West Coast will don the state colours for their WA Day clash in their latest jumper design
West Coast have laid claim to the state colours after unveiling their bold new guernsey for their WA Day round clash.
The Eagles will be wearing the striking new design for their match against Geelong at Optus Stadium on June 1 in celebration of the state's WA Day the next day.
The jumper features the traditional black and gold state colours with rays of sunlight stretching across the jumper with Liam Baker and Jake Waterman on hand to show off the new threads.
It comes as the Black Swans ended a seven year win drought in their clash against the Croweaters on Saturday.
It will be the first time the Eagles have worn the state colours since their 2007 heritage round jumper, which came under criticism from former Fremantle skipper Ben Allan, saying non-WA-born players wearing the colours failed to recognise the legacy of state legends.
The new range is on sale now exclusively for members and will open up to the wider public from Wednesday 7pm.

Rita Saffioti: METRONET line another incredible commitment by WA Labor
1. A massive 20,000 people turned out on Sunday to celebrate the opening of the METRONET Thornlie-Cockburn line and ride the first train, which now connects people in our south-east to the city in just half an hour. Another incredible commitment delivered by WA Labor. 2. Importantly, the new METRONET Thornlie-Cockburn line provides a new direct connection to Optus Stadium from Mandurah. Perfect timing really, with a massive double header this weekend at Optus Stadium. North Melbourne play the second of their two WA home games against Fremantle on Saturday, and West Coast play Carlton on Sunday. 3. On Monday I rode the train with passengers on the first day of full service. It was great to talk to Canning Vale residents, who told me how much easier their daily commute will be as a result of this new train line. Also great to see the school kids getting on board from day one. This project is for their generation and the next. 4. Next on the METRONET list is the rest of the Armadale line. We appreciate the community's patience while we deliver this transformative program of works. Free public transport for people usually using this train line has been extended until its reopening, which we will announce in coming months. 5. Western Australia's domestic economy continues to lead the nation, growing at almost twice the pace of the rest of the country in the year to March 2025 based on the latest ABS data. WA accounts for almost a fifth of growth in the entire national domestic economy — well above our share of population or economy. 6. Premier Roger Cook and Education Minister Sabine Winton announced a massive infrastructure spend on our WA schools yesterday, with $1.67 billion committed over the next four years for the delivery of new public schools and improved infrastructure. 7. What a massive week of sport. More than 57,000 people packed out Optus Stadium on Thursday night to cheer on the Socceroos. We had tens of thousands turn out to the annual Supercars event over the weekend, followed by the historic North Melbourne and West Coast match down in Bunbury. The State's $13 million contribution to the Hands Oval redevelopment was a great investment — it looks spectacular. 8 Our government played a significant part in securing the North Melbourne and West Coast game. A massive congratulations in particular to Bunbury MP Don Punch, the City of Bunbury and the local community who made the match such a success. Bunbury truly embraced the opportunity. 9. I'm so pumped for the Socceroos — it's the first time they've qualified directly for a FIFA World Cup without a play-off since 2013. Still thinking about that last minute win last week. An incredible way to do it in front of a packed house at Optus Stadium. 10. What an inspiring person Neale Daniher is. Hard to believe it's been more than a decade since the first Big Freeze at the G event. In that time, more than $115 million has been raised to fight MND. A truly incredible effort and movement.

'A great fit' - Aussie weapon hailed by the Lions
British & Irish Lions head coach Andy Farrell believes his Australian replacement call-up Finlay Bealham will prove a "great fit" for the squad following the "heartbreaking" withdrawal of injured Scotland prop Zander Fagerson. Glasgow Warriors tighthead Fagerson has been ruled out of the summer tour to Australia with a calf problem, prompting Farrell to bring in the Canberra-born Bealham, who he's coached when in charge of Ireland. The news of Fagerson's withdrawal came a day before the squad - minus those involved in Premiership and United Rugby Championship finals - headed out to Portugal for a training camp. Farrell, though, accepts such situations are part of the game, with the group now looking to sharpen focus towards a warm-up fixture against Argentina in Dublin on June 20. "It is heartbreaking, but at the same time, he (Fagerson) is a realist. All rugby players know that's the game," Farrell said. "He will work unbelievably hard to get himself fit and who knows what's going to happen down the track." On Ireland's Bealham being added to the squad, Farrell said: "Finlay has been called up in his place and he is in good form. He is very good at what he does. "He was certainly right up there in the conversation from the very start as well, and he would have been disappointed not to make the group. "So we just know he will be a great fit for the group going forward. He is the only conversation that I was able to have because of the way we did the squad announcement. "By giving him a phone call and telling him he was selected within the squad, unfortunately for Zander, but it was one of the best phone conversations I have ever had. "The emotion that went through the phone actually welled me up. It was great to be able to do that." With 15 of the selected players still on club duty - including 12 from Leinster - England duo Jamie George and Asher Opoku-Fordjour have also joined the five-day training camp at Quinta do Lago to provide some front-row cover. The fixture against Argentina is set to be a first Lions game played in Ireland. The tour of Australia schedule - which features three Tests against the Wallabies - begins against Western Force in Perth on June 28.
