22News weather reporter Jack Wu says goodbye to western Mass.
CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – After two years of reporting weather at WWLP-22News in western Massachusetts, Jack Wu is taking his career to West Palm Beach, Florida.
Long Island, New York native, Jack Wu, was a graduate of Arizona State University, where he obtained a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Before arriving at 22News, Jack was a weather anchor and sustainability reporter at Arizona PBS. He moved to western Massachusetts and started working for 22News in 2023.

On Wednesday night, Jack provided our viewers with one last forecast.
'It all started two years ago. June 29th was my first time doing the 10 p.m. newscast. A lot has changed over the past two years, but it's been a very memorable experience. And I can't thank everyone enough who's worked here, from the anchors to the producers, photographers, and behind-the-scenes staff in production as well. But most of all, the viewers, everyone in the community really made me feel so welcome,' Jack Wu as he signs off for the last time on 22News.

Hydrant flushing to begin in Greenfield this week
GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The city of Greenfield is alerting residents to hydrant flushing that will take place throughout the week. Starting Monday, crews will begin flushing hydrants from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every day throughout this week and into next week. Residents should be aware that their tap water may be slightly discolored in the afternoon when their neighborhood hydrants are affected, and are encouraged to run the water to clear it prior to drinking it or doing laundry. This maintenance is set to take place to ensure that high-quality water is running through the city by removing any sediment from rusting pipe work and water main breaks. Additionally, officials stated that all hydrants in the city will be flushed, which helps identify any malfunctioning hydrants so that they can be repaired ahead of potential emergencies. Springfield Family Expo provides student support resources
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Public Schools spent the day on Saturday celebrating the power of community. The third annual Family Expo was held by Springfield Public Schools inside the MassMutual Center. The second floor was filled with over 100 organizations, with live entertainment and artwork from the students in the district. Golf tournament raises funds for new veterans monument in Springfield This fun-filled event was to help families understand what resources are out there to support them, such as early literacy, middle school transition, college and career readiness, or post-secondary success. This year's theme, 'Believe in the Power of CommUNITY,' was inspired by the superintendent of Springfield Public Schools. 'It's believing in our students and the capabilities that they have, believing in our families, believing in our community,' said Assistant Superintendent Jose Escribano. 'And just the opportunity when all of us come together, we can accomplish great things. But we just have to believe that we can all come together to do that.' Every family also got the chance to complete exit surveys to give feedback about the event and the district. Those surveys led to raffle prizes like PlayStations and grills. Sidewalks to close Monday for repairs in Pittsfield
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Several sidewalks in Pittsfield will be closed to pedestrians starting on Monday as crews conduct repair work. LIST: Ironman triathlon to cause weekend road closures City officials shared that numerous asphalt sidewalks will be replaced with concrete beginning on Monday, with work taking place across the next four weeks. The following sidewalks will begin undergoing repair work this week: North side of Columbus Avenue from Robbins Avenue to Francis Avenue North side of Summer Street from Francis Avenue to Center Street South side of Union Street from Francis Avenue to Union Street South side of Bradford Street from Francis Avenue to Center Street North side of Bradford Street from Center Street to North Street While repairs are taking place, these sidewalks will be closed for pedestrian use. Those walking in the area will be able to use the sidewalks on the alternate side of the street. These repairs are funded through the Community Development Block Grant. All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
