Upcoming Lynchburg lane closure to assist debris removal operation
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – The City of Lynchburg will be performing a debris removal and sweeping operation with traffic restrictions on the Lynchburg expressway.
The operation will start on Sunday evening, April 27 through Friday, May 2, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., beginning at the Carter Glass Bridge heading southbound and then switching mid-week to northbound lanes.
VDOT: National Work Zone Awareness Week underway
During these dates and times, one lane will be open with traffic attenuators and arrow boards in place.
Motorists can expect minor traffic delays and should use caution while driving through the work zone. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.

Minor injuries reported in south Abilene collision
ABILENE, Texas () – A collision in south Abilene has sent one to the hospital with minor injuries. Just after 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, a crash occurred in the 5000 block of US 277. According to police, the driver of the Sedan was attempting to pull into the Taco Bueno parking lot when the truck, traveling westbound, collided with them.
