, last seen in Gudiya Rani , has joined the cast of Jhanak as Arshi, one of the lead characters following the show's recent 20-year leap. Speaking about her role, she shared, 'I've always wanted to work with producer . Commenting on the show's shift, Ashlesha said she doesn't base her decisions on TRPs. ' Gudiya Rani didn't chart in ratings and I played the lead role, while my negative role in Anupamaa was part of a top-rated show. I commit fully to any role I take on,' she added. I don't want to play a 50-year-old: Gaurav M Sharma on exiting Jhanak
Gaurav M Sharma Gaurav M Sharma joined Jhanak just a month ago, but his role has ended owing to the time leap that the show has just taken. While he is understandably disappointed, he is clear that he doesn't want to play an older character. 'Jhanak has taken a 20- year leap and I wouldn't want to play a 50-year-old guy. I quit Anupamaa earlier for the same reason,' he says. The actor shares that he has consistently tried to avoid being typecast, yet he's often offered grey or negative characters. He says, 'After I played the antagonist in Diya Aur Baati Hum, makers thought of me for similar roles. I wanted to break that stereotype and hence took a break. After a short hiatus, I acted in OTT shows, but later realised how TV is a mass medium and lucrative. Today, I am glad that I am offered different kinds of roles. ' He adds, 'I'm not limiting myself to just TV. I want to do more OTT and films, but TV is a great mass medium, and it helps me survive.' Currently, the show has taken a leap and Arjit Taneja and Riya Sharma are playing the lead roles.
