Statesboro PD to host ‘Easter Trunk Hop'
STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) — The Statesboro Police Department (SPD) will host its annual Easter Trunk Hop on Saturday, April 19.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Statesboro Police Department, located at 25 W. Grady Street.
Families will be able to collect colorful Easter eggs and see festive decorations. Treats handed out from the trunks of decorated vehicles.
The event is free to attend, and families are encouraged to reserve their tickets in advance.

What we know Officers were dispatched to a reported stabbing near 10th Avenue and East Pike Street at 12:11 a.m. Upon arrival, Seattle police say they located a man with stab wounds to his arm, stomach and back. He was provided aid at the scene and later taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. The stabbing happened during an altercation between several men, during which a 37-year-old woman stabbed the victim, according to witness reports. Police say the woman then fled with another man. Officers quickly arrested the 31-year-old male suspect, and the woman was taken into custody after a short foot chase, SPD said. She allegedly threw a knife into nearby bushes before the pursuit, which officers recovered a short time later. The woman was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault, with the man booked on additional charges. What we don't know The current condition of the victim is unknown at this time. This case is not believed to be related to the downtown Seattle shooting that happened earlier in the day. This incident remains under investigation. GUYTON, Ga. (WSAV) – The Effingham County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) has seized a large amount of drugs and paraphernalia following a search warrant being executed in Guyton. After a lengthy investigation, the ECSO Drug Suppression Unit executed a search warrant at a home on Old Lake Road in Guyton on June 11, 2025. During the search, investigators seized: 4,800 grams of a substance suspected to be Ketamine 1,000 THC vape products Several ounces of marijuana 70 grams of suspected Ecstasy LSD A gun and nearly 50 pounds of THC edibles 46-year-old Christina Swaggert was arrested at the scene and charged with: 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent To Distribute Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance Felony Possession of Marijuana Possession of a Firearm During The Commission of a Felony Investigators say no additional arrests are expected after this investigation.
