Ex-NYC acting teacher distributed more than 1,500 child porn images — including of infants and toddlers: feds
A former Big Apple acting teacher allegedly passed around a disturbing trove of child porn with over a thousand files – including images depicting the sexual abuse of toddlers and infants – over a short few months, according to federal prosecutors.
Actor and dancer Samuel Gonzalez, 31, was arrested Monday, more than two years after he first made contact with an undercover federal agent and began sharing the sickening content, a criminal complaint alleged.
The Brooklyn resident allegedly used an online messaging app to send the covert investigator links that contained more than 1,500 files of child porn between January and April of 2023, the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York said.
Manhattan US Attorney Jay Clayton vowed to pursue people who victimize children.

Later that year, the feds seized a slew of his electronic devices, including his cell phone and laptop, which allegedly held 18 videos and 69 photos of child pornography.
Some files showed infants as young as just a few months old, the feds said.
'As alleged, Samuel Gonzalez distributed a large volume of child pornography, including images of sexual abuse of children as young as a few months old,' Manhattan US Attorney Jay Clayton said in a statement.
'The lasting scars from the horrific abuse of children are deeply troubling to all New Yorkers. Together with our partners, we will relentlessly pursue those who victimize children and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.'
Gonzalez previously taught at the Atlantic Acting School in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, but hasn't since May 2021 and is no longer connected to the institution, a school spokesperson said in an email.
Gonzalez was charged Monday.

He was charged with a count each of distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography. If convicted on the charges, he could face decades in prison.
'Samuel Gonzalez allegedly distributed thousands of pornographic images of infants and minors to an undercover federal agent over a brief period,' FBI Assistant Director in Charge Christopher Raia said in a statement.
'Gonzalez's alleged actions grossly disregarded the victims' welfare and repeatedly violated their privacy by sharing this twisted material.'
Gonzalez hung up when a Post reporter inquired about the charges against him Monday night. A phone call and email to his public defender were also not returned.
He was released from custody after his arraignment Monday, a US Attorney's spokesperson said.

Israel says missile launched from Yemen fell in Hebron; at least 5 Palestinians hurt
CAIRO (Reuters) -The Israeli military said on Friday a missile that was launched from Yemen towards Israel fell to earth inside the city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, adding that no interceptors were involved. At least five Palestinians, including three children, sustained injuries from the missile's sharpnel that fell in Hebron, the Palestinian Red Crescent said in a later statement. The incident occurred amid an ongoing Israeli military campaign targeting nuclear sites in Iran that wiped out that country's entire top echelon of military commanders and also killed nuclear scientists. Yemen's Houthis, who usually claim responsibility for missiles launched towards Israel from Yemen, are allied to Iran.

Appeals court won't reconsider Trump's $5M loss to E. Jean Carroll
NEW YORK, June 13 (Reuters) – Donald Trump failed to persuade a federal appeals court to reconsider the $5 million verdict won by E. Jean Carroll after a jury found that the U.S. president sexually abused and defamed the former magazine columnist. A divided 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan on Friday left intact its Dec. 30 decision upholding the jury award. Carroll, now 81, accused Trump of attacking her around 1996 in a Bergdorf Goodman department store dressing room in Manhattan, and defaming her in an October 2022 Truth Social post by denying her claim as a hoax. 3 Donald Trump failed to persuade a federal appeals court to reconsider the $5 million verdict won by E. REUTERS Jurors decided in May 2023 that Trump had sexually assaulted Carroll, and defamed her by lying. They did not find that Trump raped Carroll, as she had claimed. In seeking reconsideration, Trump maintained that the trial judge erred in letting jurors review the 2005 'Access Hollywood' video of him bragging about his sexual prowess, and a 'pile-on' of inflammatory evidence that he mistreated two other women. 3 Jurors decided in May 2023 that Trump had sexually assaulted and defamed Carroll. The other, former People magazine writer Natasha Stoynoff, said Trump forcibly kissed her at his Mar-a-Lago estate in 2005. Trump has denied their claims. Trump, who turns 79 on Saturday, is separately appealing an $83.3 million jury verdict in January 2024 for defaming Carroll and damaging her reputation in June 2019, when he first denied her claim about the Bergdorf encounter. The president is arguing in that appeal that the U.S. Supreme Court's decision last July providing him substantial criminal immunity shields him from liability in Carroll's civil case. In his 2019 and 2022 denials of Carroll's accusations, Trump said she was 'not my type' and had made up the rape claim to promote her memoir.

Ye makes surprise appearance at Sean 'Diddy' Combs trial
By Jonathan Stempel NEW YORK (Reuters) -Ye made a surprise appearance at Sean "Diddy" Combs' criminal trial on Friday, expressing support for his fellow rapper as he defends against sex trafficking charges. Dressed all in white, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, arrived at the Manhattan federal courthouse in a Maybach, and entered through a public entrance. Ye nodded when asked by a reporter whether he was there to support Combs. He left the courthouse about 35 minutes later. Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges, and if convicted could face life in prison. He has been held in a Brooklyn jail since his September arrest. Ye has also faced controversy for antisemitic and pro-Nazi remarks, prompting businesses such as Adidas to sever ties. He appeared shortly after a Homeland Security special agent completed testimony about firearms and other items that law enforcement found in a March 2024 raid of Combs' Los Angeles home. Jonathan Perez, a former personal assistant to Combs, testified after the agent. During a trial break, outside the jury's presence, prosecutor Maurene Comey renewed her complaint about Combs' "nodding emphatically" at times about testimony he agreed with, on concern his gestures might influence jurors. Combs allegedly made similar gestures during testimony last week. Brian Steel, one of Combs' lawyers, denied that his client's in-court conduct was improper. U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, who oversees the trial, said he would try to watch for inappropriate gestures, but that it was normal to react to testimony and "impossible to police" everyone. Prosecutors are expected to continue their case next week, after which Combs' legal team can begin his defense.
