OWEN JENNER sadly passed away after a devastating crash at a British Superbikes event at Oulton Park.
The 21-year-old was involved in an 11-man 'chain reaction' collision after the first turn of Monday's race in Cheshire, killing him and fellow rider Shane Richardson.
Owen, from East Sussex, raced for Rapid Honda and became British GP2 champion in 2024 after winning 18 out of 20 races.
Rapid Honda has previously said: 'Owen has impressed us all at Rapid Honda over recent seasons and his career is on a clear ascendancy.
'He should be a title challenger in British Supersport in 2025.'
What happened to Owen Jenner?
The incident happened at the first turn when one rider lost control and skidded across the tarmac into another, resulting in a 'chain reaction' crash.
One bike caught fire within the pile-up, which saw medics race onto the track before the event was abandoned.
Owen, racing under number 86, initially received immediate medical attention trackside before being rushed to the circuit's medical centre.
Despite attempts to resuscitate him, Owen passed away due to a 'catastrophic head injury'.
New Zealander Shane Richardson, 29, also died as a result of the crash while fellow Brit Tom Tunstall was taken to hospital with significant back and abdominal injuries.
Five other riders were treated for minor injuries but did not require additional medical assistance.

In an official statement, MotorSport Vision Racing, who are responsible for circuit operations at Oulton Park, confirmed the heartbreaking news about Shane and Owen's passing.
It read: 'At the start of this afternoon's Quattro Group British Supersport Championship race at Oulton Park, exiting turn one, Old Hall corner on the first lap, there was a chain reaction incident involving 11 riders falling. The race was immediately stopped and trackside medical services deployed.
"Due to the extreme severity of the incident and ongoing medical intervention, the remainder of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship event was cancelled.
"This catastrophic accident has tragically resulted in two riders being fatally injured, and another sustaining significant injuries."
Fellow British Superbike rider Glenn Irwin posted on social media to pay tribute to Owen and Shane.
He said: 'Owen you were always smiling, just a young kid chasing your dream and having fun along the way.
'Shane, I didn't know you personally but watching videos and photos of you and your little family I can see how much of an amazing dad and partner that you are along with being a top rider.
"Rest in peace boys - life can be so so cruel. We will continue to offer support to your families in the coming times ahead, my thoughts go to the entire British Superbike team of organisers, Marshals, medics and the wider community.'
Isle of Man TT race winner and British Superbike rider Peter Hickman said: 'Gutted beyond belief. Our sport can be so cruel sometimes.
'My thoughts are with all the families of everyone involved in that tragic accident yesterday. Ride in peace boys.'
National Superstock rider Kam Dixon said he 'lost a brother today'.
'There really wasn't anyone like our OJ [Owen Jenner]. This kid was such a talent and will always be in my heart, he was the best mate.
'Not many people can say they have won three British Championships. Love you mate.'
Why is Owen Jenner's death being investigated by police?
An investigation has been launched by Cheshire Police following the tragic crash.
Cheshire Police said: 'Police are investigating two deaths on behalf of the coroner following a multiple collision at Oulton Park this afternoon.
'Emergency services were called to the scene following the collision which resulted in two riders being fatally injured and another with serious injuries.
'The Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board and MotorSport Vision Racing are investigating the full circumstances of the incident in conjunction with the Coroner and Cheshire Police.'

Owen had a prolific racing career, being crowned Superstock champion in 2020 and 2023.
The Brit also became GP2 champion in 2024, winning the title with 18 wins out of 20 race finishes.
The 21-year-old was predicted by many, including his team - Rapid Honda, to reach the top of British Superbikes.

Bermuda Longtail looked promising when beaten half a length in a York Listed contest last month and has much more to come. She gets plenty of weight for age too. A repeat of that would put him in the place picture from what should be an ideal draw. 2.45 JER BATT always faced a tough task from a wide draw at Chester last time yet still ran a good race. He has some fine handicap form over this trip yet is still on a fair weight and the booking of Oisin Murphy is a plus. He'll be right there. Clarendon House is quirky but has enough quality to figure if he fancies it. He went well in the Group 3 Palace House at Newmarket last time. Last year's winner Dream Composer was also badly drawn at Chester latest but looked much better when second at Pontefract on comeback. He can figure again. Jm Jungle has been placed in hot York handicaps on his past two outings. He likes this trip and is a quick starter so has every chance. Vintage Clarets showed positive signs on the Knavesmire latest and is in the each-way picture too. 3.30 PRIDE OF ARRAS was a brilliant Dante winner at York and has more to come. French raider Midak looks overpriced, while Lambourn would have a say if the rain comes. Pressure mounts on Scotland boss Steve Clarke after young keeper's debut turns into Hampden horror show
Steve Clarke claimed he had no choice but to select Cieran Slicker after the keeper endured a nightmare on his Scotland debut. A dismal 3-1 defeat to Iceland in their Hampden friendly led to jeers from the Tartan Army, and intensified the pressure on the manager ahead of the World Cup qualifiers in the autumn. Thrown on to replace the injured Angus Gunn after eight minutes, Slicker was at fault for each goal, but the 22-year-old wasn't solely to blame as Clarke's side turned in a lifeless and flat performance. Called into the squad despite playing just nine minutes of competitive football for Ipswich this season, his first involvement was a poor kick which led to Andri Gudjohnsen's opener, with another error amid a static Scotland defence leading to Lewis Ferguson's own goal after John Souttar had equalised. He then failed to keep out a routine header by Victor Palsson. Asked why he had turned to the young keeper, Clarke said Robby McCrorie had injured his thigh in the warm-up, and admitted the experience simply came too soon for Slicker. Not everyone plays regularly at their club. It is something we have to address and look at. But it is not going to change in a click of the fingers. Arsenal step up talks with £70m striker who is keen on Emirates move - as Mikel Arteta eyes former Chelsea star
Arsenal have stepped up talks with Red Bull Leipzig for striker Benjamin Sesko. The Gunners are working to get a deal done at around £70million for the Slovenian but are yet to bid. Sesko, who scored 21 goals and had six assists in all competitions last season, including four in the Champions League, wants the move. The Gunners previously had offers for Sesko rejected in May last year and during the most recent January transfer window. The north Londoners had looked to bolster their forward options in January and put in offers for Sesko and Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, both of which were rejected. Mikel Arteta was left short in the final third of the pitch for the second half of the season when Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz both suffered serious injuries in January and February respectively. They were also without Bukayo Saka for much of the 2024-25 campaign, after he suffered a hamstring injury that required surgery just before Christmas. While winger Gabriel Martinelli was also absent at various points. As a result they were forced to play with Mikel Merino, traditionally a central midfield player, as an emergency forward. While Merino did put up impressive numbers in his unfamiliar role, scoring nine goals and contributing five assists, a lack of depth in attack ultimately saw Arsenal fade away in the title race. Arsenal also want Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga though he is assessing all options. Arteta's side have lost Neto who has returned to Bournemouth after a season on loan at the Emirates and they lack an experienced back-up for first choice keeper David Raya. Kepa was on loan at Bournemouth last season and is not wanted at Chelsea. Kepa's return to Stamford Bridge means that Enzo Maresca's side have five shot-stoppers on their books, including Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic and Mike Penders. The Spaniard has one year left on his deal, having joined Chelsea in 2018. Kepa has won the Champions League and Europa League with the Blues and has a £5m release clause.
