"Legally Blonde" Prequel Series "Elle" Gets 2026 Premiere Window

Prime Video's 'Legally Blonde' prequel series "Elle,' which stars Lexi Minetree as Elle Woods, will debut next summer on the streamer.
The premiere window was revealed Monday during Prime Video's upfront presentation in New York City.

The series hails from the film franchise's star Reese Witherspoon and her Hello Sunshine banner, part of Candle Media.
Created by Laura Kittrell (High School, Insecure), Elle follows Elle Woods (Minetree) in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.
The series is set years before the events in the first movie, which kicked off as Elle Woods (Witherspoon) graduated from college and headed to Harvard Law to pursue a legal career.
June Diane Raphael (Elle's mom Eva), and Tom Everett Scott (Elle's dad Wyatt), Gabrielle Policano (Liz), Jacob Moskovitz (Miles), and Chandler Kinney (Kimberly) and Zac Looker (Dustin).
Logan Shroyer (Josh), Amy Pietz, Lisa Yamada, Chloe Wepper, David Burtka, Brad Harder and Kayla Maisonet recur.
Kittrell is co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Caroline Dries. Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, and Marc Platt also serve as executive producers. Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) is set to direct the first two episodes.
"Elle" is produced by Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios.

Nicole Kidman to Star in TV Series "Girls and Their Horses"
Yara Sameh Nicole Kidman is set to star in and executive produce a series adaptation of the Eliza Jane Brazier novel 'Girls and Their Horses'. The project is currently in development and will be co-produced by Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video. Brazier will write the pilot and executive produce. Jenna Lamia will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Kidman will executive produce along with Per Saari under their Blossom Films banner. 'Girls and Their Horses' marks a reunion for Kidman and Lamia. Lamia previously developed and showran the hit Netflix series 'The Perfect Couple,' based on the novel by Elin Hilderbrand, in which Kidman starred and executive produced. The official logline for 'Girls and Their Horses' reads, 'A murder-mystery set in the beachside equestrian community of Rancho Santa Fe, California, 'Girls and Their Horses' follows the newly wealthy Parker family as they aim to position their teenage daughters in the rarified, sometimes-deadly world of competitive horse riding.' Should it move forward, this would mark the latest series role for Kidman, who has quickly become the hardest working actress in television. In addition to 'The Perfect Couple,' she has starred in the shows 'Big Little Lies,' 'Top of the Lake: China Girl,' 'The Undoing,' 'Nine Perfect Strangers,' 'Lioness,' and 'Expats' since 2017. The second season of 'Nine Perfect Strangers' recently debuted, while Kidman is also attached to star in the shows 'Scarpetta' at Prime Video and 'Margo's Got Money Troubles' at Apple TV+. She also has a stellar film career, for which she has received five Oscar nominations with one win. Her recent film credits include 'The Northman,' 'Babygirl,' 'A Family Affair,' and 'Being the Ricardos.' In addition to 'Girls and Their Horses,' Brazier is also the author of the books 'If I Disappear' and 'Good Rich People,' both of which she is currently adapting for TV. The former is set up at 20th Television, while the latter is at MRC. She is also working on a feature screenplay based on her novel 'It Had to Be You' at Sony. This is the latest collaboration between Legendary TV and Amazon MGM Studios in recent weeks. It was reported back in April that Legendary's 'Pacific Rim' TV series is now set up at Amazon, while the two studios, along with Pacesetter Productions, have struck a deal to develop a series based G. T. Ahmed Hatem to Headline Film "Shagle Eial"
Yara Sameh Egyptian actor Ahmed Hatem has signed on to star in the film "Shagle Eial" from director Yahya Ismail. Principal photography is set to commence at the end of the year. Hatem made his last appearance on the big screen in the 2024 film "Ashek". The cast also includes Asma Abulyazeid, Mohsen Mohiedine, Karim Kassem, and more. It is scripted by Mahmoud Zahran and directed by Amro Salah. "Ashek" marks the second collaboration between Hatem and Abulyazeid after the 2021 star-studded film ' Qamar 14 ' (Full Moon). It also witnesses Abulyazeid's comeback to the big screen after an absence of one year. She made her last appearance in the 2023 film " El Ameel Sefr ." Hatem, born on December 25, 1987, made his acting debut in the 2006 film "Awqat Faragh". Other notable film credits include "El Kenz" (2017), "El Haram El Rabea" (2016), "Qeset Hob" (2019), "El Ghassala" (2020), "Arousty" (2021), and "Qamar 14" (2022).
