Smallburgh wedding venue extensively damaged by fire
A fire has caused extensive damage to a wedding and holiday venue. The fire at Holly House on the Worsted Estate, Smallburgh, Norfolk, broke out at about midnight, according to a post by the estate team.It said "there was no one in the property, and no casualties" but the fire had "spread throughout the accommodation, sparing only the farm office at the rear of the property". Holly House director, Gavin Paterson, would not comment on how many forthcoming weddings or bookings might be impacted.
However, the estate's statement added: "We will contact those with bookings as soon as we can."Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was called to the blaze in Church Road at 02:35 BST. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.Mr Patterson praised the "fantastic" fire service response and added that "no one was injured". The fire service said crews from nine stations attended the fire and staff remain at the scene damping down and checking for potential hot spots that might reignite.At one point during the fire residents nearby were advised to keep doors and windows shut - due to smoke - which the fire service said had now dissipated.Motorists and residents were advised to continue to avoid the area of Church Road.Images taken by a BBC reporter showed the roof of the building to be completely gutted. Norfolk Police said: "Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service are leading. A cordon is in place around the property and our officers remain on scene while investigations are carried out to determine the cause of the fire."Wildcraft Brewery, which is based on the 300-acre private Worsted Estate, confirmed it had not been affected by the fire.

Bus service to Marwell Zoo axed due to financial pressures
A bus service to a zoo has been scrapped over seasonal Bluestar route was subsidised by Marwell Zoo, near Winchester, and offered passengers discounted entry to the the zoo has said "unfortunately, uptake was low and the operator was unable to share the high cost, making the service financially unsustainable".Bluestar said it was "disappointed" funding had been withdrawn and apologised for any inconvenience. Paul Weller's version of dad's song 'the ultimate tribute'
The family of Londonderry singer-songwriter Eamon Friel have described a Paul Weller cover as the "ultimate tribute". The song, El Dorado, features on Find El Dorado, an album of other artists' songs that Weller says he has carried with him for former frontman of The Jam has been in Derry this week to meet the Friel Friel's son Colum said he had been looking forward to meeting Weller for months, adding "it's like a dream come true". Paul Weller said he first heard El Dorado when "a mate of mine sent it to me".The song was written for a film made in Derry in the mid 1980s called The Best mate who sent it to Weller was Mark Holden, a music manager from Derry who had managed The Touts, a local band who have supported Weller."He sent me the tune, and the clip from The Best Man, and I just thought what a great song," Weller said."I loved the song, and we did it… we got in touch with Colum first to make sure it was alright to use it," he said, adding "it is just a great song."During his visit to the north west Weller also took in a Christy Moore concert in Derry's Millennium Forum on Wednesday artists whose songs feature on the upcoming Paul Weller album include The Kinks , the Bee Gees and Bobby Charles.
