A dog who lived in an animal shelter has finally found her forever home—thanks to a woman who posted a video on TikTok that quickly went viral.
The montage of clips showing how loving and relaxed the white dog, named Princess, is, garnered over 293,000 views on TikTok in just 24 hours (June 29).
The text layered over the video explains that Vivian Powers (@pawsitiveinfluenc), had taken Princess out for the day but then decided to let her stay for a sleepover. She was so impressed by Princess's calm and curious demeanor that she shared the footage online.

However, the time animals—especially large dogs—spend in shelters has increased over the past five years, worsening capacity issues and limiting space for newcomers. Although 4.2 million animals were adopted—about the same as the year before—this wasn't enough to meaningfully reduce the overall shelter population nationwide.
Today, social media plays a huge role in promoting the "adopt, don't shop" mantra, with 2.6 million posts using the hashtag on TikTok alone. It's a slogan that encourages people to adopt pets from animal shelters or rescue organizations instead of buying them from breeders or pet stores.
So far, the post has received 31,200 likes and 245 comments, at the time of writing.
One user wrote: "Seriously!?!! Dogs are 14x more likely to get adopted with ANY amount of time out of a shelter environment! Just one video changed her entire life and made space at the shelter for the next deserving dog!"

'I'll be the first to admit that I am not the 'Fun Mom' at summer outings,' Masse said in her TikTok video. 'I'm not the one. You want to go to the ocean? That's great. I'm going to be counting heads the whole time. I'm counting kids the whole time.' Masse continued in the video: 'You want to get a big group of people together and do a pool party? That's great. I'm going to be with my kids. I'm parenting. If I have your kids? They're going to have less fun, too. Sorry.' Kids in Masse's care will play waist-level in bodies of water, she said. ‘Sinners' to become first film streamed in Black American Sign Language
' Sinners,' the box office sensation by Oakland filmmaker Ryan Coogler, is making history once again. The vampire thriller set in the Jim Crow South, starring Michael B. Jordan, is set to become the first film to be shown on a streaming service in Black American Sign Language. The movie will debut on Max on Friday, July 4, in its regular theatrical version and in a version interpreted in BASL. 'Accessibility within streaming is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Our goal at Max is to make these great stories accessible to all audiences in a way that is authentic to the content and the communities we serve,' Naomi Waibel, senior vice president of global product management at Warner Bros. Discovery, said in a statement. ''Sinners' with Black American Sign Language is an example of how culturally nuanced access can enrich the viewing experience for our audiences.' The BASL version marks 'a major step forward in accessibility, representation and visibility in streaming,' Max added in a separate statement. 'For the first time, the Black Deaf community will have streaming access to a more immersive experience in their language.' That 'Sinners,' the highest-grossing film not based on a pre-existing property so far this decade, becomes the first film to be interpreted by BASL is apt given its setting. BASL, used most commonly by deaf Black Americans in the United States, is a product of segregation of schools in the American South in the 19th and early 20th centuries. 'Sinners' is interpreted in BASL Nakia Smith, who Max called 'an influential voice in the Black Deaf community, who delivers a powerful interpretation with cultural depth and linguistic richness that aligns with the film's themes and historical timeline.' Smith has more than 400,000 followers on TikTok, where she posts videos utilizing and discussing BASL. About 50% of deaf Black people use BASL, Carolyn McCaskill, founding director of the Center for Black Deaf Studies at Gallaudet University, a private university in Washington, D.C., for the deaf and hard of hearing, told the New York Times in 2021. BASL users tend to use more two-handed signs, and they often place signs around the forehead, rather than lower on the body. They also tend to use a larger signing space and more facial expressions.
