Ella Toone Launches Amicizia Creative Agency To Assist Women's Players
Ella Toone and James Marshall, co-founders of the Amicizia Creative Agency
Manchester United's record goalscorer Ella Toone has launched her latest off-field venture, fronting a new creative agency aimed at helping women promote their own brand.
Together with co-founder James Marshall, the England star hopes to elevate fellow female professionals to maximise their earning potential. With over 50% of Women's Super League players currently without sponsorship, Amicizia is determined to shift the landscape.
As Toone prepares to help the Lionesses defend their European title in Switzerland next month, Amicizia Studios will act as a creative hub producing Toone's own content. It will also serve as a platform to connect female footballers with brand partnerships, marketing campaigns, and production opportunities.
In their bold vision statement, Amicizia say that "we're not just here to get players a few deals, we're here to build them into household names, showing off their personalities, getting them the recognition and the proper fees, they deserve."
The only England player in history to score for her country in a major tournament quarter final, semi-final and final, Toone has repeatedly proven herself to be a woman who delivers on the biggest occasions. Her infectious personality and humor have also endeared her to a wider audience outside the game.

The hope is that Amacizia, meaning 'friendship' in Italian will be a creative agency that brings that unique blend of passion, hustle, and authenticity to everything they do. The cornicello, meaning horn in Italian, is the agency's logo. The chili-shaped amulet is traditionally believed to bring good luck and offer protection from negative energies.
Those using Amacizia's services should only look at Toone to realise how she, together with Marshall, has created numerous off-field opportunities for herself. In 2023, she trademarked her own name, launching the ET7 brand which included her own academy for young girls. Together with close friend, Alessia Russo, Toone is also one half of a hugely successful podcast series - The Tooney and Russo Show - which has now been broadcast on BBC Television.
Toone revealed 'I've always loved being creative and making people laugh. James and I have worked with amazing brands over the years, and we now want to help more brands break into women's football connecting them with top talent and building meaningful campaigns'.
According to Deloitte, women's sports fans are twice as likely to purchase products endorsed by female athletes compared to other influencers. Toone added that 'off the pitch, I think it's important to have things you enjoy. For me, content and production are fun, and I want to learn more and do more in that space.'
Toone's manager, Marshall will lead the agency, utilising connections garnered from 15 years of experience in PR, marketing and communications across the sports industry. Toone said 'he's alright you know, he believed in me from the start, so he's sound, can't shut him up though, knows and chats to everyone. I still don't know what he does, but he does everything for me.'
Marshall jokes 'she's not a bad kid, I took a chance on her and to be honest she's delivered, sometimes makes me laugh and she gets it. I keep missing her goals though especially at Wembley so probably need to work on that.'

'Ella's personality goes beyond football; she's a natural storyteller. Through Amicizia, we want to give brands, athletes, and organisations the tools and expertise to create outstanding campaigns and content in the women's game. The women's football space is evolving fast, and brands are more engaged than ever. We're excited to help tell these stories and drive impactful collaborations.'
Amicizia Studios will offer a range of creative services, including content development (podcasts, documentaries, YouTube series), creative consultancy, public relations, and marketing with a focus on connecting brands with the right talent and audiences.
Toone is believed to be the first British women's soccer player to have her own creative agency. The agency's debut projects will focus on collaborations in the sport, fashion, and lifestyle sectors.

BBC Apologises After David Walliams' Nazi Salute During Would I Lie To You? Taping
The BBC has apologised for David Walliams' 'unacceptable' behaviour during a recent taping of a Would I Lie To You? special. Earlier this week, the former Little Britain star was a guest on the pre-recorded Christmas special of the popular BBC panel show. During the recording, fellow guest Helen George attempted to convince her opponents that she once injured herself while waving on the official Strictly Come Dancing tour. As she demonstrated the wave that supposedly caused the injury, BBC News reported that David joined with increasingly exaggerated hand gestures, eventually culminating in him performing a Nazi salute. They also claimed that at one point he performed a Nazi salute with one hand and a sexual gesture with the other. One audience member told BBC News: 'The atmosphere was uncomfortable and weird. I think Rob Brydon wanted to get past it as quickly as he could. 'David Walliams' teammates looked unsure what to do and were not laughing... It was like an elephant in the room after that as the incident was early on in the recording and so the remainder of the show felt weird.' A spokesperson for the broadcaster later said: 'The use of such an offensive gesture is completely unacceptable and we apologise to all at the recording for the offence caused.' Meanwhile, a representative for Banijay – the production company who makes Would I Lie To You? – also issued an apology, insisting: 'Any attempt at humour regarding this deeply offensive gesture, whether broadcast or not, is completely unacceptable in any context. 'It was immediately acknowledged during the recording that this segment would not be broadcast under any circumstances and we apologise to those who were at the recording for any offence caused.' HuffPost UK has also contacted David Walliams' team for comment. BBC News noted that David has made only a handful of terrestrial TV appearances in recent history, following his departure from Britain's Got Talent in 2022 after 10 years on the panel. David's exit came after recordings of him making disparaging and sexually explicit remarks about numerous BGT hopefuls on the set of the show in 2020, for which he later apologised, were leaked to the press. Tottenham confirm appointment of Thomas Frank as new manager
Tottenham have confirmed the appointment of Thomas Frank as their new manager. The 51-year-old Dane joins from Brentford on a contract that runs until 2028, and succeeds Ange Postecoglou, who delivered Europa League glory to end Spurs' 17-year trophy drought but was sacked because of dismal results in the Premier League. Spurs moved to line up Frank before dismissing Postecoglou last Friday, holding talks via intermediaries and plainly keen to avoid a protracted search for the person to lead them forward after a season in which they finished 17th with 38 points. Only once in club history have they had a worse league record – in 1914-15. Advertisement Related: Ange Postecoglou's triumphant sacking holds the key to modern football | Jonathan Liew When Frank, who has impressed with his work in charge at Brentford during a near seven-year period, gave the green light, Spurs knew he was within their grasp because of a £10m release clause in his contract. They have spent the past few days negotiating the finer details, plus the transfer of some of Frank's coaches from Brentford. The writing had been on the wall for Postecoglou, with the expectation that he would depart even if he led Spurs past Manchester United in the Europa League final on 21 May. The club said they could not 'base our decision on emotions aligned to this triumph' when they announced Postecoglou's departure. The move for Frank has been pushed by Tottenham's technical director, Johan Lange, a Dane who has a longstanding relationship with his compatriot. Lange gave Frank his first full-time position in the game as a youth coach at B93 in 2004, although they did not spend much time together at the club as Lange soon left. Advertisement The pair were reunited not long after at Lyngby where Frank came to the attention of the Danish Football Association, who hired him as the coach of their under-16s, under-17s and later the under-19s. From there Frank got his break in senior management at Brøndby in 2013, managing them for almost three seasons before going to Brentford, where he worked initially as the assistant to Dean Smith. He succeeded him as the manager in October 2018. Download the Guardian app from the iOS App Store on iPhone or the Google Play store on Android by searching for 'The Guardian'. Spurs have been impressed by more than the headline items of Frank's Brentford tenure – the promotion from the Championship via the playoffs in 2021, how he has established them in the Premier League, finishing 13th, ninth, 16th and 10th. Frank consistently over-achieved in relation to his financial means at Brentford; they have one of the smallest budgets in the division. An excellent communicator and noted developer of young talent, he has also shown himself to be tactically flexible. A Spurs statement read: 'We are delighted. In Thomas we are appointing one of the most progressive and innovative head coaches in the game. He has a proven track record in player and squad development and we look forward to him leading the team as we prepare for the season ahead.' Justin Cochrane will join Frank at Tottenham as his assistant while he has also brought the head of performance, Chris Haslam, and first-team analyst Joe Newton with him from Brentford. Another assistant coach, Andreas Georgson, will arrive from Manchester United. Frank prioritised possession-based attacking football in the Championship but adapted in the Premier League, becoming more solid and direct while retaining a powerful threat on set pieces and long throws. That said, Brentford could still build through the thirds and they were the joint-fifth highest scorers in the league during this past season. His preference is for a back three and wing-backs, which could suit Spurs's current full-backs Pedro Porro, Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence. Advertisement Frank has yet to win silverware or manage in European competition beyond Europa League qualifying stages; Spurs are back in the Champions League after the Europa League triumph. But he is not short of high-profile backers. Pep Guardiola predicted last September that Frank would one day join an elite-level club. 'It is just a question of time,' said Manchester City's manager. 'I'm good in a few things, one of which is reading when the manager is good. It is going to happen. Thomas is one of the best. What his team does always makes sense. Every corner is a headache. They are compact. This season they have a high press.' Jürgen Klopp described Frank as 'a cool guy' who he respected a lot in November 2023. 'He plays against possession teams one way and plays against other teams when all of a sudden they are a possession team themselves,' the then Liverpool manager said. 'It's really interesting.'

Ben Youngs and Dan Cole ‘fairytale' can be Leicester's inspiration
Danny Care believes the desire to secure fairytale farewells for Ben Youngs and Dan Cole can drive Leicester to Gallagher Premiership glory but insists title favourites Bath 'won't care about sentiments'. Scrum-half Youngs, 35, and prop Cole, 38, will call time on their illustrious careers following Saturday's mouthwatering final at Allianz Stadium Twickenham. Advertisement Harlequins player Care – a long-term England team-mate of the pair – expects Michael Cheika's Tigers to harness the 'emotional energy' of the imminent retirements in an attempt to spring an upset. 'I do love a fairytale; I do believe sometimes things happen for a reason,' Care, who will be at Twickenham as a pundit for TNT Sports, told the PA news agency. 'Maybe there's something in the air that it was destined for Ben Youngs and Dan Cole to finish with another medal. 'Having said that, sport can be a very harsh beast and they're not going to just get given it. 'I'm sure Leicester will be piling into that emotional energy of sending these guys off on a high; the amount of love they've given to that club, both one-club men – it'd be pretty special to see that happen. Advertisement 'But sport can be quite cruel sometimes and Bath won't care about sentiments. They'll just want to get that trophy, which obviously evaded them last year.' Table-topping Bath, who were runners-up to Northampton in last season's final and are chasing a first title since 1996, finished 11 points ahead of second-placed Leicester in the regular season. Youngs – England's most-capped men's player, with 127 appearances – is seeking his sixth Premiership title while Cole, who represented his country 118 times, is bidding for a fifth. 'I think if you spoke to them at the start of the season, they'd have thought there would be no chance (of winning the Premiership),' said Quins scrum-half Care, another England centurion who is heading into retirement. Advertisement 'But I think Michael Cheika has come in and instilled this unbelievable belief in them that they can beat anyone and why not them this year?' Head coach Cheika will also bid goodbye to Tigers this summer, to be replaced by Geoff Parling, in addition to Argentina hooker Julian Montoya, former England back Mike Brown and South Africa fly-half Handre Pollard. Danny Care, right, played alongside Ben Youngs, left and Dan Cole, not pictured, for England (Adam Davy/PA) Bath – coached by Johann van Graan – have already beaten 11-time Premiership champions Leicester twice this campaign: 20-15 in September at Mattioli Woods Welford Road and 43-15 in May at the Recreation Ground. While there is an intriguing match-up at number 10 between two-time World Cup winner Pollard and Bath star Finn Russell, Care feels the power of Leicester's pack will be crucial. Advertisement 'Bath have been unbelievable all year, they've just found ways to overpower teams,' said the 38-year-old. 'They've just got an ability to grab momentum and really put their foot on your throats and get the wins. 'You could talk about the 10s: Pollard versus Russell, which is going to be huge. But for me the packs is going to be massive. 'If Leicester can stop Bath at source, go back to the old faithful, scrum well, then Leicester have got a few players that could cause them some problems. 'If they don't then it could be a tough day at the office. Anything can happen but I do have Bath as favourites.' :: Watch the Premiership Rugby final live on TNT Sports 1 and discovery+ from 1.30pm on Saturday.
