Oklahoma Sooners trio combines for 5-inning no-hitter in 8-0 win
Isabela Smith, Kierston Deal, and Patyn Monticelli combined to throw a no-hitter Wednesday as the No. 1-ranked Oklahoma Sooners handled East Texas A&M 8-0.
The Sooners boosted their record to 27-0 in the five-inning victory and have won 30 straight games dating back to the Women's College World Series semifinals in 2024. East Texas A&M fell to 7-22 in just their third Division I softball season. The school known as Texas A&M-Commerce until this academic year never stood a real chance.
OU led 3-0 in the first after bringing just its first three batters to the plate. Gabbie Garcia and Sydney Barker hit back-to-back RBI singles, and Ailana Agbayani followed with an RBI groundout to provide the team with all the runs it would need. Garcia's first inning single made it 13 consecutive games with a hit.
Smith struck out four of the six batters she faced. Deal induced two groundouts and a flyout in her single inning of work. And Monticelli struck out two in her two innings. A walk with two outs in the fourth inning was followed by a wild pitch for the staff's only flaw. Monticelli responded with a strikeout to end the inning.
Garcia finished 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. The true freshman raised her batting average to .406 in the process. Kasidi Pickering went 1-for-1 with a double, two walks, and three runs, scoring every time she reached base. She's

The 5-foot-5 Bell also shined defensively with a fielding percentage of .991 after having three errors in 319 chances. During her career at Cal, Bell hit .305 with 32 home runs and 108 RBIs Bell is expected to replace Bri Ellis, the nation's top collegiate player last season with 26 home runs this season for the Razorbacks, who finished one win away from the Women's College World Series. Elite 2026 4-star Edge sends message after his Texas A&M official visit One of Texas A&M's first 2026 commitments in the 2026 class has now made it known to the rest of the country that he is 100% locked in with the Aggies, as four-star defensive end Jordan Carter will reportedly shut down his recruitment during his recent interview with TexAgs recruiting analyst Jason Howell, who has been steadily tracking Carter's recent uptick in outside attention. Coach Mike Elko has continued to impress both the fan base and the Aggie media with his ability to recruit the state of Georgia, which began with the landing of 2026 four-star Aaron Gregory, followed by Jordan Carter in late October. During his 2024 junior season with Douglas County HS, Carter recorded 62 tackles, 35 solo tackles, 13 sacks, and 17 tackles for loss. According to 247Sports, Carter is currently positioned as the 114th-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 14th-ranked Edge, and the 10th-ranked prospect in Georgia. Former Prairie View A&M football player Jackson Bailey has died, the program announced on Tuesday. The cause of death for the 22-year-old has not been revealed. Bailey joined the football program for the 2023 season but did not appear in any games for the university located in Texas. 4 Jackson Bailey of Prairie View A&M died on Tuesday due to an unknown cause. 'The Prairie View A&M University Department of Athletics extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, teammates and fraternity brothers of Jackson 'Jacks' Bailey, a cherished member of the Panther football program and the PVAMU community,' the university's statement read. 'Jackson joined the football team for the 2023–24 season. Although he did not appear in any official games, his presence and energy were felt deeply within the locker room and across campus.
