs Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, has had a turbulent political journey, including brief cabinet roles. His removal from the party comes just months ahead of the Bihar assembly elections.

CBSE Class 10 Exams Twice A Year From 2026. First Mandatory, Second Optional
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will now allow Class 10 students to take board exams twice in an academic year, starting from 2026, according to officials quoted by PTI on Wednesday. The first exam in February will be mandatory, while the second exam in May will be optional for students who wish to improve their scores. The CBSE has approved the norms for conducting board exams twice a year for Class-10, a move recommended in the new National Education Policy (NEP). 'The first phase will be conducted in February and second in May. The results for the two phases will be announced in April and June, respectively,' CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said. 'It will be mandatory (for students) to appear for the first phase while the second phase will be optional. Students will be allowed to improve their performance in any three subjects out of science, mathematics, social science and languages,' he added. According to the approved norms, Class-10 students from winter-bound schools will get option to appear for the board exams in any of the phases. The internal assessment will be conducted only once during the academic session. The CBSE announced the draft norms in February, which were put in the public domain for stakeholders' feedback. The new NEP recommended that to eliminate the "high-stakes" aspect of the board exams, all students will be allowed to take the exams on up to two occasions during any given school year.

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif ready to hold ‘meaningful dialogue' with India on ‘all outstanding issues'
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Islamabad is ready to participate in a 'meaningful dialogue' with India to address all outstanding issue, news agency PTI said on Wednesday. The Pakistan PM's comments comes nearly two months after India launched Operation Sindoor to destroy Pakistani terror bases in the neighbouring country, in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26. During a conversation with the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday over Telephone, Sharif expressed his desire to hold a dialogue with India over issues that crept up in the aftermath of the terror attack, as per the PTI report. Since April 22, tensions between the two neighbours have escalated. While India has agreed to pause military attacks on Pakistan, diplomatic restrictions still hold between the two countries, with New Delhi keeping the crucial Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance among other restrictions. 'Pakistan is ready to engage in a meaningful dialogue with India on all outstanding issues, including Jammu and Kashmir, water, trade and terrorism,' Shehbaz Sharif said during the conversation, according to the PTI report quoting Radio Pakistan. Earlier in May Sharif had, while in Iran and in Azerbaijan, expressed his willingness to engage in peace talks with India in order to resolve all outstanding issues, including Kashmir, terrorism, water and trade. However, India has repeatedly rejected Pakistan's advances to hold dialogue with it, saying that the only topics India is interested in are the the return of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and the issue of terrorism. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also sent a clear message to Pakistan – India will not hold any peace talk with Pakistan, unless it involves solving the problem of terrorism. External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal also said that the Indus Water Treaty will remain in abeyance till the time Pakistan credibly and irrevocably abjures its support to cross-border terrorism 'just like Prime Minister Narendra Modi said: 'terror and talks cannot go together, terror and trade cannot go together, and water and blood cannot flow together'.' India has also stopped all forms of trade with Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, and closed its airspace for all Pakistani aircraft. Following Operation Sindoor, Pakistan launched military attacks on India, forcing New Delhi to launch more retaliatory attacks on the neighbour. Four days of intense armed exchange followed, after which India and Pakistan agreed to stop the military actions on May 10.

India going through undeclared Emergency now, says Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday (June 25, 2025) claimed that the country is going through an undeclared Emergency as the "Sangh Parivar government" is trying to do away with the Constitution. Mr. Vijayan made the allegation in a Facebook post in which he described the Emergency declared by the then-Indira Gandhi government in 1975 as "the darkest chapter in the history of Indian democracy." The CPI(M) veteran noted that this dark chapter has completed half a century. He said the declaration of Emergency on June 25, 1975, was not a sudden or unexpected event but the "brutal culmination of years of authoritarian tendencies and the erosion of civil liberties in India." Mr. Vijayan also said that the 50th anniversary of the Emergency serves as a reminder of the "horror" of the current political situation in the country. "The country is currently going through an undeclared Emergency. If Indira Gandhi abused the Constitution, then today the Sangh Parivar government is trying to do away with it," he alleged in the post, which also carried a link to an article on the Emergency published in the CPI(M) mouthpiece, Deshabhimani. Mr. Vijayan claimed that the Emergency is not merely a lesson in history for those who lived through it but remains a "burning memory of state terror."
