Tee Higgins: I plan on staying healthy because offense could be deadly
Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins got the long-term contract that he's been looking for this offseason and he's now focused on two goals for the 2025 season.
Higgins told reporters on Tuesday that he wants 'to go do what they paid me to do' as a weapon in the passing game. Higgins had 73 catches for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns last season and those numbers could have been even bigger if he had not missed five games due to soft tissue injuries.
Those absences lead Higgins to his second goal. He also missed five games during the 2023 season and he spent the early part of the offseason 'doing things that prevent those injuries happening' again this year because he knows what the Bengals can do if they are at full strength.
'I plan on staying healthy,' Higgins said, via Cincinnati Bengals Talk. 'Let's not say 'if.' Let's not do that. It's too early to be doing that. I plan on it. When I do, definitely could be deadly.'
Offense wasn't the problem in Cincinnati last season and it's unlikely to be the issue in 2025 if Higgins is on the field the majority of the time. Whether that leads to a better outcome for the team is a tougher question to answer at this point in the calendar.

There's no reason to think Brown will see a reduction in chances next year despite Moss coming back on a reworked contract and Samaje Perine re-joining the team. The team would like to do more to keep Brown healthy late into the season, perhaps, but not enough to have him ranked so low when it seems like he and the offense as a whole could be improved in 2025, if not at least more balanced. CINCINNATI, Ohio (WDTN) – Tippecanoe's Jackson Davis hauled in 2 touchdowns in Dayton's 20-14 loss to Cincinnati during the third annual MVFCA-SWOFCA high school senior All-Star Game at Roger Bacon on Friday night. 'I'm super excited to be here with some great coaches and a bunch of great players from the Dayton area, just competing and going after. It's a great time. I have great teammates, so it just feels great to cap off my high school career with this game,' said Davis. The Queen City all-stars took an early 12-0 lead, but the Gem City answered right back. Greeneview quarterback Alex Horney hit the Red Devils' star wide receiver, Davis, on a slant across the middle for Dayton's first score of the game. After a crucial interception by Carlisle's Blake Lawson, Xenia quarterback Gavin McManus marched the Miami Valley down to the redzone and finished the drive with another passing strike to Davis for his second TD to put MVFCA ahead 14-12. But in the final moments of the second quarter, a costly pass interference penalty on the Gem City gives the Queen City a free untimed down and they capitalize with the go-ahead touchdown to take a 20-14 lead. After halftime, officials would call the game due to thunderstorms in the area, giving Cincinnati its second straight win over Dayton in this renewed rivalry to lead the series 2-1. D-backs and Reds suspended after 6 innings by rain, will resume Saturday
CINCINNATI — The Arizona Diamondbacks and Cincinnati Reds game on Friday night was suspended by rain with the score tied 3-3 after six innings. The game is scheduled to resume on Saturday at 2:10 p.m. The regularly-scheduled game will begin approximately 40 minutes after the completion of the suspended game. Arizona hit back-to-back homers in the third off Reds left-hander Nick Lodolo with Ketel Marte's two-run shot followed immediately by Geraldo Perdomo's solo homer to make the score 3-0. It's the third time this season that the D-backs have hit consecutive homers, but the first since May 9 against the Dodgers. TJ Friedl's two-run homer trimmed Cincinnati's deficit to 3-2 in the third. Eduardo Rodriguez started for Arizona and allowed two earned runs and five hits in five innings. Reds first baseman Christian Encarnacion-Strand, who was reinstated from the injured list Friday, tied the score 3-3 with a solo homer off Cristian Mena in the sixth. It was his first home run since April 5. With the score tied in the sixth, the Reds had runners on first and third with two outs, but Cristian Mena got pinch-hitter Gavin Lux to ground to third ending the inning just before the rain delay. It's the fifth game since Great American Ball Park opened in 2003 to be suspended and completed the next day.
