'Don't stay in the pubs' - player's plea before Ulster Ladies Final
Donegal ladies full-back Abigail Temple Asokuh wants the early-arrival fans at Clones on Saturday to attend their Ulster Final contest with holders Armagh rather than being tempted to stay in the town's bars in advance of men's senior provincial decider between the two same counties.
The ladies decider will throw-in at 15:00 BST at St Tiernach's Park and is live on the BBC iPlayer with the much-anticipated men's final following at 17:25.

Clones' access issues means many Donegal and Armagh fans will arrive in the Monaghan market town hours before the men's throw-in and Temple Asokuh, 19, is appealing to supporters not to ignore the women's decider.
"Hopefully, the Donegal fans turn up for our game too and don't leave it late to get out of the pubs. The tickets are for both games," said the Ballybofey woman.
Armagh and Donegal have dominated the Ulster Ladies Championship since 2017 with both counties securing four titles over the last eight seasons.
Last year's decider between the two counties went to extra-time with the Orchard women eventually earning a 0-17 to 1-12 triumph.

"It's great opening for the men. It's great coverage for us. And what better team to go up against than Armagh. That's where you want to be. So it'll be a great occasion," added the Dublin City University student.
Armagh's star forward Aimee Mackin sustained a cruciate ligament injury in last year's provincial decider which is still keeping her out of action although she is fulfilling water carrier duties for joint bosses Darnell Parkinson and Joe Feeney.
Mackin's sister Blaithin missed last year's provincial final because of injury but will play this weekend while their brother Connaire has been named in the Armagh men's squad.
Their other footballing sibling Ciaran is sadly out injured again after suffering a recurrence of the knee trouble which saw him missing out on the closing stages of last year's victorious All-Ireland campaign.

"It will be a painful one [for Aimee] when you are itching to play and you're part of a team," Blaithin told BBC Sport NI.
"She's been doing the water girl role for the majority of the games during the league and just been really good support and a really good voice even from the sidelines but it will be tough for her definitely."
Aimee suffered the injury in last year's decider after an innocuous looking challenge in what was the second time she had sustained ACL damage after previous misfortune in 2019.
"I remember seeing it myself and I was like 'surely not, like it couldn't happen again'," added Blaithin.

"But unfortunately that was the outcome and it's been a long and tough year for her but she's dealt with her really well and obviously having Ciaran for the most part to support her through it. They have been very good to each other."
Mackin's mixes GAA with AFLW career
All four Mackin siblings still live under the same roof with mum and dad so it's not a surprise that football is often a topic of discussion in the household.
"It's any sports really 24-7 in the house and dad will be out with the sweets and making matches and showing us his tactics doing the match-ups," laughs Blaithin, who is mixing her Armagh career with also playing for Melbourne Demons in the Women's Australian Football League.

Macken adds that Connaire and Ciaran, and indeed all the Armagh men's squad are very supportive of the ladies team.
"We're very very lucky in Armagh, the men's players take a real interest in how we are doing.
"They genuinely know and care about how we are doing so I think the double-header is great. We don't have to say [this weekend] 'oh we're missing yours or you are missing ours'."
With Donegal this year having operated in Division Two of the Ladies National Football League where they missed out on promotion, the sides have not met this season.
Armagh's fast start in Division One saw them clinching a place in the final with two games to spare but they were unable to retain their title as All-Ireland champions Kerry won the league decider 4-14 to 0-11.

"We probably felt we dominated the first 15 minutes in the league final and had a lot of chances but didn't convert any of them and they carried straight down the field and got a goal and as any player knows, that just completely drains you," added Mackin.
Temple Asokuh says Donegal were content to retain their Division Two status as they attempted to bed in several new players following a number of retirements.
The Sean MacCumhaills player missed most of the league campaign because of an ankle injury picked up in the early contest against Roscommon but is now back to full fitness.
"We're in a good position. We didn't make it out of Division Two, but at the same time, I think we were happy with where we are," added Mackin, whose Nigerian father Eloka Asokuh came to Donegal in the early noughties to play for Finn Harps and has remained there ever since with his family.

Donegal boss James Daly has lost the services of experienced campaigners such as Niamh McLaughlin, Katy Herron, Tara Hegarty and Amy Boyle Carr but is still able to call upon the likes of skipper Roisin Rodgers, Evelyn McGinley, Niamh Boyle and Susanne White.
Youngsters who have been introduced into the Donegal squad include Rhiana McColgan, Ciara McGarvey, Ava Walsh and Laoise Ryan.

Adair returns for T20 series but injured trio ruled out
Mark Adair returns to the Ireland squad for the T20I series against West Indies [Getty Images] Mark Adair has returned to the Ireland squad for the three-match T20 series against the West Indies at Bready, but Craig Young, Curtis Campher and Gareth Delany have been ruled out. Pace bowler Adair returns from injury after missing the recent one-day international series against the same opposition, which ended in a draw. Advertisement Bowler Young and all-rounder Campher were also absent for those games and have not recovered sufficiently to take their place in the squad for the ODIs. Joining them on the sidelines is another all-rounder, Gareth Delany, who sustained an injury in a club game on Monday evening. Coming into the squad are Tim Tector, Stephen Doheny and spin bowler Gavin Hoey. Tector, 22, made his international debut against Zimbabwe in February and is the younger brother of experienced batter Harry. Doheny, 26, played three T20Is against Zimbabwe in January 2023, while 23-year-old Hoey participated in two ODIs in 2024, but has not played T20I cricket yet. Advertisement The T20 encounters will be played on Thursday 12 June, Saturday 14 June and Sunday 15 June. Ireland national men's selector Andrew White said injuries to key players had made it "a trying period of late". "Both the recent ODI series, and this month's T20I series, against West Indies have really tested the strength of depth in our talent pool," said White. "While we never like to see a player injured, such circumstances do offer an opportunity for other players to step up and demonstrate their talent. "With the next men's T20 World Cup approaching in February 2026, this series is an important part of preparing the squad for the challenge and will serve as a good barometer of where we are at." Friendlies can help Republic of Ireland prepare for World Cup campaign
Heimir Hallgrimsson will send his Republic of Ireland side into friendly battle with Senegal on Friday night with one eye on the forthcoming World Cup qualifying campaign. The Icelander, who is eight games into the role and to date has enjoyed modest success, took up the reins targeting qualification for next summer's finals, and now has just two matches left in which to finalise his plans. Advertisement Here, the PA news agency takes a look at some of the talking points surrounding the first of them. Success breeds success Ireland may have slipped to 60th place in FIFA's world rankings, but they will head into the Senegal game with four wins in eight outings under their new head coach. While home and away defeats to England and Greece may not have come as a surprise, home and away wins over Finland and Bulgaria brought a more positive conclusion to the Nations League campaign, and Hallgrimsson's team will run out at the Aviva Stadium with three victories in their last four matches. On song for September? Every step the Icelander has taken so far has been geared towards preparing his team for World Cup qualification. That process begins in September when Ireland face Hungary and Armenia away in fixtures which could go a long way towards determining how they fare in a four-team group which also includes Portugal. The friendlies against Senegal and Luxembourg – in which most of Hallgrimsson's Sky Bet Championship players will not be involved – provide a final chance to nail down a plan. Kick-off for Kelleher Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has completed his move from Liverpool to Brentford (Brian Lawless/PA) Successive Ireland managers have bemoaned a lack of players playing regularly in Premier League teams, and one has taken decisive action during the current window. Goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, who has established himself as Hallgrimsson's number one, was allowed to leave the camp to tie up an £18million switch from Liverpool to Brentford which he will hope gives him the football he craves and in turn, secure his place in the national team. Three into two won't go Adam Idam is battling Evan Ferguson and Troy Parrott for a place in the Republic of Ireland starting line-up (Brian Lawless/PA) Evan Ferguson, Troy Parrott and Adam Idah find themselves battling for a place in Ireland's starting line-up with their new boss still working to find the right balance in attack. AZ Alkmaar's Parrott has been the man in form and Celtic frontman Idah ended an at times difficult season with 20 goals and two trophies, while Ferguson, who spent the second half of the campaign on loan at West Ham from Brighton, barely kicked a ball in anger. Into the Lions' den Everton's Senegal international midfielder Idrissa Gueye could come up against the Republic of Ireland on Friday night (Cody Froggatt/PA) Senegal are ranked 19th in the world for a reason, and a glance at the list of players available to head coach Pape Thiaw illustrates why they are so highly-regarded. Among his big names are Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye, Villarreal's Pape Gueye, Pape Matar Sarr of Tottenham, Crystal Palace striker Ismaila Sarr and Chelsea counterpart Nicolas Jackson.

Irish Boxer Turned Pop Culture Star Ends 16 Year Hiatus, Returns Oct. 12 Against WBC's 18th-Ranked, Promoter Confirms
DUBLIN, IE / ACCESS Newswire / June 4, 2025 / Undefeated Irish boxer turned US Billboard Charting and multi-platinum artist Marc Mysterio (3-0, 2 KOs as pro) - his 2006-2009 BoxRec profile application pending - and 10-0-1 amateur standout under the late Gregory Leschishin of USA Boxing - tragically killed last month by a carjacker, according to Yahoo - resumes his world title quest with a clean bill of health after a 15+ year hiatus from the sport. Following a preliminary mutual understanding, Marc Mysterio is set to face the WBC's 18th-ranked Serhiy Radchenko (11-8-0, 5 KOs) on Oct. 12, 2025, in 'Irish Pride vs. Ukrainian Glory: Marc Mysterio v. Radchenko,' promoter Ville Ruutu of World Class Promotions (WCP) confirmed Wednesday. 'WBC Ukraine President Mykola Kovalchuk played a key role in facilitating this mutual understanding, as shown by his initial WhatsApp response, 'I think Radchenko should take the fight,' and we remain grateful for his support.' A 2009 basketball injury paused Mysterio's boxing, sparking a music career with hits alongside David Guetta, Avicii, Samantha Fox, Crash Test Dummies and Flo Rida, including 'The Dancefloor' which entered the U.S. Billboard charts, plus TMZ, Radar Online, and Perez Hilton buzz, Miami Herald and Boston Globe coverage, and 'Trailer Park Boys' fame culminating in 81,000,000+ streams from 15,000,000 listeners during September 2023-September 2024, resulting in over 1,250,000+ Fans and 15,000+ Super Fans on Amazon Music. Last year, he challenged Jake Paul to replace semi-retired opponent Ryan Bourland with himself in a February bout in Puerto Rico - backed by the IBA's former chairman who volunteered to sanction the proposed bout for their vacant super cruiserweight intercontinental championship - covered by the UK's Daily Express and The Irish Star, with Mysterio even posting read-receipts of his team's emails to Nakisa Biderian of MVP Promotions on his X account, @marc_mysterio. 'I'm back to finish what I started,' Mysterio declared. 'On Oct. 12, every Irish fan must join this pilgrimage - Ukrainians will rally for Radchenko. It's Irish pride versus Ukrainian glory!' 2010 WBC Trainer of the Year Gabriel Sarmiento has recently been working with Mysterio in the months prior to Coach Greg's death, and will travel to Ireland for Marc's pre-fight camp. 'Marc's skill reflects decades of work and has adapted well to my coaching,' Sarmiento said. 'He'll prove that he is both a machine and a legitimate contender - I believe Marc will dominate Radchenko.' Radchenko, a former WBC silver Bridgerweight champion, has faced undisputed light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol and WBC Bridgerweight champion Kevin Lerena in May 2025. 'I fight for Ukraine's glory - Slava Ukraini!' Radchenko has stated previously, translated from Ukrainian, reflecting his enduring inspiration. Jill Diamond, WBC secretary and WBC Cares global chairwoman, was quoted by the UK's Daily Express last year, 'Marc Mysterio is a force in music and boxing and, moreover, a friend of the WBC and WBC Cares. We support his efforts.' 'At present, I look forward to donating a portion of my purse to WBC Cares, as well as tickets to the event for local disabled children,' Mysterio notes, confirming his support of the charitable organization and youth. 'Speaking personally, not for the DFA or Irish government, Marc inspires Ireland by blending boxing, music, and philanthropy, overcoming countless obstacles after his injury and the recent loss of his lifelong coach - embodying the essence of Irish pride in my view,' said David Costello, an Irish diplomat and former head of mission to several countries. 'On May 26, at the request of WBC Ukraine President Mykola Kovalchuk, we sent a letter to WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman seeking sanctioning for the Mysterio-Radchenko bout as a ranked fight under WBC rules, including proof of a venue hold for Oct. 12 at one of Europe's top 10 indoor arenas by 2024 ticket sales, as required for sanctioning,' Ville Ruutu said. 'With Irish and Ukrainian fans competing for scarce tickets, broadcasters like Netflix, ESPN, ESPN+, DAZN and Sky Sports are vying for exclusive rights - possibly drawn by Marc's ESPN 'First Take' tie, when Stephen A. Smith chose 'Be The Truth' for the show in 2016, and Netflix 'Trailer Park Boys' connection. This will influence our decision, though not decisively. We'll prioritize the networks' coverage of this landmark bout from now to early July over financial incentives, aiming for the best long-term outcome for both fighters and the Bridgerweight division. Broadcast partners will be revealed at the mid-July press conference.' The official venue, pre-sale ticket date, broadcast partners and event sponsors unveil will occur at a mid-July press conference at which WCP anticipates, in light of both boxers statements, the live appearances of both warriors - as well as the official contract signing to formalize the bout - at a location, date and time to be announced in an early July press release. 'I'll fight Radchenko on Oct. 12, with or without WBC sanctioning as a ranked fight. Defeating the 18th-ranked boxer - who entered May 2025 as silver champion - basically guarantees me a top-25 WBC Bridgerweight world ranking - sanctioning should be a mere formality of that result! This is a professional 10-round fight, three-minute rounds, no matter what! I am also volunteering to enter the WBC Clean Program aimed at eradicating PEDs from the sport, required for top 15 rankings in WBC. Finally, I aim to pioneer Bridgerweight, like Holyfield did for cruiserweight, a division ripe with talent, but lacking prestige to casual fans before his charismatic championship reign that paved the road for guys like Usyk, a friend of Radchenko - It all starts Oct. 12 - I just wish that Coach Greg was still here to witness it,' Mysterio concludes. Those wishing to obtain media credentials for the press conference and/or interactive livestream should immediately provide their credentials to the media contact listed below.
