Horror Bali shooting leaves one Aussie man dead and another seriously injured as local police begin manhunt
Bullet holes and a bloody mess were all that was left behind after two Australian men were gunned down in Bali in what appears to be a targeted attack.
Badung Regency Police confirmed the shooting happened just after midnight on Saturday, when a 32-year-old man and 34-year-old man were shot at a villa in Munggu.
It's understood the masked assailants broke into the villa and opened fire before fleeing on scooters.
The 32-year-old man died at the scene, and the 34-year-old man was rushed to BIMC Hospital where it's believed he remains in a critical condition.
Badung Police chief Arif Batubara said a manhunt is underway for the gunmen, who at this stage remain at large.
'So far we are still conducting a crime scene investigation, then looking for witnesses in the field,' he said.
A Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesperson confirmed it was aware of and assisting with the incident.
'The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to the family of an Australian who died in a shooting incident in Bali. We send our deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time,' the spokesperson said.
'DFAT stands ready to provide consular assistance to another Australian injured in the same incident.
'Owing to our privacy obligations we are unable to provide further comment.'

Prabowo's announcement came a day after reports surfaced that one suspect had been taken into custody early Monday morning, a claim that was later retracted by Bali police .
