Authorities seized a diary from YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra's house in Hisar, Haryana, after her arrest on espionage charges
Authorities have seized a diary from the house of YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was booked under espionage charges last week. Malhotra, a resident of Haryana's Hisar, came under the radar of agencies for her trips to Pakistan.
The influencer, who runs a YouTube channel 'Travel with JO', has been arrested for allegedly sharing sensitive information and being in continuous contact with a Pakistani citizen.
As the probe continues, a diary has been seized from the house of Malhotra that mentions 'Love you".
'Tell Savita to bring fruits. Take care of home. I will be back soon," read the diary, which also mentioned some medicines.

Officials are investigating about who Savita is or whether she is close to Malhotra's family.
Superintendent of Police, Hisar, Shashank Kumar Sawan said that Malhotra was being developed as an asset.
'They were developing her (Jyoti Malhotra) as an asset. She was in touch with other YouTube influencers, and they were also in touch with the PIOs… She used to go to Pakistan, like on sponsored trips… She was in Pakistan before the Pahalgam attack, and the investigation is on to establish linkages if there are any. We are also investigating, as we have leads that other people were also involved with her," Sawan said.
The Hisar SP said that Malhotra had visited Pakistan multiple times and China once.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has recovered the YouTuber's visa application form for her Bangladesh visit.

Malhotra also visited the scenic resort town of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir weeks before terrorists shot dead 26 people.

V-Unbeatable cheating case: HC slams MBVV police for tardy investigation
MUMBAI: The Bombay high court on Tuesday rapped the Mira Bhayander-Vasai Virar (MBVV) Police, stating that the senior officers adopted a 'calculated way' to defend their juniors. This came in response to the cheating accusations made by the dance group, Vikas Unbeatable, renowned for winning America's Got Talent, against their manager. The troupe had approached the high court through advocate Shravan Giri, alleging that no action was taken by the police on their complaint against their manager, Om Prakash Chauhan, for alleged embezzlement of funds. Their plea claimed that the MBVV police refused to file an FIR against Chauhan when they first approached them on July 24, 2024. No action was taken after escalating the matter to the DCP on July 25. The petition also highlighted that when the group members, along with their parents and guardians, went to demand their dues, police officers at the scene used 'criminal force' against them. Public prosecutor Hiten Venegaonkar stated that the matter has been looked into and as a result of it, the then Investigating officer was exonerated. A report was filed by the assistant commissioner of police on January 23, 2025, which contained 22 points as regards the conduct of the officer. He further stated that a fresh enquiry shall be conducted against the officer by an officer not below the rank of additional commissioner of police, Mira-Bhayandar, which shall be completed within a period of six weeks. In response to these submissions, advocate Shravan Giri, appearing for the petitioner, submitted that all the relevant material in support of the 22 points shall be submitted to the office of the additional commissioner of police within a period of two weeks. 'Needless to clarify that the period for completion of enquiry being six weeks shall be reckoned from the date of the petitioner submitting the relevant document and material in support of his contention against the officer,' he added. The division bench of justices Nitin Sambre and Sachin Deshmukh discarded the report of the assistant commissioner of police, observing that the 22 points were not looked into and dealt with in the Enquiry Report. It directed the authorities to make the enquiry report available to the petitioner by July 31, highlighting that the petitioner shall have every right to question the report and the adverse conduct of the police inspector, who had earlier acted as an Investigating Officer in the matter. The dance group, which first gained fame as the runner-up on the reality show 'Dance Plus,' claimed that they never received the prize money or performance fees. The dancers stated that they only received meagre payments ranging from ₹3,000 to ₹5,000, even though during their 60-day stay in the United States for America's Got Talent, they were supposed to receive a $25 ( ₹2,084) daily allowance. Subsequently, with no visible progress in the investigation, the case was transferred to the Economic Offence Wing (EOW). After the inquiry was conducted, the court found out that the authorities did not address the troupe's grievances properly.

Vance, Rubio played key roles in India-Pak. deescalation: Trump nominee
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio played a critical role in urging restraint during the recent India-Pakistan crisis, President Donald Trump's nominee for Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Paul Kapur, told lawmakers during his Senate confirmation hearing on Tuesday. 'As somebody from the outside looking in, it appeared to me that the Secretary [of State] and the Vice President were actively engaged in using their good offices to encourage de-escalation,' Mr. Kapur told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. 'I think that probably had a salutary effect. Ultimately, India and Pakistan made their own decisions to step back.' Mr. Kapur, currently a professor at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, was responding to questions about rising tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours following the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which India has attributed to Pakistan-based groups. Sen. Chris Van Hollen said he had good discussions with the Indian and Pakistani parliamentary delegations that were in Washington last week in the aftermath of the India-Pakistan crisis. 'Fragile ceasefire' 'President Trump and Secretary Rubio have taken credit for bringing about the ceasefire. As you probably already know, the Indian government has denied that the ceasefire resulted from American mediation. But regardless, there's a fragile ceasefire in place. Espionage case: Hisar court rejects YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra's bail plea
A Hisar court on Wednesday denied bail to YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested last month on espionage charges. A day earlier, Jyoti's lawyer Kumar Mukesh had filed the bail application and the matter was placed before judicial magistrate first class Sunil Kumar today, who rejected the bail plea. On June 9, the court extended her judicial custody by two weeks till June 23. On May 26, Jyoti was sent to 14-day judicial custody by the court. Talking to HT over the phone, her lawyer Kumar Mukesh said that he had objected to the sections imposed against Jyoti Malhotra in the first information report (FIR). 'As the investigation is currently underway in the case, the police were against her bail plea. After hearing both sides, the court rejected the bail plea. She went to Pakistan High Commission in Delhi in 2023 and at that time, the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was in force but the Hisar police booked her under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, which was Section 124-A (sedition ) under the IPC at that time. This section was kept in abeyance, which is why she can't be prosecuted this,' Kumar added. He said that the FIR was registered on the basis of her questioning on May 15, which is not legally permissible because a person can't become a witness against himself/herself. 'The police could not place any evidence which proves that she was involved in spying. The Hisar superintendent of police (SP) himself said that she had no access to any military or defence related information but she has connections with some Pakistani operatives. If they have not recovered any information from her possession related to sharing sensitive information, then Sections 3 (spying) and 5 (communicating secret information to unauthorised individuals) of the Official Secrets Act, should be dropped from the FIR. The police should provide call details with such operatives. The police will have to prove that any of her Pakistani contacts are intelligence operatives,' he added. Travel blogger Jyoti, 33, a resident of Hisar, was arrested on May 16 for allegedly sharing sensitive information with Pakistani operatives.
