Brooklyn Beckham's Nicola tattoos decoded as family fear 'unhealthy' marriage

Daily Mirror7 days ago

Brooklyn Beckham is sentimental when it comes to his body art, with around 70 tattoos in honour of his wife Nicola Peltz and others in sweet tributes to family members, including his famous partners and three siblings
Like his famous father, Brooklyn Beckham has become known for his wide range of body art and has amassed an impressive collection of tattoos. The 26-year-old has around 100 inkings dotted across his body - and more than half of them are dedicated to his wife Nicola Peltz.
"She always cries when I get her another tattoo," he told USA Today. "I always love to surprise her with new ink." Brooklyn, who has been with Nicola since 2019, is believed to have around 70 tattoos honouring his better half, while others are dedicated to his family, including parents Victoria and David Beckham, and his three siblings.

However, amid the sad rift between Brooklyn and his family, sources say friends of the Beckhams are particularly concerned by the amount of ink he has dedicated to his wife. A source said: "I think anyone can see that's problematic to say the least, and it's another facet of an unhealthy relationship. But he is totally besotted."

But for Brooklyn, it's a sign of immense affection. "They're very addictive, especially when you love someone you just want to cover everywhere," he shared with E! News. Here, we take a look at his inkings and the meanings behind them...
Family tributes
Brooklyn got his first ever piece of permanent ink at the age of 18 in 2017. Taking guidance from his heavily tattooed father, he used his dad's long-time artist Mark Mahoney when going under the needle for a controversial image of a Native American chief in a feathered headdress on his forearm.
The following year, when missing his mum Victoria during New York Fashion Week in 2018, Brooklyn paid tribute to the designer with a rose-embellished heart tattooed on his bicep, accompanied by the word 'MUM'.
The eldest Beckham boy has also marked his love for his siblings, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, and father over the years - marking his brothers and sister's date of birth on his body, as well as '1975', the year former Manchester United player David was born, on his hand.

Romantic gestures
Rather than opting for any old designs, the photographer is no stranger to selecting sentimental quotes and phrases to adorn his body. Among his tattoos is the word 'married', which is inked on the side of his left hand. "I kind of was just like, 'Oh, we're married, why not?'," he told USA Today. "It wasn't a thing I thought about for months. I got married five months ago, why not?"
In addition to sporting a wedding band, Brooklyn has Nicola's first initial tattooed on his ring finger alongside a heart. Not stopping there, he has the word 'lover' inked on his index finger and 'Nicola Anne Peltz' and the word 'baby' tattooed on the upper part of his hand.

After tying the knot in April 2022, Nicola and Brooklyn opted for the double-barrel surname, 'Peltz Beckham'. In homage to his wife's maiden name, just months after getting married, Brooklyn got 'Peltz' tattooed across his chest in July 2022.
Wedding vows
But that's not all. As well as having the word 'married' to indicate his relationship status, Brooklyn also has a copy of his wedding vows inked on the underside of his upper-right arm, spanning from his armpit to his elbow.
"Nicola when you walked down the aisle you took my breath away you look so beautiful tonight and always.

"Let me start by saying that words cannot even describe my love for you just looking at you I see my future and it feels like a dream. You are my world and I continue to fall more in love with you every single day," part of it reads.
Finishing off the lengthy tattoo, the passage ends: "I promise to be the best partner, the best husband and man and to always take care of you, to make you laugh, feel safe and more importantly, loved.

"I can't wait to live out our dreams together and have lots of babies and be yours forever because you are forever mine."
Emotional letters
While things don't quite get more special than wedding vows, the hopeless romantic also has a love letter from Nicola inked on his neck. In the sweet note, the Transformers actress addresses her "forever boy".

It says: "You have the kindest heart I've ever met and hope I never go a day without your love. I think you are so incredible. Just we can get through it all together if you breathe slow and trust. I love you beyond. Love always, your future wifey."
But away from the romantic words, Brooklyn has an impressive portrait of Nicola on the upper portion of his left arm. Unveiling the ink in March 2023 while on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Brooklyn explained that underneath the design were the lyrics from the song Nicola walked down the aisle to.
For Nicola's family
In 2020, Nicola's beloved grandmother, Gina, sadly died on the night before her birthday. In memory of Gina, Brooklyn got a tattoo dedicated to her, which made for a touching birthday gift for the actress. Sharing a photo of the ink, which featured Gina's name written on his arm, Nicola wrote: "Best birthday gift."
In 2022, Brooklyn surprised Nicola yet again by getting the words of a prayer loved by Gina tattooed on his torso. "Focused on the present, sincere towards others and trusting in ourselves, know that you cannot fail," it reads.

Is 'bad attitude' useful? Fans on Cunha signing

We asked for your views on Matheus Cunha signing for Manchester are some of your comments:Nick: I'm happy with this. We're creating, but not scoring, so getting someone in who has experience scoring in the Premier League can only be a good I think it is a fantastic signing in this struggling Manchester United era. I see hope because he can play in so many positions in Ruben Amorim's 3-4-3/3-4-2-1 and United need goals, that's all they Cunha has the skills but does he have the temperament for the most 'under the microscope' and 'under pressure' club currently in the world? I hope so but so much needs to change around him to get the best from him. Let's hope Amorim's plan gets the support from the boardroom. I'm still holding my At last; the right player, at the right price and at the right age. What could go wrong?Karl: Definitely a step in the right direction. His stats say he has everything we've been missing - awareness, speed, balance, a finishing edge and above all, confidence. Can't wait to see how he works alongside the likes of Amad, Fernandes and Yes, he's renowned for his 'bad attitude' but that's just because he wants to win, which is an attitude sadly lacking in quite a few of our current squad. I seem to recall a certain Mr Cantona was slated for his attitude when we signed him!

Napoli's savvy Scott McTominay decision revealed with Serie A champions set to benefit from Scotland ace's mega stardom

He seemed to immediately get a new lease of life and has never looked back. Establishing himself as a fans' favourite from the off, McTominay finished the season as THE undisputed hero in the eyes of Napoli's famously fanatic band of followers. The fandom only heightened when the Hampden hero netted a stunning overhead kick to send Napoli on their way to a 2-0 win over Cagliari on the final day of the season - a victory that saw them crowned champions of Italy. On the same night, he was also named Serie A's MVP for the 2024/25 season. In the days that followed, McTominay thrilled fans by being front and centre of the wild celebrations that followed. Napoli supporters have shown their love for the Scotland star in many weird, wonderful and extravagant ways. A stunning shrine to the midfield ace appeared in the city centre, pizzas have been named in his honour and one fan even got a TATTOO. The incredible ink didn't, however, bear McTominay's name, instead carrying 'McFratm'. Like McTominay himself, his nickname has taken the Italian football world by storm. Scott McTominay dances with old fan while puffing on cigarette as never-ending Napoli title party continues Coined by a teammate, the player himself revealed it was his favourite of all the nicknames he'd been given, with McTerminator among the others. McFratm basically translates to 'McBro' and many Napoli fans have taken to referring to the midfielder by the term instead of his actual name. It's born from the Neapolitan word 'fratermo' which means 'my brother.' It's appeared on scarves, T-shirts and even on the mural in Naples. But that could all be about to change after Napoli made a big decision. According to Gazzetta, Napoli have TRADEMARKED 'McFratm.' Scott McTominay's career Born in Lancaster on December 8, 1996 Joined the Manchester United youth system aged five and signed his first professional contract in 2013 Made his Premier League debut against Arsenal in May 2017 McTominay went on to win Carabao Cup and FA Cup with Man Utd Made 255 appearances and scored 29 goals for the Red Devils McTominay joined Napoli in August for £25.7million Born in England, he qualified for Scotland through his dad who's from Helensburgh McTominay was called-up by Scotland in March 2018 and has gone on to become a huge Hampden favourite He was part of the squad at Euro 2020 and Euro 2024 He won his 50th cap while playing against Germany at Euro 2024 McTominay has scored some huge goals for Scotland, including an injury-time winner against Israel and his famous double in the 2-0 win over Spain in Glasgow The shrewd move means the club are hoping to benefit commercially from the incredible buzz surrounding McTominay. Napoli filed for the trademark in the middle of last month and covers nine different product categories. It means the club will be able to license and realise an abundance of 'McFratm' merchandise as well as using it for marketing and promotional purposes.
