The Ring is an American boxing magazine that was first published in 1922 as a wrestling and boxing magazine. Two years later, it shifted to exclusive boxing news.

Currently, the magazine is owned by a Saudi Arabian-based boxing promoter, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh; he is also a court adviser and the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia. He bought the magazine from Oscar De La Hoya late last year.
'The Ring Magazine scores a Gold Lion and a Silver Lion in the entertainment for sport category at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creative Advertising. A legendary boxing brand reimagined for today, it continues to earn global creative acclaim with a mission to elevate the future of the sport,' said Ring Magazine on X.
The Gold Lion was an award for innovation in sport, and the Silver Lion for sports live experience. His Excellency Turki reposted the same on his X page to celebrate the great milestone. Since 1924, the magazine has been publishing and printing the magazines monthly, but since late 2022, it switched to digital publication and offering occasional special interest print issues. Oscar De La Hoya got a great offer from Turki, and that's how he parted ways with his long-term asset.
'Earlier this week, I finalized a deal to acquire 100% of The Ring Magazine, and I want to make a few things clear: the print version of the magazine will return immediately after a two-year hiatus, and it will be available in the US and UK markets,' said Turki on X after he bought the magazine. He promised to continue with the publication just like it was before; he also confirmed that the magazine would be completely independent and would have no connection with Riyadh Season. He promised to do a makeover of the website and also launch a mobile app.

Japan Is Cracking Down on Host Clubs Where Men Flirt for Money

At 10 p.m. on a recent Friday at a bar in Tokyo's Kabukicho red-light district, young men in suits weave between tables, pouring drinks for their first customers of the evening. Under the glimmer of chandeliers, 28-year-old So checks his reflection in the mirror and explains how he became a top earner at Ai Honten, one of hundreds of host clubs in the neighborhood, where women pay to be entertained by male companions. 'No one's going to spend money on someone who looks or smells like a flabby salaryman you'd see on a train, so you need to take care of your body, your clothes, the way you smell, everything,' said So, who cuts a dashing figure in his navy suit and shock of bleached-blond hair. 'And you need to show an interest in 'the princess,'' he added, referring to customers who pay hundreds of dollars for drinks and a few hours of his attention.
