Liverpool parade crash injured rises to 109
The number of reported injuries from the Liverpool victory parade has risen to 109, police have said.
Four remained in hospital on Monday, a week after a car ploughed into fans celebrating Liverpool FC's Premier League title win.
Police initially said 79 people had been injured in the incident on Water Street, and later revealed that the youngest victim was nine, and the eldest 78.
Meanwhile, Paul Doyle, a former Royal Marine, 53, appeared at Liverpool magistrates' court on Friday facing seven charges, including wounding with intent, causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and attempting to cause GBH with intent and dangerous driving.
In an update on Monday, a Merseyside Police spokesman said: 'The number of people reported to have been injured currently stands at 109.'
Detective Superintendent Rachel Wilson said it was a 'complex and constantly evolving investigation'.
She added: 'We are still working through and assessing those reporting being injured and our inquiries remain ongoing.
'I would like to thank everyone who has been in touch with us so far to give witness accounts or supply information or video footage. The response so far has been of great assistance in progressing the investigation.
'We have had more than 500 submissions to the Major Incident Police Portal (MIPP) and a team of detectives are currently working through the information provided.
'I would continue to appeal for anyone who has information and is yet to come forward to please get in touch as a matter of urgency.'
Mr Doyle's charges relate to six victims, including two children aged 11 and 17.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear for a plea hearing on August 14.
Detective Superintendent Wilson said: 'As a person has now been charged in connection with this incident, I would like to remind people not to speculate or share information or footage which could in any way jeopardise the case.
'We understand that emotions are still running high, and people are seeking answers, but it is vital that we allow the matter to go through the judicial process.'
Police previously said they believed the car that struck pedestrians was able to follow an ambulance crew attending to someone suffering a heart attack after a road block during Liverpool FC's celebrations was temporarily lifted.

He was most recently head coach at Red Bull Salzburg, having decided to leave Anfield at the same time as Klopp. But he endured a disastrous reign in Austria and was sacked in December, with Salzburg 10 points behind Sturm Graz in the Bundesliga. Lijnders also held talks with Norwich City over their managers' job, though that has since gone to Liam Manning. The Dutchman made a key step towards securing his move to City on Wednesday. Salzburg announced that they had come to an agreement with Lijnders to offically terminate his contract. That move paves the way for him to link up with City as Guardiola's new lieutenant. Salzburg's Managing Director for Sport and General Manager hailed Lijnders as they confirmed the termination of his deal. "After some very constructive and positive discussions in recent days, we have terminated the contract with our former coach Pepijn Lijnders by mutual agreement," Rouven Schröder and Stephan Reiter said in a joint statement. A buzzard named Brenda has been causing a bit of chaos in the village of Havering-atte-Bower, in bird of prey has been spotted swooping down at people - so children at the nearby local primary school have been told they cannot play outside while the bird is RSPCA thinks that Brenda's behaviour could be because she is protecting a nest or are one of the most common birds of prey in the UK, and are a protected species under UK law, meaning that the options on what to do about Brenda "are very limited" according to the local council. Havering Council said its health and safety team has given "detailed advice to the academy trust which looks after the school", including things they can do to safely deter Brenda from swooping at people, including hiring a falconry expert who understands the bird's school's Head Teacher Stella McCarthy told the BBC they were trying to figure out a way to allow children to play outside where possible, including taking pupils to a nearby school for outdoor play and finding a different location for sports day."We had to think about how to risk assess this... it's quite an unusual situation, having to risk assess a buzzard," she said. After accepting that "there was nothing we could do" to remove the bird of prey, the school decided to embrace her instead."The children named the bird Brenda and put out posters for protecting Brenda and looking after her... they've been writing stories, reports; next week they'll be doing newspaper articles, they've done artwork."As part of their learning, they even had a bird of prey expert visit the school - bringing with him a Chilean blue buzzard eagle called Ross Hicking said: "Guido (can) help educate the children about what Brenda the buzzard is dong, why she's behaving like this, the natural habits of buzzards, to foster interest in birds of prey and also to teach them about conservation and what we can do to protect birds of prey in the wild."He also said that, while "99% of the time" buzzards would avoid people due to fear, Brenda's swooping could be connected with the nesting also said that living in an area near to people meant that "she's a lot more comfortable around people and lot less fearful than most buzzards would be."
