Memphis man accused of stealing lottery tickets at AR gas station
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man is in jail after allegedly stealing lottery tickets from an Arkansas gas station.
Robert White, 32, was charged with felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, commercial burglary, and theft of property. His bond has been set to $50,000.
Crittenden County deputies responded to a call around 1:30 a.m. about a man who'd walked into Turrell Travel Center, grabbed the entire case of lottery tickets, and walked out.

Deputies said that White was able to get away with nearly $2,000 dollars worth of tickets but cashed in much less.
'So, it was around 3 a.m. Deputies got behind a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect's vehicle that was on video footage from one travel center,' said Crittenden County Sheriff Chelsi Stafford. 'And I conducted a traffic stop, and that's when the passenger male fit the description of the video from earlier that morning.'
'So, he actually traveled from Turrell to Marked Tree and cashed in four tickets,' said Stafford. 'I think he cashed out $80.'

'There's no right or wrong time. Anything can happen at any time. And it could have been worse,' said Taylia Williams, co-owner of the gas station. 'My employee handled it real good. We don't run after customers. When incidents like this happen.'
'We will bring the lottery ticket back, but we will put a case where they can view it on the outside, and we'll have to go under the counter and take it out of the lock box,' said Williams.
Stafford says they've seen several lottery ticket thefts across Arkansas. She said deputies will arrest you and will not stop to get identification and to arrest people.

Elon Musk body-checked Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent ‘like a rugby player' during fiery clash at White House: report
Elon Musk aggressively body-checked Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in the White House after being called a fraud – igniting a fiery clash that sparked the billionaire's messy falling-out with President Trump, a new report claims. The heated scuffle broke out in mid-April after both men pitched rival plans for the Internal Revenue Service to Trump in the Oval Office, with the president ultimately backing Bessent's choice, the Washington Post quoted former White House official Steven Bannon as saying. The pair left the meeting hurling insults at each other within earshot of the president's office, Bannon told the outlet. You're a total fraud,'' Bannon said, referencing the-then Department of Government Efficiency honcho's attempt to slash $1 trillion in federal spending. The verbal spat turned allegedly physical when the world's richest man rammed his shoulder into Bessent's rib cage 'like a rugby player,' prompting the treasury chief to fight back, the paper said Bannon claimed. 'President Trump heard about it and said, 'This is too much,'' said Bannon, who has long been critical of Musk and his involvement in Trump's campaign and presidency. 3 The fiery clash started when Bessent called Musk a 'fraud.' Trump charged that Musk has gone 'crazy' and threatened to cancel the 'Billions and Billions' of dollars in contracts and subsidies the entrepreneur receives from the federal government. Musk, who hails from South Africa, is an American citizen, according to reports. The White House and Treasury Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
