The Lewis Hamilton and Leonardo DiCaprio-backed vegan burger chain, Neat Burger, is closing down all its branches in the UK. Neat Burger, which was launched in 2019, had eight branches across London but now only operates one store, in Camden.
Neat Burger closed its Soho branch earlier in April and the Camden store will close at the end of the ongoing month.
Why Hamilton-backed Neat Burger is closing down in UK?
Neat Burger is considered the first international plant-based burger chain and also had branches in New York and Dubai, which were closed down in 2024. The decision to close the branches outside the UK and in Great Britain was taken after the company suffered massive financial losses till 2023, as per a report in The Sun.
As per reports, Neat Burger made £7.9 million losses in 2022 and £4.7 million in 2021.

'We can confirm that Neat Soho and Camden restaurants will be closing by the end of this month,' Neat Burger said in a statement. 'At this stage, we have no further comment.'
Their only operational overseas branch is in Milan now.
Seven-time Formula 1 champion Hamilton has been involved with Neat Burger since the launch as he aimed to 'revolutionize the way we view meat-free food,' while Hollywood star DiCaprio joined the team as a 'strategic investor' in 2022.
Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is also part of the team backing the chain.
'I think it will be a game-changer,' Hamilton said in 2019. 'I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of it.'
It has to be noted that Hamilton has been on a plant-based diet for a few years now and the switch happened before 2019.
Meanwhile, he is having a tough time currently in the 2025 season of the Formula 1 after switching to Ferrari from Mercedes. The 40-year-old is seventh in the driver standings after five races, 69 points behind leader Oscar Piastri of McLaren.
Ferrari are fourth in the constructors' championships, behind McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull.

'They Have To Consider...': Ferrari Boss Fred Vasseur Hits Out At Italian Media Reports

Last Updated: Vasseur rebuked reports in Italian media following speculation over the 57-year-old's future with the iconic Prancing Horse amid challenging results. Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur lambasted reports in Italian media following speculation over the 57-year-old's future with the iconic Prancing Horse amid testing results. Star driver Lewis Hamilton backed the Frenchman amid rumours surrounding his tenure at the helm of the famous Italian racing outfit. 'First, I have to stay calm because I will have to talk to the stewards. It's some Italian media. It's not all Italian media. And it's not about myself, I think, because this, I can manage," Vasseur said on the sidelines of the Canadian Grand Prix. 'It's more about the people of the team. To throw their name like this, I think it's just disrespectful for them, for the family," he derided. 'It's really hurting the team. At one stage, it's a lack of focus. When you are fighting for the championship, every single detail makes a difference," the Frenchman said. Vasseur added that the was aware of the risks and esponsibilities that accompany the job of the principal of the fabled Scuderia Ferrari. 'I knew when I joined, when I took the position, that you are exposed, this I think it's quite easy to manage, but for me it's more for the people of the team," he explained. 'They are working very hard — to decide one day that this one will be replaced, this one will be replaced, this one is useless," he elucidated. 'Honestly, it's very, very harsh because these journalists — and I'm not putting everybody in the same basket — they have to consider that these people, they have family," he pointed out. 'They have wives, they have kids, and this is completely unrespectful. Now, I don't want to speak any more about this stupid subject," he signed off. There were talks linking Red Bull boss Chistian Horner to the job of Ferrari team Principal, but Horner shut down talks of a move away from RB. 'There are so many rumours, but I'm not going anywhere. I'm fully committed to Red Bull. We've got so much good stuff coming through the pipeline. We're on the verge of launching our own engine for 2026 which has been a massive project and undertaking," the Brit said. 'Of course, it's always flattering to be associated with other teams, particularly teams like Ferrari, but I'm not going anywhere, not even to Alpine," Horner added. Bill Simmons Fuels Rumors: Could Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James Headline a $5 Billion NBA Rival League?

Sportswriter Bill Simmons doubts ESPN taking over Inside the NBA from TNT (Image Source: Getty) The NBA rumor mill has brought up a sensational speculation this June, as prominent sports commentator Bill Simmons has suggested that Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James could be the headline act for a proposed $5 billion international basketball league poised to rival the NBA. The rumor, amplified by Simmons' recent podcast discussions, has become the talk of the moment through basketball circles and raised questions about the future of the sport's global landscape. The Vision: A Global, Star-Studded League According to Bill Simmons, a group of investors—reportedly seeking to raise $5 billion—aims to launch a high-profile league featuring six men's and six women's teams playing in major cities around the world. The league's format would be reminiscent of Formula 1, with teams traveling to international hotspots like Singapore and Monaco, staging multi-day events that blend games with concerts and entertainment. This ambitious model is designed to create a festival-like atmosphere, making each stop a must-see global event. LeBron James: The Ultimate Draw OKC Boredom, a Rival NBA League and 'The Rehearsal' with Chuck Klosterman | The Bill Simmons Podcast Central to the intrigue is the potential involvement of LeBron James . While LeBron James has not publicly commented on the rumors, Bill Simmons claims that Maverick Carter—LeBron's longtime friend and business partner—is serving as an adviser to the project and is 'dangling LeBron' as a major selling point to attract investors. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo Carter's involvement lends credibility and has fueled speculation that James, now 40 and still performing at an elite level, could either play, serve as an ambassador, or take an equity stake in the new league. Bill Simmons speculates that the league is targeting aging superstars—players like James and Kevin Durant —who might be enticed by lucrative offers and the chance to shape a new chapter in basketball history. For James, whose NBA future is in flux as he nears the end of his playing career, such a move could be both a legacy-defining and financially transformative opportunity. A Real Threat to the NBA? The NBA has not faced a serious 5-on-5 rival since merging with the ABA in 1976. The proposed league's mix of global reach, co-ed teams, and entertainment could present the most significant challenge in decades. While the NBA's annual revenues now exceed $11 billion, and its stars command salaries north of $50 million per season, the allure of equity, international exposure, and new business models could tempt even the league's biggest names. No official timeline or team locations have been announced, and James' direct involvement remains unconfirmed. Yet, the presence of Maverick Carter and the scale of the investment have given the project unprecedented momentum. If LeBron James does indeed headline this venture, basketball could be on the cusp of a new era—one that redefines the sport's power structure and global appeal. Motor racing-Ferrari F1 boss slams disrespectful and damaging rumours

* Attention language in para eight MONTREAL, June 13 (Reuters) - Ferrari Formula One boss Fred Vasseur slammed media reports in Italy that he said were disrespectful and distracting for employees and damaging the team. Speaking a day after seven-times world champion Lewis Hamilton defended his boss as the man to lead the team back to the top, Vasseur showed he was hurting as he gave his own personal response. Ferrari are second to McLaren in the constructors' standings, but 197 points behind, and have not won a Formula One championship since 2008. Some media reports in Italy have suggested Vasseur's position is at risk, along with other senior employees, and that driver Charles Leclerc could be looking for a move elsewhere. Hamilton's future has also been questioned. "It's not about myself, I believe, because this I can manage," said Vasseur, who started out saying he would have to remain calm. "It's more about the people of the team. To throw their names like this, I think it's just disrespectful for them, for the family. "Perhaps it's to give shit to the team, but in this case, I don't see the point," he said of the speculation, a comment that could put him in hot water with the governing FIA for using bad language. He suggested it might be the only way some reporters existed. "This is probably more the reason, but it's really hurting the team... when you are fighting for the championship, every single detail makes a difference. From the beginning of the weekend, we are just thinking about this. "If it's their target to put the team in this situation, they reached their goal, but I think it's not like this that we'll be able to win a championship -- and at least not with this kind of journalists around us." The Frenchman said he knew what he was taking on when he became principal in 2023, and could handle it, but it was hard for employees with families to read that their positions might be at risk. He pointed out that Leclerc had a long-term contract and repeatedly said that he wanted to stay. "Each single interview from the beginning of the season, he's telling that he wants to stay with Ferrari, he wants to win with Ferrari, his future is with Ferrari," said the team boss. "But every single Monday, we have articles telling that Charles will go next year. At one stage, I don't know what we have to do." (Reporting by Alan Baldwin, editing by Pritha Sarkar)
