Monterrey vs Inter Milan Live Streaming: When and where to watch FIFA Club World Cup 2025 clash, probable XIs and more
Inter Milan will aim for three points in their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Group E opener against Monterrey at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena. Earlier, River Plate beat Urwa Red Diamonds to clinch the top position in the same group. Inter, runners-up in the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League, are favourites. On the other hand, Monterrey, representing Liga MX, earned their spot through the 2021 CONCACAF Champions League title. Monterrey is looking to bounce back after a disappointing season, with their new head coach Domenec Torrent taking charge after Martin Demichelis' departure. Torrent will aim to bring renewed energy to the team after a seventh-place finish in Liga MX's Clausura and an early exit from the CONCACAF Champions Cup against Vancouver Whitecaps. The team will face a setback with center-back Carlos Salcedo being ruled out due to a knee injury. His absence will pose a challenge to Monterrey's defense. Inter Milan will also play their first FIFA Club World Cup match with a new head coach. Notably, defender Cristian Chivu has taken over the duties after Simone Inzaghi's departure. Chivu's first match in charge is highly anticipated, but he faces immediate challenges as he looks to establish his mark. Inter will be without key players Hakan Calhanoglu, Yann Bisseck, and Davide Frattesi. All of them have been sidelined due to ongoing recovery from injuries. However, all eyes will be on the new additions Peter Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb and Luis Henrique from Marseille, who could make their debuts. Date: June 17 in the US and June 18 in India Time: 9 PM ET (June 17) | 6:30 AM IST (June 18) Venue: Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena, California Monterrey: Andrada; Chavez, Guzman, Rodriguez, Arteaga; Ambriz, Oliver Torres, Canales, Ocampos, Corona; Berterame. Levy wants Spurs to be Premier League winners
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said he had no regrets over the hiring of Ange Postecoglou as he defended the decision to sack the Australian as manager. Postecoglou guided Spurs to their first trophy for 17 years by winning the Europa League last month. However, that was not enough to save his job after finishing 17th in the Premier League. The decision to dismiss the former Celtic boss and appoint Thomas Frank has been met with a backlash from many among the Tottenham fan base. But Levy outlined his ambition for Spurs to be Premier League and Champions League winners some day. "I don't regret appointing Ange, I'm very grateful to Ange. In his first season we finished fifth and in his second we were over the moon to win a trophy," Levy told the club's in-house media. "But we need to compete in all competitions, and we felt that we needed a change. "Emotionally it was difficult but we feel that we've made the right decision for the club." Tottenham have not won the English top flight since 1961 and have never won the Champions League. "We've won a European trophy, but it's not enough," Levy added. "It's what we haven't done that is more important. We need to win the league. We want to win the Premier League. We want to win the Champions League. We want to win." Levy has held his position at Tottenham for more than 25 years with Frank becoming the 13th permanent manager in that time. "Whenever you have a new coach, it's always a fresh start. (There are) always have different ideas but we want to build on the success of winning a trophy last season," he said. "One of the things that stood out to me with Thomas was that he is clearly highly intelligent, a great communicator, super human being plus all the technical aspects which are obviously important." kca/jc TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR CELTIC PLC

Soccer-Nearly 1.5 million tickets sold for Club World Cup, FIFA says
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., - Fans from over 130 countries have purchased nearly 1.5 million tickets for the Club World Cup that kicked off last weekend in its newly expanded format across the United States, FIFA said on Tuesday. A crowd of more than 60,000 turned up for the opener at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, which featured Inter Miami's Lionel Messi, while some 80,000 were in the Rose Bowl stands as Paris St Germain beat Atletico Madrid 4-0 on Sunday. Yet some matches have also been sparsely attended, as a 0-0 draw between Borussia Dortmund and Fluminense that kicked off midday on Tuesday played out to a half-empty MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. While Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca described the atmosphere at his team's game against Los Angeles FC as "a bit strange", as a little over 22,000 spectators came to watch at the 71,000 capacity Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Monday. "This is exactly what the FIFA Club World Cup was created for: a world-class stage where new stories are told, new heroes emerge, and club football fans feel part of something bigger," FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a statement. Designed as a glittering curtain-raiser for the 2026 World Cup, FIFA hopes to build enthusiasm for the quadrennial spectacle among often soccer-ambivalent fans in the U.S., which will co-host the tournament next year with Canada and Mexico. Concerns had been rampant, however, after a lacklustre Copa America in 2024 that played out on sub-par pitches to half-empty stadiums and ended with a fan security fiasco at the final in Miami.
