Fans decode hidden message in '28 Years Later' trailer, discovering a secret website using cipher

Express Tribune18-04-2025

In an exciting new twist to the marketing for 28 Years Later, fans have uncovered a hidden message embedded in the latest trailer.
This Easter egg leads to a secret website, adding an interactive element to the upcoming horror sequel's promotional campaign. The trailer, which features a star-studded cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Jodie Comer, Jack O'Connell, and Erin Kellyman, sparked significant attention. While many fans were focused on spotting Cillian Murphy in the footage, others were investigating more closely. It was eagle-eyed viewers who first noticed unusual symbols flashing quickly in the corners of certain frames. These symbols, though fleeting, caught the attention of a few dedicated fans.

Upon closer examination, one fan applied a Rosicrucian cipher—previously used in earlier marketing material for the film—to decode the symbols. This effort revealed a single word: mementomori. This Latin phrase, which translates to 'remember that you have to die,' not only hints at the film's thematic focus but also serves as the password to access a hidden website.

The secret site, discovered by fans, is named RageLeaks.net. By entering mementomori as the password, visitors gain access to a retro-style website featuring eerie images and a countdown that reads "28 years." The website includes a cryptic TXT file that reads:
'The virus brought us more than the rage. The sorrow, for our lost home. The guilt, for the ones we left behind. The righteous indignation for the secrets being kept from us."
The message also alludes to a cover-up surrounding the outbreak, with references to satellite image classification, communication suppression, and rumors of infected individuals adapting. The ominous tone of the message hints at a dark conspiracy, adding to the excitement and mystery surrounding the film's plot.
A second document found on the site references the 'Lindisfarne commune', a real island in Northumberland, suggesting its isolation provides increased security for its inhabitants. The document details the commune's stable social order and attempts to maintain quarantine.
This discovery is part of the highly praised marketing campaign for 28 Years Later, which has been lauded for creating intrigue without revealing too much about the plot. Fans have expressed their appreciation for the trailer's artistic direction, with some commenting that it successfully builds anticipation for the movie's release.
28 Years Later is set to hit theaters on June 20, 2025.

MrBeast borrows money from his mom for wedding despite being a billionaire

YouTube megastar Jimmy 'MrBeast' Donaldson has revealed that he's borrowing money from his mother to fund his upcoming wedding—despite being considered a billionaire on paper. The surprising financial detail came to light after MrBeast responded to a post by Dexerto on X, which highlighted him as 'the only billionaire under 30 to have not inherited his wealth.' In his reply, the 26-year-old clarified that he has 'very little money' in his personal account because he reinvests nearly all of his earnings into content creation. 'I think this year we'll spend around a quarter of a billion on content,' MrBeast wrote. 'Ironically, I'm actually borrowing money from my mom to pay for my upcoming wedding lol. But sure, on paper the businesses I own are worth a lot.' MrBeast has famously built his YouTube empire through extreme challenges and philanthropic stunts, often spending millions on videos. In a previous interview on the Diary of a CEO podcast, he confirmed his billionaire valuation but admitted to having under a million dollars in liquid assets. His Amazon Prime project, Beast Games, reportedly cost tens of millions to produce—an investment he sees as a step toward expanding his business empire. As per Bloomberg, Donaldson is currently seeking hundreds of millions in outside investment, with his ventures estimated to be worth around $5 billion. Despite the temporary loan, MrBeast's mother likely has little concern about repayment, considering the monumental value of her son's brand and ventures.

Nisho's note for Rambo

When veteran actor Nisho (also affectionately known as Nisho Jee) takes the stage, expect fireworks, flair, and maybe even a little family poetry. Appearing on a local chat show on DAY, the Rangeela icon lit up the studio with a delightful tribute to son-in-law and actor Jan Rambo. Rambo, born Afzal Khan, rose to fame with '90s action-comedy films and tied the knot with Sahiba, Nisho's daughter and fellow film star, in 1998. Still going strong, the couple has raised two sons. In the middle of the segment, Nisho playfully launched into a couplet that had the audience roaring with laughter, and then sighing with admiration. With her signature flair, she described the curious evolution of Pakistani sons-in-law: "Neechi nazrein aur phool sa lehja, har khata se yeh paak hotay hain / Joon he shaadi ho aur banein damaad, bohot khaufnaak hotay hain." As the room erupted in response, Nisho clarified that this was not a cheeky dig at Rambo. "There is no need to praise my son-in-law. Everyone already knows Jan Rambo!" She furthered on, "When daughters marry men like him, their futures are nothing short of radiant." Clips from the show quickly went viral, with many calling it "the mother-in-law moment of the year." In the same interview, she revealed that suitors still propose to her but added, "Men are disloyal; they're often after a woman's money." She clarified, "Not all, but some." While her contemporaries like Sangeeta, Bushra Ansari, and Samina Ahmed married, she said she won't. "I was foolish about love and marriage when I was young. Now, I have wisdom," she said, laughing, a moment that made everyone else laugh too. Tensions once brewed between the actor and her son-in-law, particularly when Rambo reunited Sahiba with her estranged father after decades. This act of love, though complicated, led to a moment Sahiba would never forget. In March 2024, she met her biological father, Inam Rabbani, for the very first time, an emotional reunion captured in a video on her YouTube channel. Clips circulating online showed tearful embraces, hesitant confessions, and a father overwhelmed by guilt and gratitude. After 42 years of silence, Rabbani told Sahiba he had held on just to apologise before he died. Sahiba, moved by his remorse, chose to forgive him. While she expressed lingering fears of abandonment, she listened as he acknowledged Rambo as a good husband.
