TURIN, Italy (AP) — Igor Tudor is open to coaching Juventus in the Club World Cup after all, his agent said Monday, a day after the Croatian indicated he might not be.
Amid speculation that Tudor's contract won't be extended for next season, the coach said immediately after guiding Juventus to a fourth-place finish in Serie A on Sunday — and a Champions League spot — that 'if a coach manages in the Club World Cup and then isn't there anymore next season, it's not a good thing and makes no sense to do that.'

For next season, Juventus appears interested in rehiring Antonio Conte, who just led Napoli to the Italian title.
Anthony Seric, Tudor's agent, said the coach clarified the situation during a discussion with Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli.
'After the interviews in the heat of the moment, he and Cristiano talked and Igor will respect the agreement to coach Juve at the Club World Cup,' Seric told Sky Italia. 'And he won't put any pressure on the club to make its choice for the future, because he clearly hopes to still be Juve's coach next season.'
Tudor replaced the fired Thiago Motta in March and was given a contract through the end of the season, including the Club World Cup.
Juventus and Inter Milan will represent Italy at the expanded 32-team Club World Cup, which will be contested from June 14 to July 13 in the United States.

Trout bounces back from injury with 3 more hits and his 2nd career homer at Fenway Park

BOSTON (AP) — It hasn't taken Mike Trout long to regain his form after missing a month with a bruised left knee. Trout had three more hits on Monday night, including a 454-foot homer that was the longest at Fenway Park this year, in the Los Angeles Angels' 7-6 victory over the Boston Red Sox — his second three-hit game in three starts since returning from the injured list on Friday. 'Anybody that knows Mike Trout shouldn't be surprised,' Angels manager Ron Washington said. 'Mike Trout can still do a lot of things that a lot of people can't do. And he's showing that.' Trout hit a three-run homer in the first inning and singled in his next two at-bats. In the seventh, he grounded into a double play but said he had no problem with his left knee as he tried to beat the relay. In all, the 11-time All-Star and three-time AL MVP is 8 for 14 since coming off the IL to raise his batting average from .179 to .225. It was only his second homer in 35 career games at Fenway Park. Trout, 33, said he was able to work on his swing while he was out, though he was limited to 30-40 swings per day. The break helped him reset some bad habits he had developed, he said. The three hits on Monday gave Trout 1,675 in his career and moved him into second place on the franchise list, surpassing Tim Salmon. Garret Anderson holds the Angels record with 2,368. Zach Neto homered leading off the game, Trout added a three-run shot and Jo Adell put one over the Green Monster to make it 6-0 — all in the first. It was the first time in the 114-year history of Fenway Park that a visiting team has hit three homers in the first inning, according to . 'Anytime you set records in a stadium like this, it's pretty special,' Trout said. 'It's pretty crazy.' ___ AP MLB:

2025 Belmont Stakes odds, draw, and post positions: Journalism the favorite, just ahead of Sovereignty

The field for the 2025 Belmont Stakes — which will be run for the second straight year at Saratoga Race Course as Belmont Park undergoes renovations — is set. There are eight horses in the field for the final leg of the 2025 Triple Crown, but there are two clear headliners: Journalism and Sovereignty. No. 7 Journalism, fresh off an electrifying win at the Preakness as an even-money favorite, was installed as the 8-5 favorite on the morning line, just ahead of No. 2 Sovereignty, the 2025 Kentucky Derby champion. 'Looking at where we're drawn, there's a little bit of speed inside of us,' Journalism's trainer Michael McCarthy said. 'Obviously, the horse on outside [Heart of Honor] was a little rambunctious [in the gate] in the Preakness. I see us running into the first turn — all these Triple Crown races have a very honest pace — and I think we'll be forwardly placed.' Sovereignty, who skipped the Preakness after upsetting Journalism to win the Run for the Roses, was tagged with 2-1 odds for the Belmont. 'He's improved — as many of these horses have,' Sovereignty's trainer, Bill Mott, said. 'This entire group, if you look at their form and the way they've developed over the course of this year, I think they've made steady progress. It should be an interesting race on Saturday.' While you can expect Sovereignty and Journalism to attract the lion's share of the betting attention at Saratoga on Saturday, there are a couple of other entrants that were priced as contenders on the morning line. Jockey Junior Alvarado celebrates winning the Kentucky Derby with Sovereignty. AP No. 6 Baeza, who ran an impressive third as a trendy late entry at the Derby, is the third favorite at 4-1, just ahead of Bob Baffert's Rodriguez. No. 3 Rodriguez (6-1) sat out the first two legs of the Triple Crown with an injury to his foot, but has been cleared for the trip to Saratoga. His last start was a win at the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct. You can expect plenty of exotics tying Baeza and Rodriguez to one, or both, of the favorites, but don't be surprised if these odds drift a bit, as this race will feature a lopsided handle with money pouring in on the two heavyweights. It's clear the oddsmakers see this as a three-tiered race with the two favorites, two contenders, and then everybody else. No. 1 Hill Road, the winner of last month's Peter Pan Stakes at Aqueduct, is next up with 10-1 odds. He will be ridden by two-time Belmont champion Irad Ortiz Jr. and is trained by Chad Brown. Crudo, who will start in the No. 5 position, is 15-1. The two biggest long shots in the field are No. 4 Uncaged and No. 8 Heart of Honor, both of whom were priced as 30/1 roughies on the morning line. 2025 Belmont Stakes odds Number Horse Odds 1 Hill Road 10-1 2 Sovereignty 2-1 3 Rodriguez 6-1 4 Uncaged 30-1 5 Crudo 15-1 6 Baeza 4-1 7 Journalism 8-5 8 Heart of Honor 30-1
