But he's revealed that a chat with both Ancelotti junior and his father convinced him he is ready to return to the international fold.
Casemiro said: "I've had contact with Carlo but the first person I spoke to was Davide Ancelotti because I have great affection for him.
"Without a doubt, Carlo's appointment is fantastic for Brazil because of his greatness.
"When you appoint a manager as good as him, it increases Brazil's chances of winning the World Cup, of course it does.
"So I would love to return to the national team and play for him again.
"My only regret is that he wasn't appointed sooner because he doesn't have a lot of time before the World Cup next year.
"Brazil needed a big name like that, someone with respect and stature. And Carlo Ancelotti is exceptional."
