Lightweight division set for exciting 2025 as BRAVE CF reveals official rankings
The latest rankings for BRAVE Combat Federation's Lightweight division have been revealed, with reigning champion Abdysalam Kubanychbek sitting on top.
Considered one of the most dominant champions in BRAVE CF history, Abdysalam Kubanychbek broke the Lightweight title curse this year and successfully defended the title at BRAVE CF 87, securing a decision win over Rauli Tutarauli. The victory extended Abdysalam's undefeated run in BRAVE Combat Federation and marked his ninth straight win in the organization.
Georgia's Rauli Tutarauli, who challenged Abdysalam for the title and delivered a strong performance, holds the first contender position. Former Interim Title contender Olzhas Eskaraev occupies the second position following his impressive performance at BRAVE CF 84. Olzhas is currently riding a two-fight winning streak in the organization.
Undefeated Bahraini superstar Ramazan Gitinov is ranked third after his dominant first-round win at BRAVE CF 82 in 2024. Ramazan has been unstoppable in his professional MMA career, finishing all of his opponents so far, making him a challenger to watch out for.
Former title contender Kamil Magomedov holds the fourth position, while David Forster completes the top five rankings in the Lightweight division.

BRAVE CF 96 delivers fireworks
BRAVE Combat Federation returned to Slovenia with a historic night of fights at BRAVE CF 96, and it was nothing short of spectacular. From local heroes to rising international stars, the event at Hala Tivoli was packed with emotion, knockouts, and championship drama. In the main event, Mohammad Fakhreddine cemented his legendary status in BRAVE CF history by reclaiming the Middleweight World Championship. The Lebanese superstar and BRAVE CF's only ever two-division champion finished reigning Light Heavyweight king Erko Jun via TKO at 4:41 of Round 1, proving once again that he is one of the greatest to ever step foot in the BRAVE CF cage. The co-main event saw Serbia's Borislav Nikolic shock the world by submitting champion Nicholas Hwende with a slick ninja choke in Round 4 (1:40), becoming the new BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Champion and closing a wild chapter of verbal warfare with a statement win. The heavyweight showdown between undefeated titans Miha Frlic and Shah Kamali had the arena erupting, delivering one of the most thrilling battles in BRAVE CF heavyweight history. Despite enduring multiple knockdowns, Kamali showed incredible heart and resilience, pushing the fight into the third round. But it was Frlic who sealed the moment, unleashing a final barrage to earn a TKO victory just 29 seconds into Round 3, staying unbeaten and making a bold statement in the division. Earlier on the card, Monika Kucinic delivered validation in her rematch against Sofiia Bagishvili, ending the bout with a stunning TKO at 4:55 of Round 2. The local favorite thrilled the Ljubljana crowd with a career-defining performance. In the Flyweight division, all eyes were on the unofficial tournament to determine who could challenge Muhammad Mokaev. Marciano Ferreira took a massive leap forward, defeating Bidzina Gavashelishvili via unanimous decision in a highstakes technical battle. Slovenian fan-favorite Domen Drnovsek returned to winning ways with a dominant performance over Filip Guša, while Kiril Negru opened the card with a brutal takedown-heavy fight, earning a clear unanimous decision against Róbert Guth. With title changes, local heroes rising and falling, and a main event that added another golden chapter to Fakhreddine's legacy, BRAVE CF 96 will go down as one of the biggest nights in European MMA history.

Bahrainis chase global shot
Bahraini youth basketball players are a single tournament win away from the global spotlight, thanks to a landmark upgrade to the Bahrain Summer 3x3 Basketball Championship. The final round of the tournament will now qualify its winner directly for the prestigious FIBA 3x3 World Tour, offering local talent a first-of-its-kind gateway to elite international competition. Global breakthrough The decision by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) to raise the tournament's status from Lite Quest to Quest places Bahraini players in contention for a world-stage debut. It is a rare chance for teams composed entirely of local players aged 16 and above to make their mark alongside the best in the sport. With 3x3 basketball gaining traction worldwide and solidifying its place as an Olympic discipline, this development is being seen as a transformative moment for Bahrain's basketball ecosystem, particularly for its emerging youth players. Support driving change The Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA), under the guidance of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, has been championing the development of 3x3 basketball in the Kingdom. The international recognition by FIBA is a nod to these sustained efforts. In addition to the tournament upgrade, the BBA has introduced a dedicated logo for the 3x3 format, establishing a stronger visual identity and paving the way for deeper local engagement and recognition of the sport. One chance to win Commenting on the milestone, BBA Secretary-General Ahmed Hafez said, 'We consider this step the beginning of a long journey towards strengthening the Kingdom's representation in major tournaments. We are working to create the appropriate environment for Bahraini players to enter international competitions with confidence and competence.' Teams interested in competing must register before 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, via the BBA's social media platforms. Eligibility is restricted to Bahraini nationals aged over 16. To reach the final, teams must participate in at least three qualifying rounds, with the top two from each stage advancing. Only one team will secure the final Quest victory, and with it, a golden ticket to the FIBA 3x3 World Tour.
