True meaning behind Sabrina Carpenter's controversial new album cover revealed

Sabrina Carpenter sparked major controversy on Thursday when she unveiled her raunchy new album cover, and now the fans believe they've exposed the true meaning behind it. She revealed the album cover on social media: A striking photo of Carpenter on her knees, in a short dress and heels, pawing at the leg of a man standing over her. He's pulling on Carpenter's blonde hair like a leash in the racy snap. Controversy was quick to hit social media, with thousands of fans calling out the star for being 'degrading' and 'anti-feminist'. However, now some fans believe they've exposed the true meaning behind the shock cover, and what Carpenter is really trying to portray. A fan speculated that it's all about power, writing: 'It's going to be her taking control of the 'men use women as objects' narrative. Every one of her songs is her being in control. It's supposed to be ironic. I'm here for it.' Another fan agreed, tweeting: One person said: 'I'm seeing a lot of discourse about Sabrina Carpenter's new album cover… for those of you who may lack critical thinking skills, the cover is clearly satirical with a deeper meaning, portraying how the public views her, believing she is just for the male gaze.' 'This is gonna be her feminist man ending record!' insisted another. 'Sexually promiscuous women have been referred to as female dogs (bitches) throughout history. The album visual work is definitely ironic and you'll see that once the album is out.' The theories come after Carpenter was slammed on social media when the cover was first revealed to the world. 'Hey can we get a new cover that doesn't suck? Feels very against the powerful busy woman character that you built up …' remarked one angry fan. While another tweeted: 'Girl is this a humiliation ritual?' Others called the star out for releasing such a sexually charged album cover despite having young fans. 'Veryyyy weird had to unstan her bc of this just disgusting especially considering 90% of her fanbase are 12 year olds,' insisted one critic on Twitter. Carpenter announced that her seventh studio album Man's Best Friend will be released on August 29, following the release of her new single Manchild last week. It's been a huge year for the star, whose breakthrough record Short n' Sweet still sits at number three on the ARIA charts almost a year after its release.

The Australian, whose tennis career has been blighted by significant injuries over the past three years, took to Instagram over the last 24 hours for a Q and A session with his 4.1 million followers. Using the caption 'Don't hold back, ask whatever', Kyrgios was hit with a wide range of questions and chose to respond to a number of them using Instagram stories. Among queries about his tennis career and his advice for others, the Canberran was also asked a question by someone who has been following his styling trends. Kyrgios replied with a video of him driving and the caption: '30 is unreal – not even in my prime yet. And shaved heads is UNREAL.' You can see the new look in the video below. Cracks had appeared in Kyrgios and Hatzi's relationship earlier this year. In a telling sign in this day and age, they both removed each other from their Instagram bios before Hatzi broke her silence on the rumours in April. 'It's been great,' Hatzi told The Daily Telegraph when asked about her life since the romance ended. 'I'm still going on with work and I have a few different brands that I'm working with at the moment.' She went on to insist that it's important to 'put yourself first' in life. Naturally, Kyrgios – who has stayed quiet about the details of the separation – was also asked about Hatzi during his fan session. 'Will you ever talk on the split with C or keeping it private?' was one question. He said: 'Things happen. I wish her nothing but the best. So many incredible memories that will stay with me.' Kyrgios was also asked what he thought of another former partner, tennis player Anna Kalinskaya, who later had a relationship with current world No. 1 Jannik Sinner which ended in May. Earlier this month, Kyrgios got tongues wagging after a public display with a woman being called a Hatzi 'look-alike'. Kyrgios began chatting with former Love Island reality TV contestant Mia Dalkos. It has not gone unnoticed that Dalkos, whose real name is Efthimia, has unmistakably similar features to the woman Kyrgios recently broke up with. Kyrgios and popular fashion designer Dalkos caused a stir with flirty recent social media engagements. Dalkos captured Kyrgios' attention on Instagram when she shared a video of herself glammed up at a hair salon. Kyrgios sparked romance rumours with Mia Dalkos (left) and his post on Hatzi. Photos: Instagram Kyrgios commented on the post by sharing a 'double eyes' emoji — a less than subtle way of showing Dalkos that he was interested in the post. The 23-year-old South Australian responded to the former Wimbledon finalist by posting a shy smiling emoji of her own. The 30-year-old Canberran followed up his first message by posting a blunt 'Beautiful' comment on a second photo Dalkos shared the following day. Kyrgios was also in the news in the past week after it emerged he had been axed from a commentary role with the BBC. Reports first landed on Wednesday morning this week the Australian tennis star has been told his services will not be required when the network begins its coverage of Wimbledon, beginning June 30. (Photo by Simon Bruty/Anychance/Getty Images) It comes after his appointment to the broadcaster's team for the event last year sparked uproar. In another body blow, The Telegraph reports Kyrgios will also not appear during ESPN's coverage of the tournament, despite working with the American broadcaster during the Australian Open in 2024 and 2025. It has been a brutal few weeks for the 30-year-old after he was last month forced to pull out of his plans to play doubles with partner Jordan Thompson at the French Open. Citing a recently flared up knee injury, Kyrgios was forced to pull out on the eve of the event and he last week confirmed he will not play at Wimbledon this year because of injuries.
