Ludhiana: Demanding job regularisation, computer teachers hold protest
The Computer Teachers Union of Punjab held a state-level protest on Sunday, outside the residence of Rajya Sabha member Sanjeev Arora, drawing attention to the government's alleged neglect of long-standing demands of computer teachers.
Union leaders sharply criticised the Punjab government for what they called a deliberate delay in fulfilling their legitimate demands. These include the implementation of the 6th Pay Commission, regularisation under Punjab Civil Service Rules and full benefits in death cases and regular service.
Union leaders pointed out that computer teachers have been working in regular roles since 2011. Over the past three years, the union has held several meetings with the government. 'While our demands were acknowledged as valid during these meetings, no actual steps have been taken to resolve them,' said one of the protesters. Teachers feel they are being deliberately ignored, despite their continued contributions to the education system.
The union announced that a larger rally would be held outside the Education Bhawan in Mohali later in June. They also declared that if their issues are not resolved, a massive state-wide protest would follow, for which the government and administration would be fully responsible.
Union leaders present at the rally included Punjab general secretary Harpreet Singh, senior vice presidents Harjeet Singh Sandhu, Anil Aeri, Rakhi Mannan, Sikander Singh and Paramveer Singh Sandhu, along with Gurpreet Singh from Mansa and district leaders like Har Rai Kumar (Ludhiana), Ravinder Singh (Hoshiarpur), Gurpinder Singh (Gurdaspur), Davinder Singh (Ferozepur), including many more supporters from different districts were also present.
Har Rai Kumar, district president of the Computer Teachers Union, said, 'We met MP Sanjeev Arora on Sunday, and he has assured us that he will help arrange a meeting with the concerned officials in the coming week. But the truth is, we have already met the education minister and several other officials multiple times but to no avail. That is why we now want to meet the chief minister directly to resolve our issues.'
Rajya Sabha member Sanjeev Arora said, 'I have fixed their meeting with the finance minister on Monday.'

YSRCP leaders accuses NDA govt. of indulging in diversion politics
Visakhapatnam: YSRCP leaders alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu backstabbed people of Andhra Pradesh by not keeping the promises made before the elections. The YSRCP district president pointed out that in a year-long stint of anarchic rule, Naidu targeted YSRCP leaders and activists by fabricating various cases against them. Further, Raju criticised that the NDA government is focusing on diversion politics and neglecting the welfare of the people completely. He expressed confidence that the people will teach Naidu a befitting lesson for certain in the next elections. Rajya Sabha member Golla Babu Rao, women's wing state president Varudhu Kalyani, former MLAs, coordinators, corporators and ward presidents participated in the protest. In the meantime, a rally was organised by the ward YSRCP senior leaders from the Gandhi Bomma centre in Gajuwaka under the leadership of the constituency in-charge Tippala Devan Reddy, former MLAs Tippala Nagi Reddy, Ch Venkataramaiah, party youth wing president Urukuti Chandu and senior leaders. Similarly, a rally was held at Arilova area under the leadership of former Mayor G Hari Venkata Kumari and Srinivas with 200 two-wheelers and 10 auto rickshaws.

200 Oppn MPs to write to Modi for spl Parliament session on Pahalgam attack, Op Sindoor
New Delhi: More than 200 Opposition lawmakers from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha are set to write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demand a special session of Parliament to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. The move comes after 20 top-ranking leaders including two Leaders of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Trinamool's Abhishek Banerjee wrote to PM seeking a special session. The government, however, has indicated it will not have a special session. Parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju announced that the monsoon session will start from July 21 and end on August 12. Lok Sabha authorities told HT that there is no intimation for any special session. Reacting to the government's announcement, Trinamool Congress's Derek O'Brien said, 'TMC has studied the past announcements, and usually the session is announced around 19 days ahead of the date of commencement. This time, they announced it 47 days ahead. So scared! If they can announce the Monsoon Session, why not a Special Session in June.' Functionaries said what the demand for a special session has also renewed the channel of communications between Gandhi and Banerjee. A top functionary said that Gandhi spoke to Banerjee, who is abroad on the delegation and discussed the importance of a joint approach to demand a joint session. Even as TMC is not a poll ally of the Congress, the discussions between the two top-ranking leaders can lead to greater cooperation between the two sides in the upcoming session.

AP: End of YSRCP anarchic rule, Alliance govt's achievements
Kakinada, June 4 (UNI) The Alliance leaders at a meeting held at the camp office of Rajya Sabha member Saana Sathish at Koppavaram, near here, on Wednesday, said that the anarchic rule of YSRCP has ended a year ago and the state is going ahead with the accelerated growth both in development and in welfare schemes. During his inaugural address, TDP district president Jyothula Naveen Kumar claimed that the government had implemented 70 percent of the election eve promises. He claimed that during past one-year roads were developed spending Rs 1,200 Crores, fishermen were extended financial aid of Rs 20,000 and pension was enhanced from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000. Naveen Kumar ridiculed Jaganmohan Reddy for taking up protest rallies against the Alliance government, claiming he stabbed his mother and sister in the back and also destroyed the entire administrative fabric of the state beyond repair.
