Grandpa 'loved granddaughter, two, so much'...but then he did the unthinkable

Daily Mail14-05-2025

A Louisiana grandfather has left his family searching for answers after he killed his beloved granddaughter, wife and son in a horror murder-suicide spree.
Leroy Sadler, 60, opened fire inside his home in Keithville on May 5, slaughtering everyone inside including his granddaughter Adalynn Mae Sadler, two, before turning the gun on himself.
Deputies were called to a welfare check on the home and found that Leroy refused to speak with them, before they heard gunshots inside.
When they breached the home, they found Leroy's wife Judy Sadler, 64, and his son and Adalynn's father James Sadler, 29, also shot dead.
Investigators have not offered any indication over why the 60-year-old wiped out his family, and his remaining loved ones say they are bewildered by the tragedy.
'I'm completely at a loss for words for that, because he loved that baby so much,' Adalynn's mother Kara Hanning told Fox8Live.
'He did love her, and I don't know what caused this to happen or what he must have been going through. I feel terrible because I wish he had asked for help.'
Authorities have launched an investigation to uncover the cause of the horror shooting, but say there is no further threat to the public.
The horrific shooting spree unfolded after deputies with the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office were called to the home for a welfare check, although it is not clear who called 911.
Hanning said she was at work at the time, but realized something was wrong when several of her friends reached out to her to ask if she and Adalynn were okay because something happened on her street.
She said Adalynn was supposed to be dropped off at a babysitter's home that morning, but panicked when the babysitter told her she hadn't seen her yet.
Adalynn's father James then also didn't pick up, and she left work early and drove to the house when she called Leroy and he didn't pick up either.
She recalled the heartbreaking moment she arrived at the house to find police officers there, and when she asked them if her baby girl was okay, 'they just looked at me with the most saddest expression,' she said.
'I lost it, I did, because I don't think anybody would want to lose their baby like that,' Hanning said.
Hanning said she and the rest of the family are stunned by the senseless killings, and are searching for answers as to what could have made Leroy snap.
She said Leroy had struggled with the loss of his stepdaughter to cancer about six months ago, and knew he had been grieving ever since.
Hanning also revealed that Judy Sadler was sick, but did not say what illness she had been battling before being shot dead by her husband.
She said despite the grandfather's horrific acts, she 'can't hate him' and hopes the tragedy serves as a lesson on mental health for others.
'I will never be able to hate him,' Hanning continued.
'I forgive him for his actions. I wish it never happened, but I have no hate in my heart for that man.'
In a GoFundMe set up following Adalynn's death, she two-year-old was described as 'beautiful, intelligent and so full of joy.'
'She was the brightest light in Kara's life and truly the sweetest little girl you could ever meet,' read the fundraiser, written by Hanning's cousin.
'Instead of spending this Mother's Day weekend with her baby, she will be laying her to rest. No mother should ever have to feel that kind of pain.'

Additionally, Border Patrol has always been able to operate within 100 miles of the US-Mexico border on its own. 'Showing up to a sidewalk protest with protest marshals empowers counterrevolutionary entities (liberals) to drain all the energy and radicalism into Instagram photo ops and call-your-representatives nonsense. That's not going to work. It never has. There are so many other options. If you're all alone, show up to your local Food Not Bombs (in a mask) and let's talk. We are everywhere.' Federal officials have made if clear that violence against agents will not be tolerated. 'Our law enforcement officers are just doing their jobs. Violence and intimidation against federal law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,' ICE posted to X. Whole Foods supplier United Natural Foods says cyber incident disrupted operations

June 9 (Reuters) - United Natural Foods Inc (UNFI.N), opens new tab one of the largest U.S. grocery distributors whose clients include Whole Foods, took certain systems offline in recent days after the discovery of unauthorized activity on internal networks, the company said on Monday. A Whole Foods spokesperson told Reuters in an email on Monday that the company was 'working to restock our shelves as quickly as possible' and referred additional questions back to United Natural. Shares of United Natural fell more than 8% during Monday's session and closed down by almost 7% at $25.94. United Natural, based in Rhode Island, said in a June 9 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it 'proactively' took some systems offline after becoming aware June 5 of unauthorized activity on certain networks. The company said the incident temporarily hurt its "ability to fulfill and distribute customer orders.' It added that the incident "is expected to continue to cause temporary disruptions" to its operations. There have been a spate of cyber incidents affecting major retailers in the UK and the U.S. recently, including Marks & Spencer, Co-op, Harrods and Victoria's Secret. United Natural did not specify the "unauthorized activity." In the past, disruptions that caused companies to take actions similar to those it described have often been linked to ransomware incidents, where extortion-minded cybercriminals disable a firm's computers by encrypting them, promising to release the decryption key only in exchange for massive cryptocurrency payments. United Natural Foods is the largest publicly traded wholesale distributor of 'healthier food options' in the U.S. and Canada, according to its website. In May 2024 the company announced an eight-year extension to serve as primary distributor for Amazon-owned Whole Foods. The FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment. United Natural Foods reported $8.2 billion in net sales in the 13-week period ending February 1, 2025.

BREAKING NEWS Taylor Swift granted protective order from ex-con stalker who claims she is mother to his child

Taylor Swift has been granted a protective order against an ex-con stalker who claims that she is the mother to his child. The 35-year-old megastar filed for a protective order and was granted a temporary restraining order on Monday according to TMZ. has reached out to representatives for Swift who have confirmed the report. According to the filing obtained by TMZ, Taylor alleges that an ex-convict keeps showing up to her house uninvited claiming that she is the mother to his child. The pop star even claims that the 45-year-old man named Brian Jason Wagner even changed his address on his driver's license to her residence in Los Angeles. Taylor had went to court to make the filing on Friday as it is claimed that he has been harassing her for years beginning when he was incarcerated. In the documents, Taylor claims that Wagner had showed up on her property consecutive days in May as he asked to see her and told security that he was there to check on a friend. She goes on to say that her security team had ran a 'criminal history report' on Wagner as they have found he was previously incarcerated. Taylor went on to explain that she was told that he had been sending her lengthy communications from his time in prison as she claims that they were full of mostly fabricated stories about his involvement in her personal life. Perhaps the most alarming bit is that Taylor alleges that Wagner had used concerning and threatening language in the communications and even attempted to divert mail away from her LA residence. According to TMZ she claimed he 'even lied to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to somehow change the address on his driver's license to my Los Angeles home.' The megastar also claims that Wagner had previously went to her home at least three times in July 2024 including one supposed visit where he allegedly carried a glass bottle 'that could have been used as a weapon.' Taylor claims that she had never met or communicated with Wagner and asked via the court order for Wagner to stay at least 100 yards away from her, her home, her workplace, and car. The A-lister has dealt with numerous stalkers in the past including one who sent twisted letters threatening to kill her. Meanwhile, over the weekend Taylor gave fans the shock of a lifetime as she attended Travis Kelce 's cousin's wedding in Nashville. Videos spread on X (formally Twitter) of the power couple - who were seen on a date night in Florida earlier this week - enjoying the reception together as they moved and grooved while sitting in their chairs and watching the bride and groom do their first dance. Several videos on TikTok showed the 35-year-old pop megastar wearing a strapless blue floral patterned Markarian dress which retails for $1,995. 📷| A Fairy Princess attending a wedding today!😊 — Taylor Swift Updates 🩶 (@swifferupdates) June 6, 2025 She completed the look with a pair of strappy brown leather heels as her signature blonde locks were teased into waves which cascaded down her shoulders. Travis, also 35, looked happy to be joined by his ladylove at the family event which took place in a barnhouse reportedly in Nashville. It seemed to be the wedding of the star Kansas City Chief tight end's cousin Tanner Corum, who tied the knot with Samantha Peck.
