Bibhu Mohapatra Resort 2026 Collection

Voguea day ago

Last season, Bibhu Mohapatra broke from tradition. Instead of finding a famous historical woman to serve as his muse, the designer looked inward, building his collection around his pilgrimage to India to perform funeral rites for his brother and parents. Mohapatra debated exploring the emotional, intensely personal material through fashion. 'I'm not scared of change anymore,' he said. 'I'm ready to pivot.'
For his resort 2026 offering, Mohapatra once again turned to his own life for inspiration. This time, he referenced a recent trip to his ancestral village, which he hadn't visited for 20 years. 'I connected immediately with all those things that I had left,' he said. Childhood summers spent playing in the rice paddies are translated into a recurring geometric embroidery, which is splashed across cocktail dresses and sweeping ballgowns alike. Mohapatra's interpretation of the monsoon season, a zig-zagging motif, is featured on a high-neck teal evening dress and a black column dress. A hundred-year-old jasmine vine in the village led the designer to create an ivory lace skirt set with 3D floral appliqués.
Like the rest of the industry, Mohapatra is feeling the effects of tariffs. 'People become a little conscious about pricing,' he said. So when it comes to his own offering, 'it has to be absolutely unique, and the perceived value has to be right.' By tapping into his own lived experience, he is heading in the right direction.

8 Ways the Air India Crash Could Reshape Indian Aviation and Tourism

The airline industry and Indian officials face a lot of questions in the aftermath of Thursday's crash, and here's what we're playing close attention to. Air India Liveblog Ongoing coverage of the crash of Air India flight 171 from Skift's editorial team in India, Europe, and the United States. Ongoing coverage of the crash of Air India flight 171 from Skift's editorial team in India, Europe, and the United States. Get the Latest Updates Skift's coverage of the Air India crash is offered free to all readers. The crash of Air India Flight 171 is very personal to all of us at Skift. I'm Indian, my wife's family comes from Ahmedabad, and many of our staff do too. India's growth in travel has been a big story for Skift in recent years and we'll be following the economic and business fallout. The full impact will take days and weeks to fully understand but we'll be focused on what is at stake for India and specifically, the Indian travel and tourism ecosystem. These are eight important themes we're thinking about. 1: Boeing's Comeback Stalls This is the first-ever fatal crash of the Dreamliner. The narrative it's safe has been shattered. Boeing was already under a lot of pressure from Washington regarding its safety record. 2: Air India Under a Microscope This is year 3 of Air India being owned by Tata. This is the biggest test for Tata, as well as for Air India. And what does it mean for Air India's turnaround? Campbell Wilson – the foreign and white CEO – will be under the spotlight, trying to show empathy and leadership at the same time. It's the biggest test of his career. He has to come through. 3: Infrastructure vs. Oversight The crash creates hard questions for the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the authority that manages airports in India — especially as the country is home to the world's fastest-growing airport economy. Have the systems – the people, and the training, etc. – have they caught up with the hard infrastructure? 4: What It Means for the Dreamliners Is there a ground stop risk? Air India grounding its remaining long-haul 787 Dreamliners would give IndiGo an unexpected advantage. It will be interesting to see how IndiGo — in particular, its CEO Pieter Elbers — responds. 5: Blow For Indian Aviation? The International Air Transport Association held its annual general meeting in New Delhi last week. It was headlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attracted a large number of airline CEOs. IndiGo had a huge moment in the spotlight as Pieter Elbers was the main host. The sun was rising on Indian aviation – has that evaporated? It needs to be seen. It's a huge turnaround from the optimism of last week to this week. 6: Optics for Modi Prime Minister Modi faces several challenges in the aftermath of the crash, including the transparency of relief efforts amid ongoing elections in the country. 7: NTSB's Involvement As Boeing is a U.S.-based company, the National Transportation Safety Board has already said it will assist the Indian government. Representatives from the agency will travel to India to assess the situation and examine any safety issues regarding Boeing. But it would take a while for the agency to get answers – investigations can take years to complete. 8: What It Means For Inbound Tourism to India When such crashes happen, there can be an impact on tourism. Indian inbound tourism already is not in the best shape and the crash could shake the confidence of business travelers planning trips to the country. YuppTV Initiates Lawsuit Against Major International Piracy Network 'Boss IPTV'

Leading OTT platform's anti-piracy efforts result in multiple arrests and court cases against $84 million illegal streaming operation ATLANTA, June 12, 2025 /CNW/ -- YuppTV, one of the world's leading internet-based TV platform for Indian content, has announced the filing of a lawsuit as part of its continued fight against one of the largest illegal IPTV networks worldwide. The company's comprehensive anti-piracy initiative has resulted in arrests, filing court cases on the piracy network. YuppTV has filed a comprehensive complaint in the United States District Court targeting the extensive piracy network operating under multiple brand names including Boss IPTV, Tashan Punjabi IPTV, Indian IPTV, Brampton IPTV, Boss and Guru IPTV. The illegal operations have caused substantial damage to the entertainment industry, with broadcasters losing an estimated $200-300 million annually. YuppTV's complaint to the Faridabad Cyber Crime Police led to a successful raid in March 2021, resulting in the arrest of six employees involved in illegal streaming operations. The illegal operation involved streaming thousands of premium channels without authorization, including content from major Indian broadcasters and international platforms. Uday Reddy, Founder & CEO from YuppTV, commented, "The identification and prosecution of networks like Boss IPTV will be a huge positive step for the industry in the fight against piracy. As a company that serves millions of viewers globally and has invested decades in building legitimate partnerships with content creators, we at YuppTV refuse to stand by while pirates profit from stolen intellectual property. These recent arrests and our fight against piracy send a clear message that we will pursue every available legal remedy to protect our industry, our partners, and the millions of consumers who choose to support legitimate platforms." According to the Goldstein Law Group representing YuppTV, any subscriber using illegal IPTV pirate services such as Boss IPTV, Guru IPTV, Tashan IPTV, Brampton IPTV, Vois IPTV, Indian IPTV, Punjabi IPTV, Edmonton IPTV, Boss Entertainment IPTV, or UltrastreamTV, their phone number may be linked to illegal piracy and/or copyright infringement which is a crime under the U.S. federal law. Penalties for serious copyright infringement may include felony charges which may render non-citizens deportable under the U.S. federal law. YuppTV warns customers that illegal IPTV services pose serious security risks beyond legal consequences, as pirates can access personal information including credit card details, which are then sold on the dark web. As the largest internet-based TV platform for South Asian content, YuppTV strongly urges all consumers currently using illegal streaming services to immediately discontinue their use and transition to legitimate platforms. About YuppTV YuppTV is one of the world's largest internet-based TV and On-demand service provider for South Asian content, offering more than 250+ TV channels, 5000+ movies and 100+ TV shows in 14 languages.
