Dubai-Based Woman Trespasses Into Actor Aditya Roy Kapur's Mumbai House

A Dubai-based woman has been arrested by the Mumbai Police for allegedly entering the house of actor Aditya Roy Kapur on the pretext of meeting him.
The woman arrived at Mr Kapur's Bandra home on Monday evening, claiming to deliver clothes and gifts. The house help allowed her entry after she mentioned a scheduled meeting with the 39-year-old actor.
However, when Mr Kapur returned, he said he did not know the woman, following which she tried to approach the actor, but was stopped by his staff.
The staff then called the police, and she was detained.
The incident comes days after a man and a woman were arrested by the Mumbai Police for allegedly attempting to enter actor Salman Khan's residence.
The accused, the police said, made separate attempts to enter Galaxy Apartments in Bandra (West) on May 20 and May 21. The man was identified as Jitendra Kumar Singh (23) and the woman, Isha Chhabra (32).
According to the police, Singh, a resident of Chhattisgarh, was initially spotted roaming around Mr Khan's house at around 9:45 am on Tuesday. When a policeman deployed for the actor's security asked him to leave, the accused smashed his mobile phone on the ground in a fit of rage.
That evening, at around 7:15 pm, Singh entered Galaxy Apartments by following a car belonging to a person living in the same building.
"He managed to enter the premises but was caught by the police again. This time, they handed him over to the Bandra police," an officer said.
During interrogation, Singh told the police that he wanted to meet the actor. He claimed that he tried to sneak in as the police were not allowing him to enter the building, the officer said.

17 FIRs and counting: Madhya Pradesh police probe cheating claims in constable recruitment exam
The Madhya Pradesh Police began an investigation into the conduct of the 2023 police constable recruitment examination after multiple FIRs were registered across the state on allegations that candidates tinkered with Aadhaar-based biometrics to cheat by getting proxy candidates to take the exam on their behalf. DIG Virendra Singh told The Indian Express that there were a total of 17 FIRs across at least five districts. 'We are now going to issue new guidelines to ensure this doesn't happen in the future,' he said. Gwalior, Indore, Shivpuri, and Shahdol are among these districts. Senior officers at the Police Headquarters in Bhopal said that following multiple complaints from local battalions across multiple districts, an Aadhaar verification exercise of selected candidates brought to the fore several cases of irregularities. In Gwalior's Kampu police station, five candidates selected in the Guard (GD) Constable Recruitment Examination, 2023, have been accused of manipulating their Aadhaar biometrics to cheat in the written examination, according to an official letter from the 14th Battalion of the Special Armed Forces (Visbal), Gwalior. An FIR has been registered against the candidates. A report on this, dated May 23 this year, was sent from the office of the 14th Battalion, Gwalior, to higher authorities, flagging serious irregularities in the biometric history of the selected candidates. The complaint said, 'During the recruitment process, biometric change was made in Aadhaar, and the photograph taken during the written examination of the candidates appeared different, which raised suspicion that the above candidates have cheated in the written examination.' Gwalior ASP Dharmveer Singh said, 'Recruitment examinations today involve a high degree of technological integration. Any attempt to cheat at any stage is quickly detected. That's exactly what happened in this case. After these candidates were selected and appeared for document verification, discrepancies were found in their Aadhaar updates, fingerprints, and handwriting. The scrutiny committee discovered clear evidence of document tampering.' The battalion, acting under orders from the Police HQ in Bhopal, checked the Aadhaar update history of the five individuals through a designated Aadhaar History Committee after obtaining written consent from the candidates. It was found that the accused persons changed their biometric information before the written examination on July 18, 2023 and again after the exam. The battalion obtained various documents from the Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board in Bhopal to verify these suspicions. These included the candidates' original exam application forms, admit cards, result copies, second-page admit card copies that included the candidates' thumb impressions and handwriting done in front of the invigilator at the exam centre, the attendance sheets, and photographs taken during registration and lab entry on the exam day. A handwriting and document comparison was conducted by a committee, which found mismatches in photographs and handwriting samples, reinforcing the suspicion that impersonation had occurred. The FIR said that the 'photo taken at the written examination centre and the handwritten scan file of the applicant… were scrutinised by the document examination committee at the channel level, which raised the suspicion that cheating has been committed in the written examination.' On May 19, the Gwalior police arrested one Atendra Singh Rana for allegedly manipulating his Aadhaar biometric and photograph three times in an attempt to become a police constable. An FIR was registered against him at City Kotwali police station. According to officials, he updated his Aadhaar card before the written examination and replaced his photograph with that of a proxy candidate. After clearing the exam, he once again changed the Aadhaar photograph — this time updating it with his own image. The accused person tampered with his Aadhaar records three times between the written examination and the physical test. When he arrived at the 5th Battalion in Morena for document verification, the scrutiny committee noticed irregularities in his Aadhaar biometric history. During questioning, the suspect allegedly admitted to having made three biometric and photo updates to facilitate cheating. Station House Officer Dipendra Yadav confirmed the arrest, saying, 'He had sent a proxy to appear in the police constable recruitment exam in his place. An investigation is underway, and other individuals linked to this cheating racket will also be arrested.' Similarly, in Shivpuri district, local police are investigating allegations of irregularities against two men from Gwalior after the local SAF battalion red flagged irregularities in their identification details.

Stalker kills 18-year-old woman, sets body ablaze in Sanjay Van: Delhi Police
An 18-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by a man who had been stalking her for months and then set her body on fire in Sanjay Van on Sunday after she repeatedly rejected his advances, the police said on Monday. The accused, who has been arrested, is a first-year student of Delhi University's School of Open Learning (SOL), as was the victim. The accused has been identified as Arshkrit Singh, a resident of Rani Bagh. The victim lived with her parents and elder sister in Jahangirpuri. Both were pursuing undergraduate degrees through SOL. Deputy commissioner of police (South) Ankit Chauhan said the woman's parents filed a missing person's report at Mehrauli police station on Sunday evening after she failed to return home. 'She had gone for classes in the morning. Around noon, she called her mother and said she would be back shortly, but she never returned,' Chauhan said. Later that afternoon, around 2.30pm, Singh's father contacted the victim's father, claiming that his daughter had attacked Singh with a knife in Sanjay Van, and that his son had been admitted to a hospital in Pitampura. Alarmed, the woman's family began searching for her in Sanjay Van but were unable to find her. They informed police about previous altercations between her and Singh. 'The parents alleged that Singh had been harassing their daughter and may have lured or abducted her,' Chauhan said. Based on their statement, a case under Section 140(1) (kidnapping) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Mehrauli police station and an investigation was launched. During the preliminary inquiry, CCTV footage from the vicinity of Sanjay Van was examined. Singh was traced to the hospital in Pitampura and brought in for questioning. 'During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. He said he had called the victim and asked her to meet him at Sanjay Van. He led her to a secluded spot inside the forest, where he stabbed and strangled her. He then attempted to destroy evidence by setting her body on fire,' Chauhan said. Singh sustained minor injuries during the attack, after which he fled and admitted himself to the hospital. From there, he contacted his father and falsely claimed that the victim had attacked him — a version that his father relayed to the woman's parents. Based on Singh's confession, the police recovered the victim's body from a densely wooded area in Sanjay Van. Additional sections — Section 103(1) (murder) and Section 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) — were subsequently added to the FIR. The murder weapon was also recovered. The victim's father described his daughter as a bright and determined student. In addition to her SOL coursework, she attended weekend classes at a college in east Delhi and was enrolled in a Korean language course at a private institute. According to the family, the victim and Singh had known each other for about a year. While he wanted to pursue a relationship, she had made it clear she was not interested. 'Because my sister rejected him, he began stalking her,' said the victim's 22-year-old sister. 'He even went to her language institute once and created a scene. About a month ago, he came to our home, blamed our mother for not letting the two of them speak, and even flung her phone to the ground.' The family said they had warned Singh that they would approach the police if he did not stop harassing her. 'But we didn't follow through,' the sister said. On Sunday, after receiving the distressing call from Singh's father, the family first went to Jahangirpuri police station. They were allegedly redirected to Mehrauli police station, where they reported the suspected abduction. Police personnel, along with the family, searched Sanjay Van, but could not find her. Her body — bearing extensive burn injuries — was recovered later that evening after Singh was taken into custody and led police to the spot deep inside the forest.
