Ryanair's 'perfect' hand luggage bag that 'holds enough for a four-day break' is on sale at Amazon
As summer holidays approach, many Irish holidaymakers are seeking ways to save money, particularly in light of the ongoing cost of living crisis.
A popular travel hack that's on the rise is packing everything into a complimentary piece of hand luggage instead of shelling out extra for checked baggage. Like many budget airlines, Ryanair permits passengers to carry one small bag free of charge, provided it fits under the seat in front.
However, arriving at the airport with an oversized bag can lead to substantial charges, making the hunt for the ideal airline-approved backpack crucial. One bag that's been causing a stir among regular travellers is a Ryanair-approved cabin bag that shoppers can't stop praising - and we've just noticed that Amazon has reduced its price, making it even more of a bargain.
The Xkdoai Cabin Bag, originally priced at a very reasonable €25.01, is now only €20.50. With over 200 sales in the last month and a stellar 4.7 out of 5 star rating from hundreds of reviews, this deal is predicted to sell out quickly.

The bag, which measures a Ryanair-compliant 40 x 20 x 25 cm, comes in five different colours, each priced slightly differently, offering an option to match every traveller's taste, reports the Irish Mirror. A reviewer raved about their experience with the bag for a quick getaway to Spain, sharing: "Excellent, used it on a 4 day break to Spain and couldn't believe how much I fitted in to it."
Someone else chimed in with praise: "I use travel cubes and you can easily fit at least 4 days worth of clothes in the main compartment as well as electronics and a wash bag. The straps are super comfortable and seem durable enough, I certainly never worried about them snapping or breaking."
Another traveller commented on its perfect dimensions for budget flights: "Perfect fit for free Ryanair hand baggage allowance. Seems good quality and has all the pockets you could need. The bag is small but would work for a 2 to 3 night break if you pack carefully."
A fourth review applauded the bag's design and capacity: "These bags are brilliant! Fit in the Ryanair slot and plenty of room inside with extra pockets I used the bags inside u suck air out of so doubled up for. 5 day break away, they are light and comfy to carry, like others have said water bottle holders on side would be good but then wouldn't fit in the bag checker but other than that highly recommend few friends have bow brought and loved them definitely getting few more in diff colours for my kids".

However, the feedback wasn't unanimously positive. A less satisfied customer critiqued the bag's design for comfort: "The bag itself is space wise is good! But the shoulder straps are so small for an adult."
And another voiced disappointment in the material quality: "Material is not as per expectation." For further details or to purchase the Xkdoai Cabin Bag from Amazon's newly launched website, click HERE.
Alternatively, the consistently popular brand Cabin Max offers a variety of Ryanair-approved bags, such as the Manhattan 20L Cabin Backpack for €37.21. One astute traveller has shared their experience of using it on their last five Ryanair journeys without any issues.
Next Ireland also stocks a selection of Cabin Max bags, including the Metz 20L Underseat Cabin Bag for €37, although stock levels are currently listed as 'low'.

Whether you're a grandparent interested in tales of the Titanic, a parent seeking quality time exploring the outdoors and museums, or a family looking to create fun memories, Cobh is a destination where generations can connect. It's a powerful and immersive visit that captures the imagination of all ages. Alternatively tourists can visit Cobh Heritage Centre to explore Ireland's rich emigration story. The centre brings to life the poignant journeys of those who left Ireland through Cobh — once known as Queenstown — for new lives in America, Australia, Canada and beyond. Exhibits explore everything from the Titanic and Lusitania, Annie Moore to convict ships and Irish diaspora history with a pictorial quiz and colouring station to keep younger children busy. Then, set sail for Spike Island, a short ferry ride from Cobh and one of Europe's most captivating heritage sites. Part fortress, part prison, part wide open spaces — its story is delivered with energy and humour by expert guides and fun exhibits, making even the weightiest history accessible to young minds and engaging for adults. Back on dry land, tourists can take time to explore the picturesque town. Dublin dominates as top winter break location as seasonal spending rises substantially
More than half of all Irish city trips in the winter months were to Dublin, new figures from Fáilte Ireland show, with the capital accounting for 52% of city breaks between November and February. Publishing its Consumer Winter Report 2025 this week, Fáilte Ireland found that increased popularity of Dublin saw marginally less demand for breaks across some other Irish cities. Galway comprised 20% of winter trips, down from 23% in the same time last year, while Kilkenny made up 9% of winter breaks, down from 11%. Waterford remained unchanged, with 12% of city breaks taking place in the south-east city. Meanwhile, 17% of the city trips last winter were to Cork, up from 15% in the same season last year, with Limerick comprising 10%, up marginally compared to the same period 12 months ago. While there has been little change in the share of travel, the number of domestic trips across the country has risen significantly in the past three years, Fáilte Ireland found, helped by St Brigid's Day which became a bank holiday in 2023. The tourism agency also found that year-on-year card spending throughout the winter months and into March saw substantial increases, outpacing inflation during the same period. The spending figures indicate that consumers have enjoyed increased disposable income, likely contributing positively to Ireland's tourism sector throughout the winter months. Latest CSO data indicates that holiday spend for 2024 is up 12% annually, Fáilte Ireland said, with it likely that this continued into early 2025, as indicated by the Central Bank of Ireland. However, the agency said it is important to note that the increase in spending is not necessarily evenly distributed, with affordability pressures such as housing costs and inflation limiting the spending of younger and lower-income groups. While the proportion of people taking domestic breaks has remained relatively unchanged, the number of trips have increased, with this suggesting an increase in the frequency of taking trips amongst those already taking breaks. With spending up and household financial situation improving, Fáilte Ireland said it augers well for the sector this summer. However, it said sentiment is still somewhat tentative, with value for money remaining a key consideration for consumers. "The cost-of-living situation demands for more financially palatable holiday experiences in Ireland," Fáilte Ireland said. "Identifying what will make holidays less of a financial burden for key segments is key to ensuring travel plans are kept."
